I love my GX. Best vehicle I have ever owned.
Lexus delivers once again...
yeah i cant have a conversation in my V8 GX. Its so loud lmao
Yea that was a weird claim she made, the V8 Is very very quiet.
V8 smoother as well
The v8 in mine is silent, until i put my foot into it, then it makes a really nice noise.
I own a 2022 Model that I purchased new in 2021, that V8 is velvety smooth
Right she’s 🙄
Land Rover beware. Looks good, powerful, and I dare say potentially more reliable once the bugs, if any, are worked out.
It's a Land Rover hood rip off
I see your sarcasm 😂😂😂
Who buys a LR? Lol
Love it. Toyota takes so long to redesign, but when they do its amazing.
But when they do they use AI.
I miss the lexus days of real wood and supple gathered leather...
That is old fashion
@@allentoyokawa9068 exactly the point 👉
@@allentoyokawa9068 I dont think he meant the modern interiors are cheap in comparison. I missed the wood and the beige as well, altho id still take this.
Genesis is doing it properly ... the gv80 is amazing 👏
It looks absolutely fantastic, modern and masculine!
I’d rather spend 30,000 maybe 40,000 on a clean used one but the used market is drying up and that’s what allows these dealers to charge what they’re charging on these new cars. Should be against the law.
Bought a used 18 with 34k miles on it for 31k bucks.. premium in pearl white.. the new one is nice.. but.. that's a big ask for an unproven v6
@@rustbeltrobclassic2512 that V6 has been around for a while. It's proven for sure. The same V6 in their flagship LS car 🤷🏿♂️
@@davidhouston7812 The one in the tundra has had a pretty constant stream of issues. The LS uses the 3.5TT the tundra uses the 3.4TT
@@rustbeltrobclassic2512 same engine. Different tune.
@@davidhouston7812 Pretty sure they have different heads, compression ratios, displacement and cooling designs.. Hopefully the new GX will be reliable, though i still plan on keeping my v8. For 1mpg, it's not worth the added complexity and giving up the world renowned reliability.
This actually looks beastly! I'm not a big fan of SUVs, especially those from Lexus but this looks the part! Great job!
No idea what you're talking about, it looks like literally every other moden SUV.
What’s up with that noisy V8 comment? No Lexus V8 has been noisy since 1989. She’s never ridden in a V8 Lexus obviously. Many other’s caught her comment as well it seems..
I’m glad to see Lexus getting away from that questionable design language they’ve had this last decade. This vehicle looks great.
I've owned my V8 GX so long that the "so called noise," doesn't bother me (Either that or my hearing is going lol as I inch my way towards 60). Nice to finally see the GX evolve, though.
FINALLY A GOOD LOOKING LEXUS
I'm sorry what? Where? Take away the badge I can't tell this from a toyota!!!
Better looking and than LFA? Better looking than an LS 500?
@@TimSlee1LC-500 definitely has the exterior looks and the interior
It's just a far better looking car, almost up there with the RX7 i'd argue.@@DiaperSNiFFER
@@TimSlee1 wait hold 🆙 rx7? Is good looking? 🤢🤮
True test it over deep uneven terrain hold position open & try to close the doors jeeps always fail this test
That's just a small price to pay to be able to remove the doors. No doors equals no door problem :)
The rigidity test is what you’re talking about.
The first Lexus I'd consider buying. The design is stunning!
I don’t know about the new GX550 yet. But to me as owner of 2019 GX460 it’s loud when first startup the engine causes it has mechanical fan blowing and not that smooth driving as many people commented. It slows for passing with old powertrain. Nothing wrong with my current GX. It just how it is. Yes, it’s a bit smoother than the truck but that’s all beside Lexus name. As far as I probably agree about reliability and longevity of the older models. She could be right about the new GX550 with new technology except it’s turbo, mpg not improved much and more expensive.
This is imo, the ultimate/multi purpose SUV.
Would love to see an electric GX!
I’ll wait for the Land Cruiser.
Let's hope that they keep the grill less and less "spindley".
When a model ‘starts’ at Premium and goes up from there, I know I’m not the target audience 😂
The '24 Lexus GX is stunning, if it is as reliable as all Toyota and Lexus models then the SUV is a good choice for me.
Nice competition from Lexus. Diesel excursions still reigning supreme.
When the 2024 US Land Cruiser finally emerges with MSRP and accurate specs, it sure will be interesting to compare the GX and the LC for value.
I was giving a hard look at the LC until I found out only the GX will have the good power train. That alone is enough to push me to the GX.
All the Lexus suv look good. I still like my g wagon though
The less body roll was very convincing w/o showing the body roll
You'll have to take our word for it until we put it through our slalom course during our full review.
@@MotorweekHow's body roll compared to 4 runner?? My 2022 runner sways like ship at sea on uneven roads.
Needs sway bar disconnect and adaptive suspension on ALL trims !!!!!!!!!
Can they put that engine on the supra?
"Traditional" PRNDL shifter in a modern automatic is refreshing... I absolutely love that Toyota isn't messing around with those stupid shift dials like ford and ram
Nice!👍
Beneath this is the 99 Cadillac Escalade. Which one looks better?
The person narrating the video sounds so much like the Watchmojo lady 😅
Finally moving away from that horrendous, fugly, “spindle” grill design. Let’s hope it spreads quickly to the rest of the Lexus models.
I would own a GX Overtrail.... if I could afford one.
65 starting... Jesus take the wheel
Toyota motors are known for unmatched reliability.
Those turbos are not engineered by Toyota..... Have fun when they fail before the engine does.
Nice job, Toyota.
