The Gibson ES330 looks nice, but for the price point I would check out the Heritage H530 first. They are easily on the same level, if not a little higher quality.
Agreed. I own more slimline hollowbodies than any other type and of all the ones I own the best Gibson one in my collection is my 2018 Memphis ES-330 (satin black, no binding), I dig the all black look but swapped out the burst buckers with some Lollar gold foils. I felt the Slim Harpo and Epi USA models left a LOT to be desired in the QC dept. The Heritage and Ibanez Artstar ES-330 type guitars absolutely smoke anything Gibosn has put out in a while. They totally missed out on doing something nice with an ebony fretboard to stand apart from the USA Casino
Heck, the PRS SE made overseas Hollowbody is unbelievably good for the price. Flame binding, even inside the f-holes! Gibson would probably charge 10 times the price!
How do you recommend they cut costs? Decrease staff pay? Cut corners in production ? Maybe get some parts from overseas ? Nah. That price is relative when looking at many different markets like the automotive industry for example. Imo at least it seems like they are trying to be accessible from many different price points.
A two ply binding on that red mahogany top (white inside, black outside) would be interesting. That would show the black binding better. Maybe two ply the fret board too? Who knows?
The 330 is wonderful but it's nothing more than a Casino with a nitro finish and fret nibs. Epiphone already makes really great Casinos and I don't see the incentive to pay Gibson prices without any real advantages. They should at least have mounted the neck like a 335 to give it better access to the upper frets.
I played a 330 from about 15 years ago back to back with a MIJ Terada 90s casino. The casino was a great guitar but it couldn’t compete for tone and playability. That says the 330 is CS and the long neck variety (335 style).

2:40 no, the lack of a maple top does not give you more midrange. (Neither does nitro finish.) People furrow their brows and claim they can hear stuff like that, but fail miserably even in a half-baked blind test. No reason to perpetuate the tone wood snake oil.
Yo Austin! Will you please review the new Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard Iridescent Copper? Pretty pretty pretty please!! ❤❤😊
$3500 for the ES? Too much money😢
I really want a 330
When are we gonna see that CRAZY 90s Custom Shop one off 7 string explorer up on reverb? 😎

Gibson 2024 = Gibson 2014
100%. They’ve lost their way yet again. They keep trying to grow a business that has an inherent low ceiling.
New Gibson reacting to a stagnant market by taking a lead out of Henry J’s book, i.e chucking models at it. Segmenting their offering into confusing irrelevance.
It's called choice and variety. Consumers tend to respond positively to this initiative but a few are color blind and dumb.
Bring back the 175
Trogly, I legit just emailed Gibson garage this week about making me a 330 with a 335 neck placement
imo fhey missed an opportunity to do a nice 330 with ebony to differentiate it from the USA Casinos.
Love the TV yellow mahogany top LPs. Would be in the market if they came out 5 years ago, with 2019 prices…or maybe if there’s a blowout in 2025…
Right? They're lost in their own sauce.
I'm a 60's guy Joe...
GC has a new purple trad pro V AAA flame top.
