Man! I just love this series! The light novel is being fan translated and it's just good. It does use some of the classic tropes of romcoms but I believe that up until now it does it in clever ways. This anime will be good no doubt about it
I'd be more interested if one of the losing heroines was the protagonist & it was just about the heroines without a male love interest.

This series is basically twilight zone of the romcom genre
From the losing heroines concept, to little sister that might - or might not - be a little too much into her brother, it is all twisted and deconstructed.... But, I literally spilled my drink when the scene played with school nurse revealed to be wiretapping lit club (and possibly other clubs as well, and drawing love dodecahedrons of student relations... followed by still frame of big red STOP sign.
I saw A1 Pictures and I lost all hope of it ever getting more than 2 seasons. And then I saw "Childhood friend" mentioned in the synopsis. And if the guy actually does end up romancing someone, I hope it's the childhood friend (Hoping). I really hope the art and animation don't go to waste on some generic story.

i never thought it would get an adaptation. at first glance i thought it the character design seems familiar but then the title was shown. i was flabbergasted.
It really is becoming my #1 anime this season.
As a light novel reader and a sucker for good romcoms, all I can say is this anime is easily a must-watch if done right. The color tone looks quite different from what I imagined but the adaptation quality looks promising!
Sounds up my alley definitely going to keep an eye on this one.

As someone who always tends to dislike the main girl and root for the other one in such stories (Nisekoi being the biggest example) I'm very interested in this now.
Specially considering how much of a disappointment "Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose" was.
I hate how "main girl" is always the one I don't like, and always the one that "has" to win. Kudos to BOKUBEN and Quintuplets for breaking the norm (well, kinda, since in their case there wasn't 1 single clear "main" girl so much).

Finally! I’ve been wanting a series like this. I’ve seen situations similar to this in real life where there just simply friends wanting to help their friends move on. Sometimes there even relatives who just wants to help their siblings or cousins move on. No romance, they just simply care for one another and thus simply wants to help their pal out. I’ve been wanting something wholesome. Plz I hope there’s no romance between any of these characters or even budding romantic feelings. Just simple feelings of gratitude turned to true friendship.

Man does it reminds me of Kimi no Na Wa when I first watched it and discovered anime
completed all 6 volumes as of now, it gets better with each volume, season 1 might leave the audience hanging tho.
Luckily for me volume 6 marks the end of yr 1 of high school and brings an amazing conclusion to the three losers situations. The fan translations have stopped bc the official translations are coming(which will take some time to catch up) Hopefully another grp might translate volume 7 releasing alongside the anime(July 14), new losers will be introduced.
Overall after watching the new trailer, I think A1 did a very good job of adapting the source, this is gonna be fun to watch even for ln readers.

Everytime there's a new written story (manga, light novel) that gets an anime announcement and everyone in the woodworks just lose their freaking mind, I consequently end up getting really hyped for it. Usually, I'm going into them completely blind but chances are, I normally have something positive to say about them. Hopefully it turns out to be the case for this one too. I've seen this series talked about quite a bit on Twitter. 😁

Ngl, the concept of this show sounds refreshing after seeing so many slice of life harem shows like 100 Girlfriends or Girlfriend, Girlfriend. It's like those shows, but the MC's basically a therapist to those girls.
Regardless, A-1 has been killing it with their shows/movies since Covid & I still think that 1 of their most popular franchises (SAO) is also 1 of their weakest adapted series.

I found a scanlation of volume 1 of this novel, and, I like it, I find it funny, the MC thinks he's pretty normal, albeit with bad social skills, but for some reason he keeps getting involved with "losing heroines" and people assume absurd things about him, it isn't a harem though, he is just a good listener and is ok with not getting involved in any drama, the girls also don't automatically fall for him. Anna Yanami (the blue hair girl) can be counted as the first "losing heroine" and the MC's first friend.
Same studio that brought us 86. Real classic for years to come.

Yeah, what happens is that the protagonist, Kazahisa Nukumizu, which also is the audience POV character, ends up getting involved with the girls in this trailer, who got rejected by the person they liked and ends up helping them get over this moment in their lives, generally by talking to them and being a nice guy in general, slowly, they become friends and the MC starts improving as a person too, starting by his social skills, if there's going to be any romance it will probably be at the end of the story and not a harem. Yanami is the funniest thus far because her perspective got somewhat jaded by her rejection, but she doesn't seem to realize that as the trailer shows by her line: "There's two kinds of girls, Childhood Friends and Thieving Cats"
I'm still waiting for someone brave enough to make an anime where there's clearly a "main girl" but plot twist she's not the one who wins.
E.g. main girl (which the anime fully indicates she's the main girl in cover, screen time, etc) hates the MC at first (which has always liked this other girl which is just nicer), but the annoying main girl forcefully gets closer to him over time; then you'd think it's the typical trope where he ends up growing to like her, but at the end he just chooses the secondary one that was better all along.
Visuals are just eye candy if the story is good then it must be romcom of year?

I always feel for the girls "loosing" in a harem series. I mostly prefer one on one romance, or actually Harem where everyone "wins". Bceause sometimes I feel as sorry for the "loosing" character as I feel happy for the main couple. I guess that is also why my post anime depression hits harder after a harem with likeble characters. So I am very interested in this one.

I read a little of this. It's well written but I don't generally like an MC with little to no ambition. I don't usually read these type of things but it looks like a toned down version of Monogatari or Bunny girl show. Give it a look, I don't enjoy the mc but it's a good read.
