What i look for in a TRUCK, is not just refinement but the engineering that went in it. The whole package, a level of comfort, power and economy and the reliability. Ram is a nice city truck and geared for the "Yuppie." GM and Ford have done a great job for while I was out in the oil fields.
If you are buying this trim level, you more than likely aren't using it for that type of work. The Ram boxes just serve the same function as a trunk on a sedan: lockable, weather proof, external storage. Most of them probably end up being used for groceries and drinks.
He's gonna tell you anything that sells you a truck. On topic, I have a 2010 Ram (Big Horn w/cloth seats) and I have no complaints. Not sure if they were changed since then.
Just bought one. It really is like driving a luxury car. Dodge killed it on the interior and the traditional exterior with that bad ass front grill just sets it off completely. It's pricey but the total pkg in my opinion is worth it and justified. Plus it feels good to buy American :)

If you're a hard core truck "folk" don't option it up with the RamBox System. It's as easy as that. Also, chrome wheels are again an option and not standard. You can have these in MANY flavors! I personally ordered a Sport optioned out much like this one. The Sport comes sans chrome. I'm a "yuppie" truck driver and I'm OK with it.
They should have put in a new door chime. That Chrysler ding-bong reminds me of the good old POS dodges of the 90s. The new RAM 1500 seems impressive! Waiting to see what they are gonna do on the 2500.
You really need to learn to use the right verbage when you're doing a video! If you don't like the chrome clad wheel covers shoulda bought a lower end trim line!
Did you cross-shop with the Ram? I'm in the market myself. Love the FX4. I'd mostly use it to haul my motorcycle in the bed, camping, etc. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

There's something to be said about a slightly simpler set up that the Ford offers. Less stuff to go wrong! I plan on test driving both this weekend. I'll report back!

Just picked up a 2013 Ram laramie long horn edition. The interior has me speechless. Even my boss who buys the top end fords and chevys sat in it and i believe is going to be getting a Ram when he trades in. Also this a Laramie, what i say a grandpa truck or what my boss says not a grandpa truck but a classy truck. People who want a Ram to abuse for work should get an express or a "classic" now or a power wagon.

The only false part of this review, the fact that the RamBox takes up bed space. Measure the ribed section in the center of the bed on a truck with and without. They come out both to 4 feet. The RamBox utilizes the empty space left by the wheel wells, get your information right before you post a review! Also, the RamBox is an optional feature.
54k for a 1500, prices are getting high. i have a 2013 mercedes benz ml 350. for 59k and can tow just as much. just don't have a bed..plus i have the re-sale value.

Ram boxes are an option. The Laramie is a trim level. People who want it for an everyman kind of work truck are not buying the Laramie. The 4.7 is a useless engine. Also. Nobody would ever say Chevy trucks are better. The interior quality is atrocious and the exterior is hideous. Ford is really the way to go. Not knocking the upper Ram trim levels, they have come a long way in terms of overall quality. But I tested out both and Ford was much more comfortable and liveable for daily use.
Don't buy a Laramie if you don't want chrome. Few who work in one want a Rambox at that price. Expensive tools go in a TOOL BOX. It ruins the lines of the truck from the side and eats into bed space as much as any tool box would. 20 years working from a truck and never once used or needed rails and dividers. They just break. Buy a Lincoln if you can't step up into a Pickup, especially one with side steps. Your cell phone gives a superior 4G connection at much lower cost with more flexibility and can be turned into a hotspot in 5 seconds. Gimmick feature that will age badly and represents a long term liability in terms of fees. The Laramie and up are horrible values for what additional features you get. Even the SLT/Big Horns can be had with rear view cameras, leather, heated seats and wheel, sun roofs, subwoofers, etc. For a good deal less. I have a '12 FX4 and these are more refined and carlike inside and on the road. And with huge discounts they cost a little less, too.
Don't be scared off by massive MSRP's on all trucks these days. Dodge Big Horns are $10,000 off MSRP at a local dealer here. A well equipped Hemi 4x4 crew cab is about $35,000. They have all gone to the inflated price/big rebate model to try to attract buyers.

Seats are comfortable? these seats are more comfortable than anything made today...not as plush as my 97 ram with leather thou.

Definitely the best of the top 3. Engine, transmission, interior and body design are all superior on the Dodge to either Chev or Ford.
