    Very true, it's all relative. Lifestyle inflation builds up with every payrise then before they know it, they need more and keep chasing those payrises/bonuses just to maintain that lifestyle and tick over.
    Someone said they wished they could buy houses but they'd bought 2 teles at 1300 quid apiece, interest free over 12 months but it's still taking it from the savings, Our tele cost 269 for the same size and I was shocked that it gets the same channels 😆

      Hahaha so true mate.
      They also say ‘I bought this in a sale and saved 50%’.
      To which I reply ’I didn’t buy it and saved 100%!’

    Another cracking video with some excellent advice. As I always say to my wife, it is better to look poor and be rich.

    I’m in a competition with myself no way can I be trying to keep up with these lifestyles that social media cultures put on us. The more money I get the less I want to spend it haha.

    Should I move to Holland, live in a shared house? It's about £11.60 an hour. I think only 40 hours a week though.
    I want more! I want to work! I like being frugil anyway. Wish I was since I was a teenager.
    Do you invest in stocks?

    • @StupidIsTheNorm
      @StupidIsTheNorm  5 місяців тому

      There is no right and wrong way to become wealthy - only what’s right for you mate. If you can make dollar and invest at least 25% of it, then go for it.
      Yes. I invest in a Vanguard VWRL S&S ISA

    • @KrisVic91
      @KrisVic91 5 місяців тому +1

      @@StupidIsTheNorm How does Vanguard S&S ISA work mate?
      Maybe you have a video about it?
      Yeah I like being frugil now. Well to a point. More had a realization when I was younger that buying stulid stuff most of the times doesn't make me happy.
      What do you think about the Holland idea mate? I'm unemoloyed at the moment, 32 still live at home. Isn't a good atmosphere at home.
      I'm f**king miserable tbh.

    • @StupidIsTheNorm
      @StupidIsTheNorm  5 місяців тому

      @@KrisVic91 you’re miserable because you don’t have a purpose. A direction of flow.
      Don’t just jump into the Holland deal. Consider what it is you actually want. I did U.K. ie what I wanted until I was 57. When you have a goal, get back to me and we’ll design a plan to achieve it

      @@StupidIsTheNorm Well yeah but is also my home life mate, I mean I won't go into detail but it's draining for me living here right now. And when I move out it's going to be a financial hit on my savings. I was considering just renting somewhere with a years down payment.
      My intital goal is a Million or as you say financial freedom. I also really like bare knuckle boxing so I'd like to train in it.
      But ultimately I just want Peace and happiness, don't we all really.
      Like you said about the people chasing status in this video, they aren't happy despite wealth. I worked with a Polish guy stacking shelves before Xmas, one of the happiest blokes I'd ever met. Worked with a builder few years ago, he was 66 I think physically fit as f**k, had a house out in Spain, real calmness to him.

      So, what is the minimum per year you need to cover all bills?

  • @stevethomas74
    @stevethomas74 4 місяці тому +1

    $800,000 and 'struggling' 😂 You really do have to shake your head. That's around 630k in GBP. I'm sitting here thinking "I could literally take 3/4 of that put it into buy to rent properties, take 110k and buy this bungalow I'm currently in and save £610 a month in rent, top up my premium bonds by a very considerable amount to increase the odds of winning both smaller and bigger amounts each year, get a car and live off the rest of that money for a couple of years, plus the income from the properties, of which I'd just invest it further. AND I'd probably still have change after all of that!"
    Madness!

    • @StupidIsTheNorm
      @StupidIsTheNorm  4 місяці тому +1

      Some people live in a very different world Steve.
      Imagine being able to invest £400k pa? Holy crap.