Pull a page from the book of Lincoln. Charge an absurd amount of money for your largest luxury SUV, and half ass the placement of the rear wiper.
I wonder what % of these will ever be taken off-road. 😆
The Social Media crowd, looking for likes, clout, followers.. Social media has got a tight hold on these kids/young crowd.
0%
1/2 of those that are bought used in a few years. I see a lot of used ones outfitted for off-road here in Colorado
@@shaunjones3036 Exactly.
In the midwest winter snows
$70,000. Holy cow.
Bargain compared to a bronco
Because Lexus always equals cheap, right? Lol
Worth EVERY penny
@@AnimatedtoasterReal competitor: Land Rover Defender.
@@Animatedtoaster
The new GX is just like a Bronco…
Except the roof and doors aren’t removable, it won’t be as fun to drive, and won’t have anywhere near the off-road capability of the Bronco.
“Great Value” Bronco for the office cowboy posers.
Will sell like HOTCAKES
If you can’t afford to buy a car in full with cash…you can’t afford it.
If that the case no car manufacturer will exist and you will still ride a donkey.
If you can’t afford to buy a car twice in cash, you can’t afford it
Looks like it was designed by a computer rather than humans with any passion.
WRONG, TOTALLY WRONG
It probably was, but SUV buys want rubbish like this so they're not a difficult audience to market to.
@@allentoyokawa9068 thank you, Donald!
I hear Twin turbo and i run to the hills. No thanks
Why would anyone take a $65k+ suv off-road?
Why not? It’s totally capable of, actually, it was made for off-road driving.
They don't. These and 99% of SUVs are pavement queens...
Not even actually overpriced when compared to the Ford Bronco, Chevy Tahoe, and even the 2024 the current Toyota 4runner SUV Limited Edition too
Americans pay $100k for pick up trucks...
No idea what people are talking about saying that this looks good, it's just another big ugly SUV with sharp lines. Looks like it was designed by AI.
V8 GX460 all the way:)
We want 0-60
Soon! We're just waiting for Lexus to send us a GX so we can put it through straight line testing on our test track. Stay tuned...
@@Motorweek but you didn’t do it off camera 🎥 and come to a stop? 🤫 😏
@@Motorweek like you must have done a little pull 💪 could u give us an estimate? 😉
Noce
So they made a Range Rover...
…..a RELIABLE Range Rover!
No! They made a Toyota/Lexus!! Can’t compare it to unreliable junk! C’mon!
Put Range Rover badges on it and people would think it is a Range Rover...@@mr.c493
I thought it was a 4Runner when I first saw it .Whats with the Pluses? Cant they be more creative? It looks better but 99.9% of Lexus owners wont even drive on gravel let alone off road... and yeah the Lexus V8 was sooooooooo incredibly loud (rolls eyes). LOL. I like it but no need for an SUV
Had you popped that L off the grill and glued a Nissan badge on there I would have been completely fooled into believing I was looking at a Pathfinder refresh. I think I would be looking for a low mileage previous gen.
Sorry...she not missing V8 ..
Is this the new Jeep Liberty or Jeep Commander?
The exterior is hideous on an otherwise fine interior.
Sorry she doesnt fit to commenting on this SUV.
It looks too boxy!
Motorweek is a joke! Absolutely biased reviews to the highest bidder! Buyer beware!
It's now MotorWoke.
The review is BORING! Find a new JD!
No V8??? *yawn*. NEXT!
we don't care, MOVE ON
…..V-8s are DEAD my friend. 🤷🏼♂️🤔🤷🏼♂️
This Toyota looks hideous and the interior is cheap. Pass
Welp, when that airbag goes off those teeth & glasses will shatter. Give yourself some more distance lady
I wonder if you can get power pedals so you don't have to sit so close.
I’m 5 feet tall. Thats how I have to sit in vehicle to drive it. Having about 12 inches of distance between myself and the steering wheel is the best I can do and considered safe.
@@jessicaray5119 my wife is 4’10” & used to sit that close. We are both EMS & I said to that she should reconsider sitting so close to the wheel, not only because of air bag deployment, but also the trauma caused by the impact of the wheel to the torso & knees. Let me tell you, it is NOT a pretty sight. But of course I truly hope you don’t ever have to experience a motor vehicle accident like that, especially since your career is driving motor vehicles. 🤙🏼
That is so ugly
Só o que estragou no vídeo , foi uma mulher apresentando o carro ! 🥱
What a bloatbox
Interior still looks cheap and no real tech upgrades .
ummm it does NOT look cheap
U can’t afford it
Ineos Grenadier anytime
“Better in almost every way…” except towing. 😢
9000 pounds is plenty for a vehicle like this, if you need more then you're likely shopping for a 1 ton pickup instead.
Class leading 9,000 lbs of towing capacity isn't good enough for you? lol
@@Motorweek just wish there's option for a bigger fuel tank, towing a 6000 lb trailer with a 21 gallon tank, wonder how far you can travel. This will be your next review
I’ll answer both of you at once. Tundras with the same T6 engines that towed have had engines replaced with as little as 22k miles. Additional load + turbo charging + the additional RPM = more heat + more wear and tear which = shorter engine life. They cannot tow the weights of the 8 cylinder engines did. Simply put, the 8 cylinder engine could tow an 8000 pound trailer up and down mountains all day, the T6 although awesome hasn’t been able to do the same with the same RELIABILITY. Sure, they hit the peak at lower rpm’s, but going up a grade with weight while they perform excellent in tests, are not meant for THAT level of sustained load without issues. Don’t misunderstand me, excellent daily driver! Just not a “work truck.”
@@Erin-Thorare you talking about isolated incidents or is that a fact for every T6 🧐🤷🏿♂️🤔
