History of the 1967 Camaro:
The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro is an American muscle car introduced by Chevrolet in the fall of 1966 for the 1967 model year. It rode on a brand-new rear wheel drive GM F-body platform and was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seat, hardtop, and convertible. The F-body was shared with the Pontiac Firebird for all generations. A 230 cu in Chevrolet straight-6 was standard, with several Chevy V8s available as options.[5][6] The first-generation Camaro was built through the 1969 model year.
Almost all of 1967-1969 Camaros were built in the two U.S. assembly plants: Norwood, Ohio and Van Nuys, California. There were also five non-U.S. Camaro assembly plants in countries that required local assembly and content. These plants were located in the Philippines, Belgium, Switzerland, Venezuela, and Peru.

As noted that steering column wasn’t original to the car and was a 1968 or newer since it had the collapsible basket weave section. Ididit makes a firewall plate to snug up the column instead of using the rubber hose.

Great job as usual Lucky. Gonna have to add a tilt to my 57 Gasser. I have been wrenching for about 40 some odd years but learn something every time I watch one of your videos. This time I learned something pretty simple like the swivel socket wrench and using it as a speed wrench.. it never occurred to me to use it like that.. have always hated that wrench as it tends to fold up at the worst times but now it has become my go to! Thanks. Guess your never to old to learn.. you can teach an old dog after all!!

Being an electrician i saw the yellow wirenuts right away, under the dash. I knew you would have to say something about it. It is OK for temporarily testing circuits out, but then solder and shrink wrap for final repair. But still a great car to have, and another fine video.

I'm putting the same one in my 68' Chevelle. I bought the model without paint. I am going to try installing it over the weekend. Looks pretty slick. Mine should be easier, since my motor isn't in the car. Great content!
If you notice the indicator on the column, it only has for "D" and "L" ... this typically indicates the column was for a car with a Powerglide in it. Again, not sure if it was a donor column or what, but thought that was sort of interesting.
As far as IDIDIT ... we stopped at their place on the way during the 2009 HRPT ... they fed us lunch. Great company, great people, great products. I'd have no problems using their products :o)

Great video Lucky, the green truck looked like a '71 with the header panel mounted rear view mirror and upper metal retainer for the door panel('72 had pop in plastic door panels and the orange one looked like a 69 or 70 with the horizontal bar style grille.
72 was also the only year with screw directly below the wing vent on both doors inside. I saw the rear view and knew it was a 71 also.

The green C/10 with the 3 on the tree could be a sweet ride in a short period of time!
If the Chevelle has problems attracting dust, wipe it down with regular linseed oil instead of (what most people use) boiled linseed oil. Its a little harder to find, but it is less sticky and won't attract dust as much. You will have to wipe it down with wax and grease remover before using the regular linseed oil.

My Momma has a 66 Chevelle that she drove like a mad woman. HiPo 327 and a four speed. Sadly someone hit it and totaled it when I was 15 so I never got a chance to legally drive it. I dreamed that was going to be my first car in 1978. Just wasn’t to be. I’d love to own one now. Just a driver would be fine, but even those have gotten out of sight.

Why is it called a rag joint?
It’s a flexible disc that allows the steering column to connect to the steering box while reducing the vibration to your hands

g*damn that Holley 12" screen is so cool. 🤩 gets me every time.
I agree the first gen Camaro seats don't go back far enough but summit stocks some seat track extenders that move your seat back a couple more inches which made a big difference in mine for under 70 bucks part# sum-740001
You think the steering wheel in the Camaro is an issue.... I had 12 55, 56, 57 TBirds and if your legs were any fatter than a skinny teenager, you had to do the ole' bow legged driving position! ;) I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about Lucky. Love the 6x9’s in the door. Hard to install a lot of stereo in those cars. Harder to make em sound good, too.
I don't think those were 6x9's, looks like a 5 1/4, typically 6X9's were for the rear deck. :) gotta love the 70's mods.
6x9 is oval, those are 6.5's
I commented based on the first view, but you can’t edit. 😃 I’m going with 280zone. They’re 5 1/4”. And it’s STILL a PITA to clear the regulator and make the speaker sound good. Plus, hacking door cards is really not the way to go.
The pro 70’s audio mods were the Pioneer Super Tuner hanging under the dash with the Jensen 6x9s in the rear.😂

I was watching this to see exactly how to do this install but he Didn’t even show how to re+re the column, no video of removing the old column, or installing the new column or connecting the new column etc.. this is definitely not a “how-to” video. Thumbs down 👎🏻
