The first track alone is a perfect example of what you're getting yourself into. Such great songs in this game, I would replay it in its entirety for its soundtrack, not to mention everything else that's great about this game as well.
I REALLY CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! i probably i'll wait even more, cause i play on steam, this past 4 months i've been playing through all the Ys series, i was a fan of Trails series and loved it's music, but never played any Ys game, then some day, i had some extra bucks and bought all the games on steam summer sale.... I HAVE NO FREAKING REGRETS! i love Trails series, but the adrenaline and adventureness(does that word exist? xD) that Ys make me feel... i think i've found my new favorite franchise.
At present i'm playing the last one available, Lacrimosa of Dana, i'm 20 hours into the game and already feel sad 'cause i'll have to wait a lot until Monstrum NOX gets localized... i hope is not NISA though ... Dana port has given me some trouble(which i solved with modding and doing some stuff on my PC)
@@AcidBurst1 sorry for the late reply, and yes... Absolutely ! 100+ hours, and the new patch for Steam makes it even better and adds a cooperative mode, one of the best adventure games.ive ever played ! I love my boi Adol ❤️.
Ya know a game is amazing when the ost still randomly pops up in your head even though you beat the game months ago. Man I enjoy games like this, Omari and the tales series. Just wish I had more time but at the same time less time makes it so much more special
Ys series as a whole has the most beautiful/captivating music, it shows their versatility of emotions they try to implement in each song, from mellow, melancholy, eerie, heavenly and to badass metal rock music, Ys in my opinion is the best🥰
that song in 24:51 caught me by surprise, i was jamming so much i forgot that i was also trying to keep track of the treasure chests and was just killing everything i see. also liked desert after tears, really good.
This is a fine selection. It hits basically all the great action tracks, though I do like Full Moon Ceremony. If I made it i would maybe put that in, and have Aprilis show up for song XIII.
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last days xD
Glessing Way sounds really nice but Norse Wind is by far my favourite. Always takes me back to when I played this game and this track does fit perfectly to the adventure vibe!
Bravo Link17! Bravo! I definitely agree that IX's soundtrack is one of the lesser in the series, but with some great stuff nonetheless. I may offer a suggestion, (though this would likely be a lot of work), I think it would be really cool if you made a best of playlist for the entire Ys series, and I'd personally love to see how you'd do it. P.S. Ys fanbase, plz don't hate me for saying I like Knock on NOX best out of all of these.
Knock on NOX is pretty good. And I kinda wanna do that, not sure if I will tho. At the very least I plan to do other things before that, but it's not out of question entirely! Thanks for your suggestion and appreciation :)
Overall I found Ys IX to have one of the lesser OSTs in the series. Don't get me wrong though, it's still quite enjoyable. There are some pretty good bangers, and one or two instant classics. I think I made a solid selection of tracks though, so don't worry too much and let's get jamming. And try to keep things mature in comments. I've seen a lot of hate for a specific composer going around, and honestly being a whiny prick doesn't make anything better. Discuss in a civil manner, and let's hope the next Ys game is a step up in music quality.
To be honest, that composer is a "hit-and-miss" for me. Some of his compositions are quite good (and some make my ears bleed). Maybe it's the lack of his consistency to create great compositions like Sonoda and Unisuga. or because people are used to Unisuga and Sonoda quality of music that they can't help but rage against him since it's not on par.
I disagree. For me it's one of the better ones. It's my number 3 after Seven and 8. I find the soundtrack much better than 2, 5 and Celceta and just better than Felghana, 1 and 6. Maybe because I think that the dissonant style of tracks fits the theme of fighting invisible demons make out of enmity and the bleakness of prison in city mourning over being conquered.
@@Gnidel Cool to see that someone likes it so much, good for you then! Ranking it above Celceta is absolutely unnaceptable for me hahaha, but that's how having personal tastes works :p
As is custom for the Ys OSTs, it's nearly impossible to put them in any order as they are all amazing, but out of this selection, Crossing A/A, Norse Wind and Cloaca Maxima are my top 3 favorites. Although it's one of the weakest games in the series, it's still got a pretty solid OST and one of my absolute all time video game characters ever, Credo. So it's not all bad. But clearly an end of an era, so to speak.
Might just be because it's so new and i've still got the game fresh in my memory (just beat it a couple of days ago) but I actually like quite a few of the tracks in this game over 8's. It's got some really low, well, lows but at it's highest I think the composers were really on the ball with this ost, very few songs that I would say I disliked but i've been really plastered to this one over the last few days. Honestly, my only real hangups with this ost is that the song used for two pretty major boss fights (you probably know the ones) completely let down the hype building up to them.
No way is this one of the weaker sound tracks this is the best one since Ys iv The Dawn of Ys imo and I've listened to them all. It is pretty much splitting hairs deciding which is best since I think every Ys game kills it with the music.
If there's a specific order based on your preference, I'll kudo for placing Wild Card at where it deserves. It's a shame that you put Cloaca Maxima and Glessing Way too low though but welp
Not really on order of preference at all. Every playlist order I come up with is aiming to make a nice listening experience, trying to balance songs based on quality and style (kinda like you'd organize the songs in a music album). And my favorite songs are the first two. :P I put them first to hook people in. And Wild Card might be my third favorite, I just thought it was perfect to end the playlist with a bang.
@@LinVGMPlaylists I see. I didn't play and hear music from a lot of Ys games, since I only know 3 games, so I don't know. But I'd ranked VIII>SEVEN. Not sure how I put Felghana < or > than SEVEN.
I made another playlist with more tracks from Ys 9! ua-cam.com/video/lh0Pq-6873M/v-deo.html

Lovely picture at the very last second of the video.
thanks for the collection. 4 of these songs are classics to me after playing the game.
Desert after tears my favorite :)
Monstrum Spectrum grew on me sooo much. I was kind of "meh", when it played the first few times. But at some point it started to kick ass.
6:31 that just got me a like. I don't know who that is but I liked it

Agreed, but you didn't include Quarry Ruin which is a classic Ys dungeon theme :) One of the few songs in Ys IX which is actually very "Ys-like"

Had to come back to this vid to play it over the awful Ni No Kuni 2 soundtrack, just to enjoy it more.
In ys games. Why is every song a banger???
You missed Quarry Ruin, by far the best Ys IX song.
It is pretty good. In fact I went to listen to it again and found a comment in there from myself that explained why I wasn't a huge fan of it though.
Could you possess make an updated version with the super ultimate OST stuff like catch me if you can became S tier in that
