Hey Luke, this machine is great if you're working with bevel edge shears. This is the one from the video: www.wolffindustries.com/twice-as-sharp-industrial.html
We only recommend this machine for scissors. I am not sure about the machine that you linked. We only sharpen scissors here at Wolff Industries. We don't deal with knives or razors. Sorry!
Parabéns pelo equipamento tão sofisticado. Gostaria de comprar somente o gabarito/braçadeira de padrão de lâminas,. Vcs podem me informar preço ?? Abraço Paulo
Hey Glen, i'm having trouble with the front of the clamp coming in contact with the wheel as i change the degrees to higher numbers.Maybe i'm using the wrong clamp. Please advise thanks
Try pulling the blade out of the clamp some to increase the space between the clamp jaw and the cutting edge. If the blade is two far down into the clamp, the jaw can hit. Are you able to move it out some and still get a good hold with the clamp?
hi.I have a hira to, I wanted to ask you if it is possible to use water as a lubricant so that the sanding discs are always wet and the scissors do not overheat and there is not so much metal dust in the air
Hey Julian, The machine was made to accommodate a drip feed bottle to be attached to the brass bolt. It was an optional accessory and in 12 years we have not sold one. The main reason is the additional mess it creates due to the constant spray of water from off the disc out onto the sharpener. Secondly, a spray bottle works well and makes less mess. As a caution, do not use too much water; this will cause moisture and grit build up on top of the motor and eventually cause rusting and motor failure. This is not covered by the warrantee. Dust containment is best achieved with a vacuum system as the water drip or spray will not be sufficient to prevent all airborne particulate. - Glen
Sir, I have a question for you please tell us, how to apply bend on curve scissor in material 440c blades before applying bend what is the hardness of 440C blades !!!!!!
The hardness of 440c steel depends on how it is heat-treated by the scissors manufacturer. Different pairs of 440c scissors can be different hardness levels. We use a pneumatic press to put the curve in scissors blades. The blades we curve are no harder than 60 Rockwell. Once they are harder than that, they tend to break in the machine.
No, it's not felt. It's a compressed cotton cloth with varying levels of abrasive additive depending on which honing wheel you have. The standard honing wheel has the lowest amount of grit so it's the most abrasive, followed by the industrial honing wheel, and lastly, the highest grit option for the smoothest polish is the professional honing wheel
The machine can, but you'd want different wheels than what is shown in the video. Shoot us an email at customerservice@wolffind.com and we can answer that question in more detail
For most thinning shears, we would recommend just sharpening the standard edge and not touching the teeth unless there is an obvious issue with one of the teeth. Since they just hold the hair, you don't need to sharpen them.
We only disassemble if there is a ride line on the shears or if we can’t open the shears up enough to access the whole edge. These were beveled shears so they don’t have a ride line.
So that’s all you need to be sold? Sweet! I’ll post a short this week sharpening start to finish with the tissue test, time lapse, and no cuts. Then I’ll be looking for your order 😜🙃
We have tested CBN wheels along with many other types. The main concern with all wheels is that we are working to reduce the burning of the steel. Our 27000 sharpening wheel is a friable aluminum oxide and is designed to break down as it cuts to keep fresh grit on the surface, reducing the heat on the metal. Generally to reduce the heat on CBN wheels require a coolant to reduce the heating during cutting. Also, price is a big factor as to why we don't use CBN wheels on the Twice as Sharp.
first mention how much equipment cost without it your video do not make sense. seen many such videos but no one mention about the quipment and the cost. oyur method is costly affair. provide some inexpensive method for sharpeeninf so every person can effort that what is called professionsim.
Been using TAS for last 15 years. It’s simple, no nonsense equipment.
Yes. Would recommend it to a friend.
Thank you!
Thank you for the video! I must have this machine

Nice rig.
Thanks for the explanation I would like advice .. Is this machine good for razors?

fantastic video
Run a marker along the length of the blade on the inside of the blade.
Nice, just doing 3 curved scissors today, for a 40 year old twice as sharp machine( green colour)

OK thank you very much
Use a guitar peck to check for nicks and remove burrs, after sharpening.

What wheel would you recommend for sharpening grooming scissors?
For bevel edge grooming shears, the standard sharpening wheel and the professional honing wheel.
@@wolffindustries thank you
How much cost, and send address to by
Thanks for video. What diameter has a stick of the clamp? Or what diameter a hole in the arm?
Hey E2, the pin diameter is 0.250
Blade is hollow ground from the factory
Can you sharpen curved shears on a Hira Too?
Yeah, you can sharpen curved shears on the Hira-to. We should do a short video demonstrating that.
with your quipment can khife be sharpen?
No, we recommend this system only for scissors. For knives, we recommend a Tru-Hone Light Commercial sharpener.
do you ever sharpen at 25 degrees or lower?
Yes sometimes depending on what material we are cutting. We sharpen some Kevlar shears at 15 degrees
which material is the honingwheel. is it felt.?
No, it's not felt. It's a compressed cotton cloth with varying levels of abrasive additive depending on which honing wheel you have. The standard honing wheel has the lowest amount of grit so it's the most abrasive, followed by the industrial honing wheel, and lastly, the highest grit option for the smoothest polish is the professional honing wheel
Can this do convex grooming shears?
The machine can, but you'd want different wheels than what is shown in the video. Shoot us an email at customerservice@wolffind.com and we can answer that question in more detail
Whats the national average charge to sharpen groomer curved 7" shears?
John, sorry for the delayed response. Check out Sharpener's Report newsletter. They do a yearly report on average sharpening prices.
Máy mài này có bán không vậy a chị
Có, chúng tôi bán máy xay này trên trang web của chúng tôi - wolffindustries.com
Muito bom esse braço articulado fantástico
Lovely
when I speak of putting water I mean a constant drop to keep the discs moist
How do you do it without that fancy holder clamp?
I guess if you don't have the arm or clamp, you would have to free hand it which would be very hard to keep the angle consistent through the curve.
how about thinning shears?
For most thinning shears, we would recommend just sharpening the standard edge and not touching the teeth unless there is an obvious issue with one of the teeth. Since they just hold the hair, you don't need to sharpen them.
Why don't you disassemble the shears first?
We only disassemble if there is a ride line on the shears or if we can’t open the shears up enough to access the whole edge. These were beveled shears so they don’t have a ride line.
No Before and after paper / wet paper cutting demonstration = I'm not sold.

Sharpening is difficult, it requires skill and equipment. I'd have your blades professionally serviced if I were you.
