Too bad YS 10 is a prequel to YS 3. The chronological order is stupid, none of the games even references previous events from other Ys titles except in-game items you get from purchase bonuses like Adol's old red armor from YS 1-6 and Trinkets from unnamed characters with useless stats.

I love Ys 8, but Ys 9 feels like a more polished game personally. The ending felt very wholesome. However, there's a lot of reading in this game. On base PS4 I had no real issues. I do hope the game gets a technical upgrade.
Im not gonna lie, as someone who played Y 9 then 8 i prefer Ys 8. I think its cuz i love the island setting on 8 and Ys 9 always felt...enclosed? well until you get to leave the city. Both games slapped tho
@@RasenRendanX fair point. Ys 9 traversing between the levels opened new ways of travel. Ys 8 is an amazing game, but a collection of ship passengers was annoying task personally.
This game made a Falcom fan. After playing the demo for this i bought the game day 1 on PS4 and got the platinum trophy. then i Platinum-ed Ys 8. then i went on to spend 2 years playing all 4 Cold Steel games. I can't wait to see Ys X Nordics
The ps4 digital deluxe version is on sale for $30, I wonder if it would be better to buy that? I've never played any of these but I love the tales series, would it be worth it to just buy the ps4 version?

@@mhveteranex4303 Ill go back to it someday, but they put too much enfasis on the characters development and the game lost the flow of VIII. I love games with great characters and stories (my favorite 2022 game is Triangle Strategy), but Ys luminous point is the combat, when i play it im not in the mood to read 1/2 hour.

This is the greatest Action RPG ever created. The music, the action, the characters, just everything about it is incredible. YS X will be fantastic.

YS 8 is an absolute masterpiece, this one, meh it had such horrible framerate on my base PS4 it wasn't fun at all.
VIII its the best in the series, Celceta its there too. IX just try too hard to be a Trails action game, too much text.
I agree. My gosh, VIII really left a great impression on me and I doubt the upcoming Ys X will overthrow it anytime soon.
