Glad you mentioned the Mizuno Neo Vista. In short it's an incredible shoe. They have hit the nail on the head! Can fit in both easy, fast day and long runs. For many it could be the one shoe wonder. Better than the superblast i reckon. Mizuno rotation; Sky (latest version is so plush!), Neo Vista as above, Race day, Rebellion pro2 (great if you're bang on a neutral runner and mid foot strike).
1. Daily- Kayano 31 2. Speed day- Adios pro 3 (would have gone for Boston 12 since it’s more durable, but can’t find the right fit) 3. Race day- Vaporfly 3
I ran my fastest half marathon in the Rebellion Pro 2 and really love them. But I think I will go Metaspeed Sky for my future marathon. But I may hesitate even if the Pro 2 is more dangerous for the ankles for a 26.2 race
Comprehensive folks, thanks. I have Puma velocity 2 as a cheap easy daily trainer, Saucony endorphin speed 3’s (about to retire and buy the 4’s) and Pro 3’s for race day.
My any brand rotation would be; Easy - Asics Novablastv4. Tempo - Mizuno Neo Vista Race day; 10km to Marathon Asics Metaspeed Edge Paris Mile to 10km NB Pacer v2 🔥
When Adidas comes out with Adios Pro 4, Evo SL, and Adios 9, they'll have a very formidable lineup with current and new versions of Takumi Sen, Boston, Prime X Strung, and SL2. The only thing missing would be an easy/recovery max stack type of shoe with LSP, but that probably wouldn't fit in the Adizero line since it's supposed to be about speed and performance. Puma 's lineup with DNE3, DN3, and MagMax is pretty solid. Hoka with the Cielo X1 (or Rocket X 2, which I haven't tried), Mach X 2, and Skyward X is also very good. The Metaspeed Sky Edge/Paris and Superblast 2 covers it for me for ASICS. As for NB, the SC Elite v4 was somewhat of a letdown for me when compared to Alphafly 3 and Sky Paris, but I like the SC Trainer v2, Rebel v4, 1080v13, and More v5. I have other shoes from other brands like the Neo Vista, Hyperion Max 2, Mount to Coast R1, and On Cloudsurfer, for some different flavors, but I don't think I would build whole rotations out of them. Not interested in Nike except for their top-tier race shoes. Right now, I like what Adidas, Puma, ASICS, and Hoka are doing and where they are going.
@@JoutarouKuujou1 I agree, but max stack shoes are fun every now and then. I balance them out with firmer lower stack shoes, which get the most of my mileage.
@@markoljustina I totally understand that it's not for everyone. Works great for me and I love it, but only once in a while. I agree it's on the weird side, but I also find it fun.
Adidas Takumi San 10 for race day. Agree withe the Boston 12. The good thing is the San 10's feel like a lighter faster Boston 12's so when its race time they dont feel too different to what youve been training in
II have my best rotation ever rn: Hoka Mach 6 for daily/rotating long runs, Saucony Endo Speed 3 for tempo/workouts, Brooks Glycerin Max for recovery/rotating long runs, and the Hoka Cielo X1 for race day. But I really think you could just do the Super Blast 2 and the Glycerin Max and call it good for a whole training cycle.
I've got the asics nimbus 25, puma deviate nitro 2, and for race day 5ks I've actually got 2, takumi sen 10 and deviate Nitro elite 3 (there was a sale 😅)
Magic Speed 4 is a great tempo shoe. I'm using Nimbus 26 / Magic Speed 4 / Meta speed sky Paris. Looking to add a trail shoe to the mix. But cannot decide on which shoe/brand to buy.... So many options.
Mine are asics gel nimbus 26 , puma deviate nitro 2 and asics noosa tri 16. Might as well add supervlast 2 and adidas evo sl in the future once the first 3 pair give up
An easy shoe will be heavier, more comfortable, and less dynamic. Since its focus is on comfort and stability, it will have more materials and weight more. A race shoe will be the opposite: fast, dynamic and lightweigh, with a carbon plate in it to make it responsive and springy. They take some getting used to it and might feel less comfortable for beginners. The daily shoes sit somewhere in between in terms of weight, comfort and responsiveness. They may have a plate or not.
It’s a shame prices have spiralled out of control now for a lot of faster shoes to ridiculous prices especially as longevity not great. My rotation now just a mixture of daily type trainers with more cushioning for long run and lighter firmer versions for intervals/tempo. Companies marketing shoes like magic beans when consistent training will bring far more benefits.
Let's do a challenge for a follow up video to this. Set a budget of £300/400 and each tester has to buy a 3 shoe rotation based on whatever deals they find and compare they choices, then do a full marathon training cycle complete with marathon with chosen race shoe. So it can be an ongoing series
Great round up! I only have a road and trail rotariin but its nice to dream 😁 Asics for everyones brand rotation, I was hoping to get "Dream Team" picks at the end... Any chance of adding it in the comments/description?
The correct answer is the n+1 rule of cycling: you need n+1 bikes, where n is the current number of bikes you own. Shoes are the same: you need n+1 in your rotation.
Can anyone explain to me why no New Balance reviews ever Mention the EVOZ. I just bought the EVOZ V3 and they are easily a contender as a good daily trainer. Fits somewhere between and 880 and 1080
Unless a brand is sending me the shoes for free, there's zero reason for me to stick to one company. Right now I've got Nike Pegasus 40 for daily, Hoka Mach 6 for speed/tempo, and Asics Metaspeed Sky for race day. Likely will add the Asics Novablast 4 in since there should be some deals soon with the 5 releasing.
I absolutely hate the boston 12. No cushion, no energy return. The shoe feels flat and dead like a golf club from 1989. Superblasts are amazing. Invincible 3s are pretty good. Might go saucony hurricane 24 next for a daily. I'll be getting my edge paris's in tomorrow, can't wait to try them out.
Given the price of the Glycerin Max here in Australia (more expensive than Asics Metaspeed Edges) I wouldn't include it in any rotation. An absolute fucking rip-offf and Brooks should be ashamed.
SL2, Boston12, Takumi 10, Adios Pro 4
You got it !
I love having a different brand at every point in the rotation. Novablast 4, Endorphin Speed 4, Vaporfly 3
Same for me, except superblast ll instead of novoblast (especially long runs)
Really like you guys debating/ discussing shoes always gives a genuine perspective
Glad you mentioned the Mizuno Neo Vista.

