I open the (beautiful!) vinyl version of "The New Abnormal" and talk to Julian Casablancas and Albert Hammond Jr. about the cover-art. We also discuss the track-listing and how it was done (maybe by Rick Rubin 🤓)
I interviewed @The Strokes back in November 2020. It was a Zoom call between me (Copenhagen, Denmark), Julian (N.Y. hotelroom) and Albert (at home in L.A.). The internet connections could have been better but we managed to have some great moments together 🖤🔥🎸

Damn Jules thinks Side A is better? Idk, Side A has the bangers but At The Door, Sundays and Ode to the Mets are some of their best songs ever imo.
Not The Same Anymore is also heavily underrated, one of my favorites on the record.

he cut with a knife the clear vinyl thingy :/
Yeah, unfortunately I had to in order to get it out of the sleeve. But with a knife it was gentle. If I had pulled it of, the sticker could have torn the plastic or left glue 😬 So all in all, I made the least possible destruction ✌🏻🤓✌🏻
That was cringe! He was just suppose to peel it off to open.
@@antibrunch Uuuh noooo, I would never do that. Pealing could leave marks on the sleeve or the plastic + the sticker is (as I see it) a part of the coverart and therefore (in my opinion) needs to stay on the vinyl sleeve if possible 🙏🏻🤓🖤
@@TinyTV_DK It's not actually a sticker that leaves a residue, it's a reappliable piece of material. Either way, excited for the entire interview!
@@TinyTV_DK it is kind of self adhesive, I guess is a static charge thing... it is a little annoying to get it off and on everytime you want to play it, so lets say your way was more practical for future playings 😀
