you remind me of bobbi altoff!!! so pretty 🎉
Your Marlo turned out great. Love the colour. Have the pattern, still to figure out size. Coming into our winter in New Zealand so it will be a handy top to have. Enjoyed your video. Take care ❤
Thanks for your comment - hope you will enjoy the pattern and it will keep you warm for winter!
@@MadeByMelm Hi there. I finished my Marlo last night and I am so pleased with the way it turned out. I made the long version. If I can be cheeky and ask a question. What pattern is the mustard coloured coat to your left. It is lovely. I'm looking for a coat pattern and that one looks perfect. Thank you in advance. Cheeky I know. Take care❤
thank you for this.. I have mine cut out.. I am doing the longer version but no buttons since I wouldn't do them up anyway on this version. Great sew along.. very helpful
I'm glad this was helpful for you! Have fun with your project! 😊
I really enjoyed your video! The sweater is lovely and the colour is so pretty
Thank you so much for all the support ❤️
Very nice Marlo, that fabric looks lush.
Thank you so much! Yes I was lucky to find such a nice fabric, it is pillowy and so comfy to wear :)
Thank you! Lovely Marlo sweater!! Also, your Kenmore is so elegant looking!
Thank you so much! Yes I love my Kenmore, such a trusty and elegant machine!
This was a fabulous video! I love how clear and articulate you are. Your sweater turned out truly beautiful!
Thank you so much, I'm glad it was easy to follow! 😊
The colour is so beautiful on you!! Also looks super cozy ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
Love it! Now I want to make it but first I need to purchase the pattern! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy making it! It's a great pattern 😊
Great vlog with some good tips. Your sweater really suits you, loving the colour. You are so clear with your instructions. I have made the cropped and long version of this pattern.
Thank you so much! This is such a great pattern 😊
I love everything about this sweater!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it! :)
The sweater turned out great! I've had this one for a while, but have been unsure of what size to make. I've seen some people say that it was super oversized so they needed to size down, but your version looks exactly like the envelope pictures to me. It was really helpful to see that, and I think I'll go with the pattern recommendations. Looking forward to finally making it!
I'm so glad this was helpful! I think my actual size per the pattern envelope was the perfect choice for me. Have fun making yours!
3rd!!!!!!!
I love this! That color is so perfect and you made it look so easy! Can I ask what that yellow too is that you were using while sewing at some points of the video? I’m a beginner and always curious to learn more!
Thank you so much! Great question! This tool has different names, but is commonly called a "hump jumper"! It is used under your presser foot to help raise the presser foot when you are sewing over bulky seams. Here is an example: www.wawak.com/sewing/sewing-machine-accessories/machine-accessories/the-hump-jumper-18-116-2pack/#sku=prt6101
Love your style! This came out fabulous and it is really flattering on you. Could you zoom in on your mock overlock stitch so I can associate it to the one on my machine? Thanks! Love your videos!
Thank you so very much for watching and for your comment! I just posted a video about sewing tips, and in this video I show a close up of the mock-overlock stitch. Here: ua-cam.com/video/NIhHkR5V0tA/v-deo.html (timestamp 6:00). hope this helps!
I've made two Marlo sweaters, the first one was the long version but I wasn't sure about it as it seemed to 'drown' me. I don't think the cropped version would be right for me (too old!) so I decided to make the second version at a length halfway between the crop and the long version and I sized down . The length turned out to be a mistake and I wished I'd made the longer version. But it's perfectly wearable and certainly not a disaster. I've got some fabric to make a third one and I'm going to make it in the longer length. One thing I have found is that what you wear under the Marlo makes a big difference. My first one is blue but I bought it online and it turned out to be a much duller blue than I expected - it was supposed to be cobalt blue but definitely wasn't. However I went through various RTW tops I had and found one that 'lifted' the dull blue.
Great idea with experimenting with different tops under the Marlo sweater, it can really change the look!
Hi! This video is so helpful I learned so many things. You made all of the steps so clear. Can you please tell me what fabric you used to iron over your main fabric? Also, which stitch did you use for topstitching? I'm confused if you can topstitch with a straight stitch on knit fabric or if it's something else. Thank you!
Thank you for commenting! I use the Dritz silk organza pressing cloth. And for this project, I used a strait stitch as the fabric won't stretch much. However for projects that will stretch a lot (t-shirts, leggings, etc) I will top stitch with a triple stitch (or a straight stretch stitch) to make sure my topstitching doesn't pop when worn.
@@MadeByMelm That's so helpful! Thank you ☺️
Why are you stitching with 1/2 inch seam allowance? Pattern says 3/8?
Hi Cindy, I think I misspoke at one point in the voiceover. You are correct the seam allowance is 1 cm or 3/8 inch for this project which is what I used!