Appreciate this video! Answered a lot of my questions.
I'm using all Saucony now. Love their new shoes.
Tempus for daily
Speed 4
Pro 4
Saucony and mizuno are what worked best for me.
Puma Velocity 2, Puma Deviate Elite 1 and Elite 3 for racing. But also have Adidas Sl2, Takumi Sen 9, and race in Vaporfly 2! So many!!!
Novablast 4 for longruns, newbalance rebel v4 for tempo and interval, vaporfly 3 for raceday
Hey thats my exact rotation too! (sometimes mix the Adidas SL2 in there, too)
My wife also uses the Rebel v4 for tempo and interval.
Just got my third pair for a full rotation - Puma Velocity Nitro 3, Asics Nimbus 26, Saucony Endorphin Pro 3. Mixing up the brands with mine.
Loving the ASICS Glideride Max.
Race: endorphin speed 5k-half / endorphin pro for marathon
Daily/speedwork: endorphin speed/hyperion max/tri noosa/magic speed
Long/easy: novablast/triumph
Best shoe rotation: Superblast
Best shoe rotation for 2-3 marathon blocks: 5 pair of Superblasts & 2 pair of Metaspeed Sky Paris.
😂
My A-rotation: Velocity Nitro2. Boston 12. Pro 3. So many good shoes now a days
Asics Fanboy here: Meta Speed Edge Paris, Magic Speed 4 and Glideride Max. Heel striker.
NB Balos, Saucony Endorphin Speed 3, Asics Superblast 2, Adidas Takumi Sen 10, Saucony Endorphin Pro 3/Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3
I ran my fastest half marathon in the Rebellion Pro 2 and really love them. But I think I will go Metaspeed Sky for my future marathon. But I may hesitate even if the Pro 2 is more dangerous for the ankles for a 26.2 race

My current rotation, Novablast 3 easy day/ long runs. Superblast 2 tempo work/ interval training. Endorphin pro 4 race day
1080v14, Boston 12 or Hyperion 2, and Metaspeed Sky+ for race day. Also love the Noosa Tri 16 as a daily driver. Great video!
Novablast 3 easy/daily
Rebel V3 daily/fast
Endorphin Pro 2/Takumi Sen 8 for speed work/races
Pergerine 13 dry/mild trails
My any brand rotation would be;
Easy - Asics Novablastv4.
Tempo - Mizuno Neo Vista
Race day; 10km to Marathon Asics Metaspeed Edge Paris
Mile to 10km NB Pacer v2 🔥

