OPEN TO FEEDBACK / QUESTIONS - I haven't recorded Part 7, so if there's anything in this or other parts of the series folks want more nuanced takes on, leave a comment!

I dont usually give feedback like this but your channel seems new and your content is really good so:
my only feedback is that you justify yourself too much.
that other character with the make-up seems to exist solely to anticipate unproductive criticism that shouldnt even be regarded in the first place.
you're dedicating entire chapters of the videos (I've seen so far) to answering questions like "why is this even important to talk about" and interrupting your presentation with this other character being annoying in order to mimic the kind of annoying responses you now need to spend time rebuking because you wrote that in.
to the point of one of the interruptions being just a literal pointless argument that is brought up only to say its pointless and some seem to be just general public speaking insecurity like "this essay is too long".
your content is obviously deeply researched and well presented, its clear to the viewer a ton of effort went into this and you have the rare advantage of actually seeming to know what youre talking about.
this is valuable research material, structured with precision and attention to detail and presented impeccably.
just drop the need to appeal to random ignorant gamers online that may or may not reply with stupid shit and present your work confidently.
it doesnt need mass appeal and preventive PR, its already worth watching on its own to anyone interested in the topic. whoever doesnt find it appealing can go look for something else.

also, I found this by following you on bluesky on one of those giant lists of gamedevs
      nice surprise.

@@gamongames -- All valid and these things were pretty clear when I was done with it. Also, tbqh, some of that is in the first video just because I didn't have material to work with to make any kinda joke and thus defaulted to these quite weak ones, later vids don't really do this and just focus on the topic at hand. As I've explained elsewhere, this is due to me originally writing this to be 1 vid and then just not making the intro strong enough when I split it up. Lessons learned, though, thanks for the feedback!

It's really difficult to find good information about this stuff, as a hobbyist solo dev, I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

here from cohost, very informative! i've actually been pretty curious about this topic due to jacob geller's video on group fight choreography in films and games, and recently having a bad time in a sidescroller beat-em-up where it's apparent that there's either no attack ticket system or that it's not tuned well. the part about tickets having weighting was eye-opening!

My immediate thought is that attack ticket is the most critical concept here. Can't wait for the next episode.

Great content and actually usefull outside video game development. Nicely broken down. No need to bring two speakers/character here, with you talking about it is great.

I know, this video is not aimed at card games like hearthstone and marvel snap, but part of it kinda hits why I don't find those games engaging. I don't feel like I get enough time and overview to figure what I like or don't like, because it feels busy. Like I am the one getting played and not me playing the game.
