    Diamond wheel? For sharpening steel? Are you sure? Why not CBN?

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  Рік тому

      We've found that CBN and Diamond plated generates too much heat. Our wheel is USA made and diamond resin bonded so that it cuts cool. We use some CBN on our large grinding operations but we are using a flood coolant. The diamond resin bonded is just the best thing we have found for keeping the heat down and it is the longest lasting wheel.

    Would the okami gold system. Be good for green handle scissors

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  Рік тому

      Yes, the Ookami would be great for the green handle scissors but if that type of scissors is all you will be sharpening, then you could save money and get a Twice as Sharp.

    That sound on polishing wheel just scares the living hell out of me imagining my $1200 mizutani shears on it...After watching this vid I’m realizing that flat hones are absolute ripoff in comparison to ur system...What is the difference neways flat or diagonal?

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  5 років тому +3

      Flat hones allow you to sharpen convex shears quicker and more efficiently. We also sell a flat hone system called the Hira-To®. You can definitely get awesome results on our Ookami Gold® system at a more affordable price and some people never upgrade to a flat hone once they excel at the Ookami. We recommend starting with the Ookami Gold and then if your sharpening volume increases, get a flat hone to increase speed.

    Does this clamp only fit the Ookami machine?

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  3 роки тому

      The clamp will fit the arm of the Twice as Sharp but the wheels on that machine aren't conducive to sharpening convex edges. But yes, this clamp only fits our Twice as Sharp/Ookami Gold platform

    Can I sharp manicure and pedicure tools on this system?

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  4 роки тому

      No, the clamp and wheels are designed for scissors. There are other machines that would sharpen tools like nail nippers and such.

    6:05 Sharpening a scissor blade on a flat stone?
    I have always found that will cause a disaster because the "set" in the blade means
    that it's a curved surface put onto a flat surface -
    that will normally result in the scissors not cutting right to the end of the tips.
    You might have to bend the blades to renew the set.
    I notice you didn't check the scissors at the end.

    • @wolffindustries
      @wolffindustries  Рік тому +1

      If it’s a good quality shear, the amount of pressure used to flatten on a whetstone isn’t going to remove the set. It will spring back into shape. But, washing out the tips is easy to do and something to watch out for. Generally when we have to repair the set, it was incorrect from the factory.
