Omg so true like I have my dads old pirate Lego ships from 1989 they are so good it would be nice to see a modern remake like the big islands and huge ships
Really wish Lego would go back to their old themes instead of banking so hard on other IPs. How many more X-Wings, Batmobiles and Hogwarts can they even release? Would much rather see new sets from LEGO Adventurers, Orient Expedition, Castles, Pirates, Western or even TimeCruisers without the hefty "popular IP" price tag.
i think that themes like pirates, orient expedition and western will have a hard time for a comeback outside of a movie-theme. Since, if they try to display those theme worlds at least somewhat complete, they will have to design native islanders, indian/islamic ppl and culture and native americans/indian tribes. Which, as we know, is hard to do without risking a major shitstorm these days. I dont think Lego will risk that. And without those aspects, the themes become hollow/lacking and kind of senseless. But still, i wish the same. More themes from the 90s in a fresh make-over instead of the 26th version of the very same Star Wars Spaceship :) Lego is in many ways no longer a toy of imagination but of imitation since most sets come in the context of an already existing story line which children replay over and over again. I feel like that restricts the fantasy and the ability to develope own characters, worlds and stories ...
I'd love some culturally iconic sets such as an "Oscars Will Smith Rampage Battle Pack" , a "Caitlyn Jenner Hit n Run City Modular" and a "Britney Spears Shaven BrickHeadz"
lol this is the first time that i hear about the german Lego Pirates audio plays xD even though i was a lego child in the late 80s and the 90s ^^ how were those tapes distributed? *edit: Some of them are available on youtube 🤩 AWESOME!
atcually a new theme that lego can tap into for the pirates is the Mediterranean. for starters its more diverse with the ottomans and the venitians, plus a slight side mention to maltese pirates. here we can see more varied ships and galleys as well as legos first take at a non licensed middle eastern series. another interesting pirate hub is china with the junks and qing empire making colourful and interesteing sets and minifigs, as well as other colonials like the dutch. just saying
Trying to collect all the vintage and 2009 sets, mostly there missing a couple. Each to their own but can’t stand the junior etc still want Armada flagship and skulls eye schooner but prices crippling
The classic Pirates set up to Islanders are the better sets. So much playablity with just a few pieces. I have some of the sets shown. The remakes of classic set look good, no question. But the old ones are the better sets. I don't say that for nostalgica.
lego, we need more pirates and castles sets
You forgot western
Bring back Ice Planet 2002 and Aquazone too
@@Mac10Daddy if we are at it.. might as well do adventures too
@@StripedZebra33 yes. Do them all
We all love vintage lego..
Absolutely historic and artistic
Best original lego theme?
My dream from childhood - 0:10 all the pirate sets. Specially ships. Memories and dreams come back so hard.

We. Need. More. Pirates!
My favorite theme.
Pirtaes of the Caribbean is the GOOD Stuff! Pirates in general is one of the best themes.
The islanders theme was the 🐐
Pirates had the better ships, Imperials had the better bases.
Oh man, I still remember the Christmas where I got that big OG pirate ship like it were yesterday.
Same! I took it apart waaay too soon. I miss it.

We have been starting to get some remakes of classic sets from icons like the Eldorado fortress and lions knights castle
Awesome collection!
Vidiyo has its fans, we've just never met them.
They go to a different school.
Nobody has ever met them.
Hey, I liked Vidiyo. Mostly as a CMF proxy, but the sets were generally interesting
WOW, I have never been jealous before!
Captain Redbeard is my favorite LEGO Pirate!
Yo ho ho and a good morning to you 🏴☠️

The 2015 wave should be removed off the table in my opinion lmao.
