Angeles City is down for the count but not out. It survived WWII, Mt. Pinatubo, and other disasters in between, and like the proverbial Phoenix, will rise again. Thanks for the update.
I assume walking street is half of fields avenue, right? Fields used to extend straight from the checkpoint to mcarthur highway. Where the buildings on your left of walking street start. there was just an alleyway behind, and a park where the bar softball league played.
There are so many beautiful places in the Philippines; why would anyone choose to live in Angeles city? Thanks for the video. Stay safe.

What is a sports bar without dancers? Hooters!
Just as you start your walk down fields from the checkpoint, theres a cleared area. Is that the old PNR railway track that was full of squatters? The trains used to pass there three times a day. The Angeles railway station was downtown, but at least one of the trains stopped right there at the checkpoint, in each direction. I once took it to San Fernando, La Union, and got off there on the return trip.
As I said before Brian , the day of bar fines has come and gone . It will be sports bars and free lancers. Just like LA Cafe in Manila . The problem is that is not going to cut it for international tourism.
Yes I agree. Most Red Light Districts around the world have other features for tourists such as beaches, shopping and culture (Rio, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Pattaya, etc). Angeles City has nothing to offer but the bars, i dont know if it can survive once the bars leave. However, there are many other places in the Philippines that would make great Red Light Districts like Manila, Puerto Galera and Palawan.

@@edwardamos6462 ur right. AC grew out of the fact that the Air Force was there. Cv19 was the perfect excuse to shut all the adult fun down permanently. Hate to say it but I think AC is gone. It can't reincarnate as restaurants. Im not going to travel 7000 miles to eat greasy food.

Good evening, Brian and Hi from Germany. Your walking videos are my favorite part of your channel. I'm glad that some of the business are able to reopen so that people that make a living and start to earn money again. It's definately a step in the right direction. The Filipino people deserve this. I'm also helping my partner in Mindano who also has a small business. You are living one hell of an adventure. You guys take care. These are small steps but very important ones. By the way, I love sports bars.
Sports bars can make money especially if you offer good service and excellent food cheap alcohol

I used to live in Thailand but it has lost a lot of its charm, I hope Phillipines doesnt go the same way. The people look so welcoming I really can't wait to go and experience the Phillipines.

Nice walk Brian. I miss Tequila Reef ! As soon as i dont need 3 different permits to head down there, I will for sure. I really want to shop at SR. If you get a chance... Can you do a video on all the Food items you can get there! Like Frozen goods, Cerials, Micro wave popcorn.. (someone wants microwave popcorn ) & Cheeses. So hard to get cheese up here! lol..

Bar fine the waitresses or the bartenders. That's how a Filipino Sports Bar will stay in business. Keep it under the table.

It's slow during the day so what's it like there at night?
That Cebuana at the corner of Fields and Teodoro has been there since about the end of 2007. Before that it was a Mr Frosty restaurant. The security guard statues have been there since early 2009. I stayed at the hotel Natalia when they were new. The owner said he was tired of paying guards to sleep and the statues saved him money.

With all the enforced changes happening, I see the bars in AC going away in their former iterations and reinventing themselves as open-air sports bars and pubs like the ones in Thailand. Once social distancing eases or disappears and the tourists (or sexpats as you call them) are allowed back in, I see the girls returning to the bars.
It looks like the girls are coming back. That bar now restaurant definitely had a couple ropers sitting out front trying for "restaurant" customers along the side. Probably have a waitress fine situation going on.

I have not been in Angeles City since more than 5 years. Luckily I was allowed to experience the city and it's nightlive several times when I have been still younger, starting 1995. That was when the girls did not wear face shield, same as the tourists. Sure we also used protection, but not in public, the protection that time was called "condoms".

