One of the things I love about technology is that I can watch an interview like this (while eating my oatmeal after my morning workout!) of a total stranger literally on the other side of the earth from me, and feel so intensely invested and proud of their story. Congratulations Nicola! Keep up your good work on loving yourself, and your kids too because they also receive the benefit of what you’ve taken on. Sending you heartfelt support from Germany.

Thank you Missy! That is so true the benefit of technology and being around like minded people! Those strangers become like minded friends. Thank you for watching and sending hugs all the way to Germany 😘

Thanks for sharing your journey Nicola. Very inspiring. I am wondering how long did it take for you to recover from your frozen shoulder? I don't have any weight issue, 174cm tall n 62kg and have been on WFPB no oil or refined sugar since 2019. I started having frozen shoulder on my left since July 2020. It is getting better but now my right shoulder started to freeze up. No trauma that I can think of. So very strange how I could get it. My physio told me it's a common issue for people over 50 and I'm 52

Clark yap it was playing yo for two years and it was so painful I couldn’t really sleep at night. I had Physio and that helped a little and I brought a massage gun. However the real pain went after few weeks after eating potatoes only. Whether it was the potatoes I’m not sure? Hard to pinpoint. However it hasn’t come back. I am so careful now at the gym with what I do with my arm as I would hate for it to come back. I hope you manage to get this fixed. Keeping out your oils will help 😘

hello there, new sub here, I came over from Nicola's channel. I watched ur interviews with Chef AJ. I been dieting 55 yrs, b4 finding her. I began doing the starch solution, but, her way. WSOFAS free, instead of SOS free. She says, she was a fat vegan for 42 . I was 238.8lbs, BMI 44, 5'1", nearly bed/home bound at age 66 when i started. Yes, i lost 55 lbs the 1st yr, while still no energy or strength to do any thing but move my arms & legs on the bed. I had CFS, fibro, HBP, pre diabeties, restless legs, acid reflux , heartburn & stomach pain, constipation since birth, . I started doing it, almost like doing Mary's Mini, all the time, 3 yr 3 months tomorrow, watching Chef AJ cooking etc, . I started eating & food prepping like her,& Tammy & Tom Kramer of the Nutmeg Notebook, & dr's. & others. I gave up alcohol too, at age 66 I was so sick & felt 86 instead of 66, NOW, FEEL I just got o a horse first time, n my 69th bday, tnx to my hubby. .Cheese was hardest for me too, til i heard WHAT they are allowed to leave in it, gagging here.. I reversed the aliments, i already mentioned, depression, restless legs, racing heart & mind, itching for no reason, problems, gone, angioedema every 2nd day, gone, no more cane, i had for 13 yrs., Yes, dr's give an educated guess. my dr. told me i am his star patient , told hubby to eat what i eat & listen to me,. dr was too busy to ask how i was doing it tho, & he's now retired leaving us with no dr.. i am 69, hubby 61. My insomnia is the only thing that hasn't reversed for me. I think it is the hot flashes. i got off 5 meds, I do eat 1 lb non starch veg, withy 1lb spuds, i do mix sweet & regular spuds, twice a day. i have eaten at least 2200lbs in my 3 yrs.. & i used to listen to, don't eat spuds, they make u fat. & u need to eat meat for proteins, & dairy for calcium, etc.. i yo yo'ed all those yrs, being hungry, all the time. But, this time, at age 66 i did it for my health & reversed all those i mentioned plus, more. I am loving living life again, beside hubby, working in the fire wood, etc.. Yes Nic, it's the processed cards, that are bad, & all that pple put on spuds, i mainly used ketchup, It took me 35 yrs to gain 120 + lbs, & that WAS me, TRYING to not gain, Imagine, if, i had of eaten what i wanted, when i wanted & how much i wanted. My vices were alcohol, party mix, pizza & ice cream, 2-4 liters LOW FAT, a wk.. Today, i have lost 99lbs to date, 140 lbs, 27 BMI, size 10 skinny jeans, & xs-sm tops. Okay, this is getting too long. I THOUGHT i had already subbed, way back, but guess i didn't til tonight. I felt like shouting it from the roof tops, u can reverse these illnesses & loss weight, & feel like a million bucks, but, i started my own small channel, too, I didn't just want to TELL pple, i wanted to SHOW them, & at any age. A few are telling me, what an inspiration i am. & that was my mission. GREAT interview Nic & Spud [Andrew] tfs take car & bee safe 👍💪🥔🍠🌽

