@brian' I do but in today's time, too many people think UA-cam videos and Google searches can replace formal education. I see so many on social media try to speak about evolution, anthropology, philosophy, linguistics, and other sciences simply because they read a CNN article written by a mainstream atheist scientist.

He spend 10 minutes saying nothing because he seemed afraid to really tell the truth. So the comment section remains confused.
Men = fuck/marry anything hot or beautiful, they don't give a fuck as long as it's either of those and sometimes ugly does the job, but they don't marry ugly, has to be hot or beautiful. They marry ugly if they have no other choice.
And women marry anything into money and success. They don't marry beauty or hotness.

A couple years ago my wife and I were at a family function(we are in our mid 30s with 3 little girls of our own). 2 of her distant cousins arrived who are both in their early 20s. 10lbs of makeup, fake lashes, fake nails, fake boobs, fake everything; but definitely a commanding presence in the restaurant. I can see it on my wife that she was flooded with insecurity in an instant. I reassured her that being a hot girl pales in comparison to being a beautiful woman. I think the perspective given in this video proved to be true in this instance because that statement visibly lifted her countenance.

"Beauty," on the other hand, at least for me, has to do with attractiveness outside the realm of physical attraction, with some crossover into the physical forms.

And even if it was only an internet bizarre phenomenon this wouldn’t mean less since now social media madness and pressure can - and do - twist people’s image forever irl and even fire them.
Society’s integration with the internet is not something apart like it used to be, it’s now an extension of people’s lives with rules and laws that apply outside of it too, and an affront to speech here is not something you can just escape by disconnecting your modem anymore unfortunately.

@n cw While that might be true I think most people that cheat cheat because they are cheaters. Hence the phrase "how you got em is how you lose em". They will likely cheat on the hot girl too and cheat at a lot of things in life not just relationships, it's just a general character flaw they posses. If your partner cheats in games/school/business etc. Watch. Your. Back.
Another reason is because their chosen "life-partner" (the hot and beautiful one they married) is a prude. Which is why you'll come across stories of guys with beautiful smoking hot wives and not very attractive mistresses. The mistress actually puts out which was the whole point of having a hot wife in the first place.

I think hotness is superficial, while beauty goes deeper. I've seen women as well as men who were hot, but not terribly interesting or bright. They might be good to look at, but would you want to try to have a deep and meaningful conversation about the mysteries of the universe with them if they could never get past their looks or what others thought of them? Beauty, on the other hand, involves more than just the physical appearance. It's how they carry themselves, how they can conduct a conversation, whether they had a dark sense of humor, and their personal code of helping others. True beauty, when cultivated effectively, I think gets better with age. It's something I wish more young women could realize, because then they could stop shooting for the unattainable goals of perfection and instead focus on doing the best they can with what they were born with.

As a single hetero male with some experience (57) I have always related hotness to individuality, compassion, intelligence, self sufficiency and determination. I always find the woman who doesn't need to be with me, but chooses to, to be the hottest. She also must have strength of character. Being readily available sexually is a bit of a turn off, however counter-intuitive that sounds. When I used to go to singles bars back in the day, I would always watch for the woman that would rebuff guys all night. She would be the one I would approach, and usually be able to flirt with successfully. I have met, and dated some very smart and discerning women that way. The women most men don't get to be with. THAT is hot! Usually a lot less drama as well, as they tend to be well grounded in themselves.

It's still an outward manifestation of inner qualities, but it's not purely internal. The prettier woman with no sexual physicality might need to be more active or do yoga or explore Latin dance or do something external like that. It's inside AND outside regardless how you look.

To me his looks don’t have to be 100% (though he can’t be “ugly” in my eyes) but the personality needs to be right for me to have any interest at all.

The amount of guys that don’t understand this is nuts. I got a lot of friends who I’d say are in physically better shape and are genetically better looking (I’m not bad looking but hardly a supermodel) but have no swagger, wit, confidence in themselves beyond just their physical appearance. The result is that I’ve struggled way less in basically all my interactions platonic or not with women. And funniest of all they’ve never had any sort of curiosity as to why that’s the case outside of remarking angrily that I don’t go to the gym so that doesn’t make sense lmao.

Hmm. This puts being told I was "the hottest girl in highschool" in a new light. An abusive childhood (aka "Daddy issues"), a giant chest and eating disorders, and I was considered bangable. These days, the pain of so many heart and body breaking events and the strength to overcome them and fight through.. I've been told I am beautiful and unattainable more times than I can remember. I think a large part of the difference between "hotness" and beauty is the factor of accessibility or attainability. I carry myself differently now. I look people in the eyes steadily, seriously and defiantly instead of briefly and coyly. Things can change over time. People change. Labels are transitory. Main thing to remember or build is respect of self.

