    I sat through the whole video and I so appreciate your explanation of the bobbin and its function you brought up some really good points about the wire stress. Thank you so much.

    I always use bobbins but never thought about using a drill to wrap the wire onto them. Great tip!

    Seth you are a genius! This is a very useful video and you did a fine job of rigging that up. I can easily do that., The bobbin you are using I would recommend to everyone. Its the EZ-Bob Bobbin and comes in multiple sizes, from 1.8" diameter to 3.5" diameter. Once you wrap your wire, the top flips down and covers it preventing unwinding of wire, thread, etc, and also keeps it enclosed and clean. I love those bobbins. They hold a lot but mainly for thin wire or half round.
    I bought 22 gauge Half Round Copper wire in a coil, not spooled. Soon as I used it, it became a tangled mess. Trying to wind it by hand resulted in a disfigured wire that is all twisted up and unusable. So sad. I'm thinking that I will get a wire drawplate, run it through the same dimension hole, and straighten it out this way while spooling with a drill a few yards at a time. I have 50 ft of wire. Has anyone ever done this? Anyone know of a good quality Half Round Draw Plate? Hard to find shapes other than Round drawplates.
    Best to keep these videos shorter with some editing. I removed my previous rude comment, sorry. Really appreciate your tip.
    Thanks for no music so I can focus!

    Ever tried using a free standing thread stand for a sewing machine for those bigger spools? Obviously don't take it up through the upper hook, just let it run off the spool as it spins. I use one for my leather lace spools and they work a treat😉

    I learned so much! Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I knew I needed a bobbin, I just didn't know why since it still kept kinking up on me. Now I know how to use it properly. Thanks again! Can't wait to see the bracelet tutorial!

    Very informative great job!! I’ve been using bobbins for about 10 years after learning about them from Sarah Thompson’s Craftsy. I don’t know how I ever did anything with wire before! Kinda like the internet how did we as the human race get on with cell phones!! People had to actually wait for you to get home to call and now people answer the phone in the bathroom!

    I love using bobbins for wire weaving, but I was winding by hand. I think I'll have to try the drill.

    • @sethedelinski348
      @sethedelinski348  3 роки тому

      Yeah I was not only getting a lot of hand cramps from winding by hand, but I was also using up so much of my actual wire wrapping time.

    Seth, I have some of those spools but have you seen or tried these Beadalon 25-Piece Spool Tamer Sets ? They are amazing and so adjustable on almost any size spools of wire, no more crazy mess. Amazon has these for 17.85 for 25 pieces..you will love them. The adjustable plastic buckle has a hole in it to put your wire through so you just pull out what you need without having to recoil. Great idea though on loading those spools, thank you.

    • @sethedelinski348
      @sethedelinski348  2 роки тому

      Yes I do have some of those. I don't use them much though. Just personal preference. Not to mention I don't think they fit or trust them on my bulk spools. So I would still have to transfer to a standard spool. If you only buy that size spool though it's definitely a viable option.

    That's fascinating about keeping the bobbin closer to the base wires as to not twist the wire. It makes perfect sense How do you measure it for IRS/inventory purposes? I normally put a piece of painters tape every 12" and that is where I have the bobbin. Thanks if you can reply.

    • @sethedelinski348
      @sethedelinski348  3 роки тому

      That's a really good tip as well. I don't a tally do a whole lot of measuring to be honest. Some pieces I will but 90% of the time I just estimate.

    • @annploetz8916
      @annploetz8916 3 роки тому

      @@sethedelinski348 Well it is a pain. I might just start unrolling a bit and using a sharpie to mark 12" increments. I really like your style. It makes total sense. I didn't do inventory correctly the first few years so I am trying to make up for it. Estimating isn't my strong suit. I'm having to do that with old pieces I have done that I am currently selling.

    Does half round wire work with a bobbin?

    • @sethedelinski348
      @sethedelinski348  2 роки тому

      I mean you could put half round on one, you just need to make sure it's going on straight and not getting twisted.