What about for people with lower end of bmi (18) or normal weight ? Will they gain weight by eating potatoes only ?
Good interview! Thank you for sharing

I think it’s good to remember that BMI is a guideline and can be variable depending on different factors. For instance my sister-in-law comes from an Asian background and although we are the same height we have a very different body structure. So even at the same clothing size we both have different BMIs (21.6 vs about 18.5). So I would say make sure that regardless of whether you need (or just want) to go up on the scale or down on the scale that you’re taking into account your personal actual body. But in general I would say you need to add calories to gain weight. People who tend to the slimmer side can always add things like guacamole to bump up calories, or add things like Chia seeds to your morning oats… also lift heavy, add muscle, which can certainly be done via potatoes, again it’s about calories at that point.

It probably depends on the person. I couldn't do it. Maybe if I had ate a LOT of potatoes I could have. I've switched to mostly rice and have my bmi up to 20 and that's where it's stopped.

@LifeofBeauty K Junk food addiction causes obesity for most people but not all. I've known a few skinny folks who lived on junk food. Also food addiction is not always about junk food. People often become addicted to foods that they're allergic to. I have a bunch of food allergies, the worst of which is wheat which for most people is a healthy food. Even tiny amounts cause my joints to swell up. Because of this it wasn't hard to give it up but it WAS hard to get past the cravings. A pizza commercial on tv could send me into overdrive. It was just a bite of the crust I wanted! I'd start feeling depressed and sorry for myself. I'd heard about Andrew's experience so I thought why not try it? Going on a potatoe only diet for a while reset my brain, stopped the cravings and made me appreciate what I COULD eat. Yes I lost weight I didn't want to but I was focused on my joints not my weight, figured I'd deal with that later. My point is that its not always about weight.

Agree with everyone’s comments Ellison. I think Megafoods would be good for you. If you are healthy and do not have food addictions then you do not really need to do spuds only. I did it because I had a big problem with eating and not being able to lose weight. However I have heard that if you are normal weight and eat this way I do not think you would lose but your weight would level to where it should be?? I.e larger people lose weight and people under weight gain?? Not sure though. Sounds like you are doing well without it. 😘 thanks for watching

I'm yet to see anyone gain fat from doing this, I don't think it's possible to gain fat while following my rules 100%. Definitely worth checking out the Mega Foods Plan too, it's included in our membership so you can check out both options and decide for yourself - spudfit.com/course/

Excellent you too how impressive! Congratulations Nichola!!!!!! Andrew such a great coach and I love the story about the Doctor Who just started doing spud fit on a zone and contacted Andrew after proving how successful it can be to himself! I also love the part about iron iron is a challenge for me. When I was younger I was vegetarian and then after I ran to New York City marathons I started to eat some meat so I could donate blood and especially white blood cells and platelets. I love being vegan and I never wanna go back to eating any sentient being. I tried to donate blood and I was told I have enough iron for me but I don't have enough for. I eat whole food plant-based and I'm adding healthy fats and maintaining a 40 pound weight loss so I'm happy. I do want to lose maybe five more pounds but I'd like to gain 5 pounds of muscle!

    • @SpudFit

Personally I don't know how long it took for me. I had my blood pressure checked on day 1 and then again after 3 months. It was excellent at the 3 month mark but I can't tell you exactly when it got to that point for me. I have worked with many people now though and it is very common to start seeing improvemements in only a day or two. A close frined of mine had been on blood pressure medication for over 30 years and was able to stop taking it completely after only two weeks of potatoes.