Walking street for me was always a place I would visit with a group of friends, while on vacation to the Philippines. We'd spend 2 or 3 days having fun and then move on to South Cebu and other places, to include Thailand. Looks like lots of people are out of work there in AC, which is a real shame. Mouths still needs feeding. Wonder how the girls are earning a living with everything shut down??? My guess is they are hanging out in the Provinces while waiting out the storm.

Need to do your daily walk around 5 pm when the girl are awake. Everybody is sleeping at your usual walk at 9 or 10 am.

Angeles City will be back yesssss. I loved my time there. All those places should serve as restaurants with social distancing survive till tourists come back.

Another good video I noticed that they still have short stay rooms there but the street is nearly empty the one thing we don’t have here in Baguio is tricycles and boy does that make a difference traffic moves so much smoother

I was @ Brown Sugar (sunday night)...Its now a Resto Bar...No dancers just waitress...Social distancing strictly enforced...Alot diff buuut jus good to hav another spot to get away from the crib...

I for one always enjoy your stroll down walking street. Interesting to see the changes being made there from week to week. I feel bad for all the people that used to work there and are now without any work. Hope this Chimmp is finished soon and things get back on track.

so many nicer places there on luzon not sure why you live there phil i loved the sanantonio area later i spent time on cebu island i guess i like the oceon i live inland here in aus so i like my time near the wet stuff cheers and hope the world returns to how it was soon this new normal as they say sucks

I would imagine they all went back home to the rice fields what else are they going to do? But they could have gone to Manila they have a red light district there if the bars are open. From the videos I've seen insides the bars from other vloggers the girls don't do much anyways but stand around listening to that computer noise someone has piped in. If they had some real music to dance to maybe it would be more entertaining to hang out in one of the bars........ cheers :)

Well this could be big problem... if no dancers and girls are "waitresses" how would you justify hygiene and work permits? I'm thinking freelancers hanging out and they will not be required for hygiene

The Brown Sugars behind Orchid Inn reopened, not the one on Fields. I don't know if they have dancers or are only serving food as I have not gone in.
I only been to Angles City once a couple of years ago....ate at the Margarita Station...have the shirt to prove it...LOL and liked going to the American Legion there and Garfields. Guys at the American Legion were very friendly. They got a van and took me on a tour of the death march. Don't get emails anymore so I fear the guy has passed. Do you know if the American Legion Post is still open?
I remember the police figurines out in front of the Natalia from 2007 onward til now...I will miss those guys. Cancel Culture in full bloom the world over...damn.
A little over a week ago you were saying that area needs the walking street. Or a lot of tourists were not going to come. Their food attraction ideas is not a good idea. I agree. Although I had a thought watching your video. Maybe bar girl may become restaurant girl. So they can open. Possibly?

Opening may be the downfall of many of them business's. You need customers spending money to pay the bills and you get more bills having workers and everything.
FYI Bryan. Gio in the Philippines an American blogger from Dumaguete posted a vlog last week. In the vlog he read an article that says the international tourists can enter the Philippines mid 2021. And it will be a bubble tourism meaning the government will open designated locations such as Boracay, Bohol, Palawan you got the point. To make it worst the Philippines will only start opening from countries within the region meaning South East Asian countries such as Japan, Taiwan and others who have manageable covid cases. So North Americans, Europeans , and Australians might not be able to enter the Philippines until 2022. Is this good for the Philippine economy? The obvious answer is NO. But the government is serious in eradicating covid. Less foreigners from high covid cases countries means less chances of infecting the residents of the Philippines.

You will not be disappointed with anything you order @ R.B.I Steak House (Queens Hotel), although it is pricy. Kind of one of those places you take your girl to every few months. I have eaten there a few times. The steaks are very good.

I dont know if the Red Light district is going to survive in AC after this pandemic. Some of the major spots have already closed down for good (High Society, Wild Orchid Hotel, Crystal Palace, Doll House, Pony Tails, etc). The working girls will still be in the Philippines but I wonder if the nightlife will move to Subic or Manila.
