@@mushroomhead3619 Ha! I hear ya! Nor did they mention Peter Cushing's name. Those two pillars of horror film remain my absolute favourite duo ever put to film. I just love the old Hammer Horror films ....literally ALL the Dracula films (even those without Cushing) ALL of the Frankenstein films (even those without Lee). If I see that those two are in a film together, I'm going to watch it. As I understand, they were the best of friends off-screen. Oh man....old horror films are so much better than the F/X , CGI crap-scare films being churned out for teenagers these days.
I remember seeing this first time when I was 15 years old. I had very high fever and for a long time I did not know if this was a real movie or some kind of fever nightmare. It haunted me years before I finally saw this again. What a great movie.
I'm so glad I watched the trailer before the film because I would have got major whiplash, I was expecting it to be a dark gothic piece like Poe's poem, I was wrong, I was so wrong. part of me wishes I didn't watch the trailer just to know what it would be like to go in blind to this. also there was a review or comment posted about this film where the reviewer said he wished he could live in Roger Corman's Poe films because it's such a happy and colourful world, I just found that review/comment so charming.
Really. One of the BEST movies ever...that provided a humorous spin on classic literature. BORIS, VINCENT, AND PETER must have had a fun time making this film. Interesting effects for the time it was made, I remember well seeing this at our local, era 1920s, theater down town. A Friday and Saturday night hang-out for kids and teens.
2:04 Thrifty Corman used that shot of a burning frame falling forward again and again. This is a rare case of a director sending himself up successfully. Just the thing for a cold, dark night. Lorre ad-libbed a lot. Price gave back as good as he got but Karloff, who wanted to stick to the script, grew flustered. He was ailing and found the physical side of the magic dueling scenes, and his heavy cloak, tiring.
God, thank you that you did not give us a spirit of confusion but of power, love and a sound mind. I pray soundness of mind over Gods creation in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff together in a film. What a treat!
retrogaming And young Jack Nicholson!
Sadly no Christopher Lee

MY MOM TOOK ME TO SEE THIS WHEN I WAS 8 OR 9 , I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT ! LOVED IT!
Very probably the inspiration for Steve Ditko's "DR. STRANGE". In the early episodes, he looked like Vincent Price!
Now he looks like Benedict Cumberlatch
He actually was! In the trivia (somewhere, I forgot where) Stranges middle name is Vincent after Price. I think Lee was a fan of him.

Poe would have pitched a fit. This actually was funny, not the least bit terrifying. But worth watching, repeatedly.

Campy horror-movie brilliance with a stellar cast. I remember seeing a trailer for The Raven way back when but not necessarily this particular one.
Gonna watch this soon. It's been a while
Very much looking forward to watching and critiquing it
Ah yes I do remember how the poem the raven had so much to do with magic and fights to the death.
+The Reviewer: James M. Nicholson said, "Poe writes the first reel or the last reel. Roger does the rest."
This movie rocks, Tubi has it.
I have to laugh my head off seeing Jack Nicholson here!
lol and your forgetting Jack Nicholson! I believe his first movie. I saw all the Vincent Price classics he was the best there is of his genre.
He also played as zigzag from the thief and the cobbler for over 20 year before his death.
+Henry Stone: This was Jack Nicholson's seventh film. He debuted in 1958's "The Cry Baby Killer."
His first movie was in 1958 called cry baby killer he played a character called Jimmy Wallace its on you tube
What a cast 🤘
I thought this was a horror movie with a pinch of comedy but I was so wrong 😅 I loved it!!!
OMG I CANT BELIEVE JACK NICHOLSON PLAYED W VINCENT PRICE & BORIS KARLOFF! OMG 😱
1:42 Madvilliany
talk about classic :-)
2:20 What dafuq!! They made final speech!!!? so strange!!! Whaaaaeeet!!!
This was shown at the showdown of “Targets” by Peter Bogdanovich. A film about a serial killer/shooter.
That was actually The Terror from 1963.

Nevermore.

OMG Becky! Jack was just 24(!) When he did this! He was so young just starting out. Where on earth did corman find him?
He had been in Corman's 'Little Shop of Horrors' three years before, as the nut who digs going to the dentist.

So... what’s this movie about?
A raven
I've been asked that question times before.
I've said it once,
I've said it twice.
I shall answer it, nevemore.
