  • BIG BIG DAY - PICKING UP OUR CUSTOM SIDECAR : ANGELES CITY, PHILIPPINES
    Today was a very exciting day. We picked up our custom sidecar. It is still not 100% completed and we will be taking it back tomorrow to have the top rack and the back rack put on and also have it completely detailed.

    Try lifting the front wheel of the ground and spin the wheel to see if it spins true or if the wheel bearing has play. The sidecar needed replaced reguardless so you can sit inside. Very nice!

    Outstanding, looking good. Lots of good news for you this date. Car and motor, happy for you. Sorry to hear the wobble still there but hey you needed the new side car for yours and Lot's comfort... Kind of disappointing the the gentleman who made the side car didn't recommend the replacement of the front tire first. However, I still believe the new side car is a total benefit for you and your family. I wish they would have had a side car like that when I lived there in the 70;s and visited our family in 2013. Spent several trips feeling like a sardine in smaller side cars in the past. Have a wonderful day

    Very nice rig, so it wobbled before and now still. Could be the tire maybe. Those guys seemed like artisans so they probably set the sidecar up well. Always nice to get a new bike!

    Brian if it’s not the tire, change the fork oil and you may also have a cracked steering bearing. Or it could have been in an accident and the forks are tweaked. Or simply, wrong air pressure in the tire. Let us know.

    Hey Philly, if the new tire ( should be straight rib pattern) still does not cure the wobble, consider adding a hydraulic steering dampener. It is like a small adjustable shock absorber which would be a good idea for a 125 CC pulling all this weight anyway. Good luck!

    Another thing... the guy who built my trike warned me to cable lock parts that can be removed by thieves. Im my case the stainless half door. And rack in the back are cable locked. I was at the builders talking to this seaman Filipino that was getting another trike built. He said his first new built trike was stolen from his gated driveway several days after it was completed. He stated also that the motorbike was still being paid for. Some locals have a belief it’s okay to steal from a foreigner because they can afford to replace stolen things. Again I was born here to a Filipina so my remarks are not racist but that if a realist.

    That's looking good, now maybe LLB STORES written on the back and front of the sidecar to finish it off. Oh and of course a new front wheel. If I were you I'd just ask the coach builder to do the wheel as well. I hope Luisa is going to learn how to ride it. After all it's her trike. Happy ridings and enjoy.

    WOW, the new sidecar looks GREAT! They do good work! Yes the tire can be the culprit, had bad Firestone 500's on a car way back and made the entire car shake. Is the builder going to put a mirror on the sidecar? Thanks for the video!

    Congratulations! The trike looks really nice! Its good to see that you rolling with the punches about Filipino time. You are absolutely right about how spacious it is! I think you should have a trike taxi company that specializes in good, clean, large sized and fast service with a app. Get 5 of those and a grab like app you have a new business!! :) Have a company called Fast Rides (lol) Shiny Rides, Good TImes Transpo, Quick N Safe, lol. You could partner with businesses and hotels that prioritize for foreigners. In addition, It would be nice if they had a doctors office for foreigners that take appointments. You have a account set up there and have a 5000P deposit. They reserve your appointment for the time slot you want they charge your account for the 300 to 800P office visit. No waiting, no extra Chimps risk; etc.

  • @wildmonkeyhunter6631
    @wildmonkeyhunter6631 4 роки тому

    Hey Brian, be sure to check the registration of the trike and make sure that it has a sidecar addendum. If it doesn't then you need to do a change of body design with the LTO. If you don't you can't get the emission test done unless you separate the side car from the bike. Be sure to get an official receipt from the the builder because you will need it for the change from the LTO. You will also need an affidavit and several other documents.

    • @brendandoherty2159
      @brendandoherty2159 4 роки тому

      All your points are valid....but I'm fairly sure this TMX had a sidecar from first registration, which occurs generally at the end of the bikes initial "run in" period.

    • @wildmonkeyhunter6631
      @wildmonkeyhunter6631 4 роки тому

      Brendan Doherty Tell me where they sell brand new bikes with sidecars already attached. This would be the only time the registration is correct. The sidecar is put on after you buy a bike so the registration is not proper. The change of body design is done all the time at the LTO. Sellers will sell their trikes with the registration ( if current) with it listed as “without sidecar”. In fact last year the EmIssion center would not run a test on my motorbike because a sidecar was attached. They do take pictures of the tester with the motorbike being tested.
      Currently, I am in the process of getting the change in design so I can register my trike and keep it legal.

