@@HeiTheDarkReaper Mate what are you smoking ?? MIJ strats, squiers and fenders, go for like 250-400£ ?? Same as a Squier Jazzmaster or epiphone casino reissue. Mid price / lower end stuff. Great sound, low price and vintage. Where are you getting American strats in that price range ?
@@Eternity909 I have an 85 MIJ strat st62 you can look it up if you like but everything similar to that including teles and jaguars are anywhere from 1000-2500 US dollars all those guitars from the 80s and 90s made in Japan are phenomenal and people are starting to realize it prices are going up even since I got mine
No, that one was a frankenaxe built with what I believe was a Teisco Body and a Mosrite neck. The '70 strat was the brown Fender hes been using since 2015-Recently.
He's right, it doesnt matter what gear you use, but it also depends on what you want to achieve, musically speaking. But a good guitar will give you comfort, reliability and versatility. An expensive guitar will give you all of the prior assets plus the possibility to get a warm and complex sound.
Despite the goofs there's a lot of truth here. The end product is what matters far more than the quality of the gear it takes to get there. Buying more stuff gives you more options, it doesn't make you sound better
Parker Fly Deluxes were made of carbon fiber and they were the most fragile guitars ever. The frets would come out of the neck. You can still get em in Reverb
Well the best sound he ever had was when he was playing a shitty little tiesco guitar with one pickup. So I wouldn't say gear is the determining factor in how good something sounds
It was probably Japanese made and hold similar quality to the Japanese ones right now which is a step below the USA made ones. Or it could also be a Korean also very good where Ibanez, Gretsch, PRS, and old really good Epiphones are made.
idk about you mac, but i play hockey, and carbon fiber hockey sticks break faster than wood hockey sticks lol. wood is more indestructible than carbon fiber. carbon fiber is just really light. this guys kinda dumb lmao, god bless
Angelo Gonzalodo You obviously know nothing about guitars... Old japenese squires were all usa parts put together in japan for lower working pays...They are better than loads of fenders
The squires from the 90s made from US parts in Japan are likely equal to the majority of Mexican strats made right now because of the updated hardware, electronics, etc... in 2016

the guilt you feel when you split a $4000 guitar is deep lmao
Nice to see someone like Mac playing a squire, goes to show you don’t need a super expensive guitar to sound good
Big Al a mij squier from the 90’s lol that goes for about as much an american standard stratocaster because they are that good.

why does he always talk like he's hosting a dinner party
just watch waynes world, the motivation is there
That is spot on! haha
watch a jonathan richman interview
Mario Otero because he has wolverine guitars
Lol
From old squiers to being sponsored by fender. Good job.
He probably prefers cheap squires I doubt he couldn’t afford an American fender
pawkeet714 idk those Japanese squires run like 500+ though
@@pawkeet714 nah he probably replaces the pickups with fender ones :)
Gemrock pickups don’t have much effect on crappy guitars....good thing this isn’t a crappy guitar.
Tabloid Junkie Japanese squires sound better than Americans a lot of the time excluding the OG strats. My pickups on my Japanese are Custom Shop🙂
FYI Mac's Squier is a '92 MIJ Squier. These things are rare, and on par with Vintage Fenders.
yet he destroyed it haha god i love him
Definitely not on par with vintage Fender’s lmao. They are great guitars tho.
@@aaron4757 definitely would destroy a CBS era Fender by a long shot.
Def not on par w vintage fenders. Maybe modern american fenders tho
That 70's strat he had was so... so good. I feel his pain.
That sux he broke his 1970 strat. That was a beautiful axe.
yea it was one of the nicest strats i've ever seen
Is that the guitar he used in his music video for Dreaming?
No, that one was a frankenaxe built with what I believe was a Teisco Body and a Mosrite neck. The '70 strat was the brown Fender hes been using since 2015-Recently.
Oh gotcha. Glad he didn't break the frankenaxe. I love that one.

was at Mac's most recent Philly show and he had the mocha brown strat-- can't believe he broke it, that thing was fucking dank. RIP in peace
