Michael informs Blake that Amanda has disappeared to London. Michael accuses Blake of convincing her to leave him. Alexis and Sammy Jo have another tongue fight over Steven. Blake calls Alexis to tell her that Amanda’s gone to London. Alexis suggested that she and Blake try to find Amanda, however Blake tells Alexis that they must leave her alone until she’s ready to come home, which she never did for Amanda never appeared or was mentioned again during the original series.
They never should of let Catherine Oxenburg leave the show. She was great as Amanda.
Well she was being a snob and acting all high and mighty. I frankly dont blame them for getting rid of her, but I wouldn't have recast or at least got someone better than Karen Cellini.

Well you messed with the wrong one so sit down and learn something and then feel very ridiculous afterwards. Whether she would have done better than me is questionable. You don't even know me to be talking or what I could have done better or not better, so how dare you go attacking me to defend her. Even if she COULD do better than me, still doesn't rove a thing when it comes to her in contrast in Catherine which was faaaar from successful as one could get. Furthermore, I said nothing really ill of Karen for you to even go there and if you yourself know she was new to acting to know the issue here me and MANY had with her to point that out to me, why are you attacking me for making a rather reasonable critique. You rather reinforced my opinion saying she was new which also indicates she wasn't going to be as good as Catherine who wasn't new! SO, she had no business being in the role so I have every right to say I would have gotten someone BETTER! Like duh. Get your brain checked. New to acting yet taking on such a big role as Amanda Carrington, yeah that was a great idea. Following in the footsteps of a rather professional and well classed actress as Catherine Oxenberg, outside of her terrible personality as noted by me, was obviously too much for Kare and it was dumb for the producers to cast someone with little experience or charisma. They just selected the first random white woman they could pretty much which is lame. If you liked Karen, fine. But many didn't and compared to Catherine she sunk the role down and any charm and sass Amanda was shown to have for almost two seasons. She didn't even bother to put on a British accent to show some consistency. Nada. Still want to talk junk on how this actress would have done better than me as if that helps her in ANY way? I at least would have done an accent and if I felt I couldn't do the role justice being a new actress and taking over a role from someone else which would already give me some heat, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOTHERED TAKING IT, which shows how much I cared to not disappoint Amanda fans or maybe ruin my own credibility if I don't do so hot in comparison. SO THERE.

@@4nlover635 I said a lot you old prune woman. You don't even try to defend yourself now which shows I won this one. How about you watch what you write to me because you will get shut down. My work is done. Karen needed more work before taking on this role and deserves all the criticism she got. Deal with it and learn some things before defending mediocre actors.
Thanks for this scene! The plot was having Amanda killed by Michael Culhane, but Karen Cellini's replacement for Katherine Oxenberg was so disliked by the audience that the production chose to cancel and forget Amanda's character forever. She wasn't even mentioned in the reunion. So much for all the Moldavian fuss which made Dynasty became the 1st show on the 5th season... only to suddenly fall in the ratings on the sixth.
I remember how Amanda was just written out of the show and then was never spoken of again, as if she never existed. Karen Cellini was a bad replacement for Catherine Oxenberg.
reminds me of My Three Sons. The eldest son got married and left the show and was never heard of or seen again. They just brought on the little friend of Chips to adopt.
Or Jamie Foxworth leaving Family Matters. She went upstairs in an episode and was never seen or referred to again. When the Urkle character grabbed more dialogue her character was diminished and then dropped.

Blake should have read the letter out loud with Amanda saying that she had to leave Denver because she’d changed so much that she couldn’t even recognize herself anymore. 😃

The second Amanda was horrible, that’s why they wrote her off the show.
Catherine Oxenberg was way better than the other one.
But Emma Samms was even worse as a Fallon recast, but they kept her.

@@travisjames3517 Emma Samms was not bad as Fallon. She was simply another take on the role, and considering Fallon was more central to the _Dynasty_ series than Amanda was, I see why they kept her. Plus, Amanda was introduced as a way of replacing Fallon, so when a Fallon was available, there was zero need for Amanda to be around.
The Amanda character was nothing more than a Fallon replacement, so this Amanda was a replacement of a replacement, totally expendable
No way ! Amanda had charm ! The show runners wasted opportunities
Thanks for this; recasting Amanda was a mistake, and all for the sake of possibly getting Fallon back full-time. Also, is this from DVD or streaming? Am dying to re-watch the series!

I purposely rewatched all of Karen Cellini’s episodes. Just wrong energy for the role and the whole show had bad storylines at that point. The ONLY thing interesting on those episodes is Kate Omara’s plot where she tearfully bribes Emily Fallmont, because Kate got some good acting w/John Forsythe too. Then they wrote out Kate properly to go off to some country to research Ben Carrington, i think?
Amanda leaves because its hard for her between blake and micheal. It happen to the real life!!! Leaves from person problems!!!!!

I love how Delta Rho only has one room.
It also had a attic where Joel Abrigore locked Krystle after replacing her with Rita. Also it had a bathroom where Joel allowed Krystle to take a hot bath while he sat and watched.

Recasting Amanda with such a terrible actress was the writing on the wall for Dynasty. And the fact that they didn’t even give her an English accent made no sense, and showed they no longer cared about credibility or realism.