Max stack is over rated. You can do recovery runs in SL2
@@JoutarouKuujou1quite agree with you as it’s the softest shoe I own right now
Cielo X is very weird shoe, can’t recommend it
@@JoutarouKuujou1 I agree, but max stack shoes are fun every now and then. I balance them out with firmer lower stack shoes, which get the most of my mileage.

went back down to a 3 shoes roation form having up to 5 in recent times. Invincibles 2 (though they are on ther last kms) - NB Rebel V4- Alphaflys
Adidas Takumi San 10 for race day. Agree withe the Boston 12. The good thing is the San 10's feel like a lighter faster Boston 12's so when its race time they dont feel too different to what youve been training in

Any stability options? All nice shoes but if you need stability the options become less. Thanks!
Kayano 31
Just got a pair of Puma Velocity Nitro 3s for £60 from the Puma website. Very good shoe for an amazing price.
I don't know why you guys didn't like the non-elite Deviate Nitros, I have found them to be quite good.
I've got the asics nimbus 25, puma deviate nitro 2, and for race day 5ks I've actually got 2, takumi sen 10 and deviate Nitro elite 3 (there was a sale 😅)
Do you get Topo in the UK? Atmos as easy day. Specter2 as easy or trainer. Cyclone2 as trainer. They don’t have a carbon racer.
Great show and review
Magic Speed 4 is a great tempo shoe. I'm using Nimbus 26 / Magic Speed 4 / Meta speed sky Paris. Looking to add a trail shoe to the mix. But cannot decide on which shoe/brand to buy.... So many options.
how to magic speed 4 feel
Merrell

What's the difference between a easy shoe and a daily shoe please? Just got into running and use the same asics to train and race in.

I for me blending Hoka and ASICS makes the best rotation.

Yep. It's mad when you hear reviewers describing a £110 daily shoe as cheap, but here we are.

Team Puma ❤
Confused between Kayano 31 vs Pegasus Plus.. what do you suggest?
Hoka mach 6
Adidas Boston 12
ASICS gel nimbus 25
what is the difference between easy day shoe and daily trainer shoe ?
Easy day is slow runs, soft trainers to protect your joints
Do running shoes make the best walking (concrete and treadmill) shoes?
Deviate Nitro 2 probably better than the 3 for a fast daily plated shoe
I have them and i feel no propulsion in these at all might just be me
The correct answer is the n+1 rule of cycling: you need n+1 bikes, where n is the current number of bikes you own. Shoes are the same: you need n+1 in your rotation.
Magmax Daily/Easy
Deviate 3 Tempo
Fast FWD Intervals
Elite 3 Race
More v5 + Rebel v4/Mach 5/ES3 + SB2 + Endorphin Pro 3
ASICS has the best overall line up imho.
Do you guys have any idea how to even get hold of the superblast 2 in the UK? I'm a UK9 so a fairly popular size too
Sb2 that is all
Glycerin max, novablast 4, Vaporfly 1 because somehow it’s still bouncing
Nimbus 25, novoblast 4, alphafly 3
I liked the Invincible 3 when I first started running but now that Ive branched out and tried a bunch of shoes I almost never run in it.
Can anyone explain to me why no New Balance reviews ever Mention the EVOZ. I just bought the EVOZ V3 and they are easily a contender as a good daily trainer. Fits somewhere between and 880 and 1080
Asics Magic Speed 4!!!
Ignore the specs’ and stats You don’t want to miss that one, gladly I didn’t.
What watch is Tom rocking?
Vaporfly 3 for Race day, Superblast 2 for daily training, and Invincible Run 3 for recovery runs.
How about best rotation if you could mix whichever brands? ;)
Sb 2 and the endorphin speed 4 or pro
On mach x2 : the back of the foot rubs on the back of the shoe. How do u avoid this ?
Runners loop on your laces for better heal lockdown

Do you all have suggestions for daily trainers that aren't max- stack?
Nike Pegasus, adidas sl2, asics gel kayano, asics cumulus
Puma velocity nitro
3 shoes is the sweet spot
I have easy and long run shoe faster trainer then my spikes
Well i have studded for winter. Damn VJ Sarva Ace is a shoe to run to north pole.
No rebook?
Would you use the easy day shoes for your long runs?
The Superblast is an anti-rotation shoe lol.
First
Given the price of the Glycerin Max here in Australia (more expensive than Asics Metaspeed Edges) I wouldn't include it in any rotation. An absolute fucking rip-offf and Brooks should be ashamed.
