I know that you were suppose to be the star of this video - sorry, your Pops stole the show! But I am pointing out to my wife the part of the video where you say, "Why would you do this alone?" I think you make an excellent point. Good clear instructional video. Thanks.
How great is it to have your Dad's help!?! His pride in you is obvious and you brought back memories for me! In my first house Dad came over to show me how to install a 220 outlet for a garage heater. Once inside the electrical panel, he spotted some old aluminum wiring. By the end of the day, I had my outlet and new copper wire to the stove. What I wouldn't give to hold a flashlight for him under the hood of a car again, while he showed me how to adjust a carburetor. Or when the day came I did some jobs for him and he held the light for rme. Thanks!
As someone who does this for a living...things are a little different. As a DIY guy...great job!!! Especially using a *cheap* (throw away) *brush* to "cut in" along edges.
Way different doing it professionally. I've worked for a company that doesn't own a pressure washer! 😂 Personally I own a 3200 p.s.i. dirt and debris destroyer.
That’s awesome video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and it was great to see if I the hoping you that is really a great help. Thank you and I like your logo thank you.
Thank you for your explanations, worked great..lot of people did to much silly talking..have a large driveway, like yours. But will do it alone(I am female) Thank you again
Thanks for this video. Can you suggest what type of sealer and crack filler to get? I'm looking at Menard's website and they have a bunch of sealers. Good job on your driveway, you have a lovely home.
Well done! Excellent video. Approximately how many square feet did you two seal, and how many total hours do you estimate it required to finish? Thank you! David
I’m sorry David. I wish I could remember, but what I can say is it took approximately 10-12 hours of labor. I’m including running back to the store to get more sealer.
After 2.5 years, yes and no. I think there was value in as it held up well for about a year. I did however wait too long to do it. Had I done it when it was a little warmer, I believe it would still look good today
Thanks Drew good video… question for you on the Ultra Shield, was it slippery during the winter? I live in Syracuse and was thinking of using it and I see that you are in New England and it looks like your driveway has a bit of a pitch to it so I was wondering how traction with ice and snow was affected, thanks
Matt. Thanks for watching. I had no issue during the winter. Traction seemed to be the same as before application. I don’t think you need worry about that.
@@mattbannon7657 Absolutely! I would say aim for 65 degrees and above. I was cutting it close and it took a little longer than I would have hoped for it to cure.
@@mattbannon7657 If you want to get a little more traction you can add 1/2 bag of silica sand to each bucket before you stir it. The product already has some sand in it and most commerical sealcoating products suggest sand added depending on the condition of the driveway and for traction.
You are overdoing it, and only creating more work for yourself! If a driveway doesn't have any oil stains and grease, it's not necessary to use a power scrubber, or a power washer to clean an asphalt driveway to sealcoat it. It doesn't have to be spotless because it's going to be sealcoat anyway. You're not cleaning a carpet or buffing a tile floor in a commercial building, like a janitor! If there aren't any oil stains or grease, all you have to do is sweep or blow off the loose dirt, debris and that should be sufficient.
You’re over commenting. If I’m willing to do the extra work, i will. I’m sure your driveway looks great the way you do. I’m sure you thought your comment was helpful, but it is a waste of your time, mine, and everyone that has to read it from this point on.

That brush is a back breaker.
Sure was
Retired homeowner here with a whole garage full of undersized tools, but no problem, peojects just take a little longer.
Fair point
The surface cleaner didn't work because your pressure washer is severely undersized.