    • @brendandoherty2159
      @brendandoherty2159 4 роки тому

      It's really very simple....you go to buy a new bike knowing that your immediate intention is to add a sidecar, however the sales person tells you that you must drive the first 1000 Kms or some such without sidecar, so off you go to your trusty sidecar guy and obtain the necessary receipt in advance and submit it to the dealer, so that the VERY FIRST registration shows WITH SIDECAR.....to change it from "solo" to "with sidecar" costs money so nobody with a brain WHO KNOWS it's immediately going to have a sidecar added would register it first and then essentially re-register it......everyone who buys a bike with the intention of adding a sidecar does it this way!

    • @wildmonkeyhunter6631
      @wildmonkeyhunter6631 4 роки тому

      Brendan Doherty Sheesh ...Guess what happens when you add a side car to a new motorbike... it voids the warranty of the new bike. You need to get your facts straight. You would void the warranty of a brand new motorbike to avoid paying 500 php for “change in body design addendum” If you need warranty work done by the dealer, you just remove 2-3 nuts and voila the side car is seperated. Do you even own one?

    • @brendandoherty2159
      @brendandoherty2159 4 роки тому

      So is your recommendation buy the new bike, don't register it correctly with the LTO for 12 months and hope you don't get fined for having improper paperwork? Perhaps you're correct regarding "voiding the warranty", I dunno, seems strange when so many manufacturers specifically market certain models to be used for sidecars, then again, logic is a rare commodity here! Nevertheless I see tons of brand new bikes already with sidecar installed in AC.

      Im 5'9" , i think brian is close to that, But i hear you , i cant count how many times ive left trikes with blood in my hair and it makes me angry , not only that its a very unpleasant ride , 2 videos back he showed a trike at 15:00 minutes, Thats the right height , I would have bought from that builder. But i guess lots going to be driving it so the tall one would be harder for her.

    They could have put the seat in the car a little higher to make a box under the seat. The box can be used to put groceries. That is perfect if you have wife or girlfriend and weather is bad stick her inside. You can also hide inside the car if weather gets bad lots rain. If i ever live long term phillipines i want get one.

    Could've mentioned cost of sandwich and getting a sidecar built.. $? I "ALWAYS" schedule/ expect 3-5 days of extra time when having work done.. (Just so that I dont get upset)! If work isn't completed on time, the price is reduced hourly/daily.. And I "ALWAYS" have this in writing (Contract).. If they/ workers wont show ID and sign contract, I pass.. I've found that most smart workers keep future work potential in mind when working for Americans.. You can have a customer once "OR" you can have a customer for a lifetime.. Great work and timely work is their best advertisement..

    Don't forget to get the mirrors you said you wanted for that trike. Nice looking size! I'm jealous a bit lol. I'm 6 foot tall guy & I always hate taking trike rides lol.

    Looking good so far! One thing many of your viewers don't get....this sidecar was built from scratch! Well done job in such a short length of time. And great news on the KIA! Bad news/good news seems to come in bunches.
    On that delicious breakfast....
    I'm from Asbury Park, NJ, but love the occasional excursion to Philly, about a 40 minute drive from me, for that TRUE Philly cheesesteak!
    Went to both of the below this summer so far...
    John’s Roast Pork 14 E. Snyder Avenue
    Geno’s Steaks 1219 S. 9th Street
    Ever been to those places?
    Nothing like taking a healthy bite into one and having that grease roll down the side of your hand and down your arm! :P
    Best of look!

    Don't forget to get the sidedoor and the screen between the driver and passenger or the passenger/driver will get soaked. I wear a rain parka and also for better sight I didn't get the front plastic. Can you switch the side wheel tire with the front? Definitely keep the bigger tire for the sidewheel.

    If he's any kind of good welder he can build a decent gate for his business. I hope you get the car problems all fixed up for you guys. How much weight can you haul in that trike? Lot can carry allot of groceries in this one.

    Who did the measurements? It is looking great and has plenty of leg room and head room. Great design.

    Hello BRIAN, that's an awesome looking trike! Will be so much more convenient for Lots trips to market. Also, good to have second or backup transportation. Hopefully you'll get ur car back soon. Need shake figured out soon,don't want to have something break on u on the road. Anyway, great looking trike, mobile advertising for store in future? Hello to all, and stay safe.

      The "shake" can be improved but will NEVER be eradicated, I've owned a trike, driven many others and ALL handlebars shook....some more, some less....you get used to it!!!

    Do you happen to know what size motorcycles choices for side car?
    I notice a lot of motorcab have 125cc. Everybody gets out on hills.
    Wondering if there is a 400cc or 600cc?
