I'm getting error message when I try to export after labeling tracks. I have an older version 1.2.6. I clicked export multiple, export format MP3, save to file named music, under labels it picked up name I had saved project, and then under name files I only have 2 options, using label/track name or numbering consectively. When I click export it says unable to open file for opening. I'm not sure what the problem is
Great tutorial! I do have one question. When you record something in Audacity, can you go through your tutorial process before saving it into an mp3? Or do you have to create the mp3 first, then create the multiple tracks? In other words, can you do it all in one big step? I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
How do I do this when I'm not cutting out any space between songs? I've got a long concert recording that I want to break up by tracks. I hit the control B and can highlight the first track but then what do I hit to erase the highlight area from the first track so I can highlight the next track? (I hope that makes sense).
You can do Ctrl B to place a Marker at the point you want to split it. You don't need to remove any audio. Just place a CTRL B where you want that split to occur and then Audacity with split at that point.
Hi! Thank you. the best lesson on splitting an audio file -- clear and simple -- so easy to follow.

You can do it all in one giant step. Record anything in Audacity and then run through my process of splitting it up.
@@ChrisBogdon Thank you for getting back to me.

@@ChrisBogdon I got it figured out, thanks.
It most be me. I did every set. The first track came fine but the rest were the 2 second space between songs. Sheilah
I was looking for a method to split a track...as in take out the voice track from the instrumental...this wasn't it.
I can help you divide the music to create a karaoke track, with only a few friends subscribe to my channel