    My two cents:
Hot = body, fitness, hair, makeup, cosmetic surgery, work done, tight clothes, projected confidence, risk taking excitement etc
Beautiful = inside and out, a caring empathetic personality, kindness, fitness/health as in looking after oneself, genetics that cannot be changed with any procedure, sense of style, good self esteem, self-respect, giving back to the world in one way or another
Cute = all about intellect, endearing qualities, uniqueness, personal interests etc and has nothing to do whatsoever with outside appearance
And all 3 makes you a triple threat guy (girl) 😂

I felt the same way when I was your age. I felt very insecure about myself. The thing that changed my life was going to University. I studied dentistry and it automatically boosted my self-esteem like crazyyyy. I felt so confident and proud in myself. I made good money and money also helps boosting your confidence. I also started going regularly to gym and my life really changed. As you get more confident in yourself, you exude that energy of demanding respect and being praised (may sound egotistic). Try doing something in life that will add to your value outside of the physical. attractiveness is mental as well. For me education made the trick. Def agree, but a few things. First off your first sentence was perfect. But in hotness I still do need something alluring from the face. Even something like the smile, or eyes, complexion etc...You also have to put hotness in the same category as sexy then basically. That is what the initial, hormone freak self is feeling, at least that's how I feel.

The reason why ‘hot’ girls are sometimes seen as more attractive than beautiful girls is the ‘hot’ girls truly only care about appearance so, they invest all their time, money and energy into being more physically attractive.
Beautiful women still are competent when it comes to their looks. They take good care of themselves too. However, they also spend time investing in their education, family, friends and passions. They seem to have untapped physical potential and people wonder why they haven’t utilized it. They’ve spent that time elsewhere.

"....not searching for them in the same individual." This last small statement right there holds so much truth. The concept of what men want for their wife (aka the Beauty), and then if they can find the woman they can do all those things to, that they would never do with the mother of their children, this is the Mistress (aka Hotness). However, I do believe women get these persona's confused when trying to attract a man.
Attraction is so subjective. Not everyone is going to find the same characteristics Beautiful or Hot. This was an interesting discussion.

Right. Hotness is glaringly-appealing, head-turning physicality. And this can be subject to one's taste but it is almost always about the objectified person's proportions, vocal timbre, age. All things primally desired in a "mate." Beauty, however, though one might often ruminate on a person's physicality, it is with much more nuance and consideration. With someone beautiful, your first impulse isn't to seed or be seeded (though this may be your second or inevitable impulse) but to luxuriate in their features, lean into them, catch the way the nearest light source illuminates their eyes, their lips, both matching preternaturally perfect in hue with their un-painted skin. Hot is a young, 1995 Yasmine Bleeth. Beautiful is the singular visage of Isabelle Huppert. (add. Our celebrities, namely, actors and models, are hard to equivocate between hot and beautiful by virtue of their being. They are celebrities because they typically exemplify either both labels or begin hot and transition to being beautiful. We should all be so lucky.)

It’s pretty funny when I was watching this I realized my definition of hotness and beauty is reversed from how they describe it. I believe this is probably because how young people now describe actions and other such things as hot, whereas beauty is mainly a physical attributes for at least myself. It was pretty crazy to see just how perfectly my definitions of these 2 words were mirrored.

This is so funny because I JUST said above to a younger guy I am sure-I think you’re mixing up “hot” as they mean it with “beauty.” Beauty in my generation (I’m 44) is what guys married, hit us what they just eff.

"HOTNESS" is about the EFFECT beauty has on a person. Her beauty makes the "blood boil" is to what that expression is referring. In other words, SHE is not hot, SHE makes YOU hot.

Hotness is a unit to measure attractiveness which is raised by improving body composition while enhancing specific muscles and also maintaining healthy skin and hair.

socialization plays a huge role in how we perceive beauty so let's not forget how much of our ideas around beauty are also based on decades of motivated media representation

Abby Mohler 100% correct. It’s very interesting when you look at the history of Gillette Razors & L’Oreal. They were a massive influence in getting people to feel the need to look “prettier” or feel “cleaner” by using their products. The media has also helped build complete social mind constructs that warp a lot of perception of what is, or is not “beauty” recognized today in the Western world.

@3,14 _ All true, except that big breasts have nothing to do with milk production. Small breasts have the same milk ducts and make the same amount of milk as large ones. The current obsession and fetishization of large breasts (especially unnaturally large ones on slender women) is a fairly new and unhealthy phenomenon that seems to have been formed by the porn industry.
