Just a fun reminder that caius can banish itself to burn for 1000 to your opponent, so rather than put your opp on the second rhino, you could go for the W this way.
You can't use mirror force on a redelcared attack. It's a replay that happens not a attack declaration. I know it sounds weird but those are the rules. So hunter was game there
If an attack target is chosen again because of a replay, the already-attacking monster is not considered to be "declaring an attack" again, so cards/effects that activate in response to an attack declaration (such as "Mirror Force") cannot be activated.[10][11] However, cards and effects that activate in response to a monster being targeted for an attack (such as "Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth") can be activated.[12]
I guess I actually knew that already because of a situation with compulse on a monster while attacking, and they can't battle fader the replay attack, but it slipped my mind during this recording (as do many things lol)
@@PapiCitoyeah a common use case would be like, attack treeborn, battle step activate compulse target treeborn redeclare direct. Opponent cannot use fader there
Hey Frazier, I’m Icarus89. Thanks a lot for the in-depth analysis of the deck! Funny coincidence, I just posted a commentary of our Top 16 match from EWCQ8, so if you want you can check out the game from my perspective 😊
Hey Icarus, took your build to YCS Sac and got 26th, 5-2-1, shoud've been higher technically 6-2 and the true loss was to amaryllis in r7. Sea hunters were MVP that weekend, also watched your videos on FL for some prep, thanks!
@@qiuyang123 hey, that was a good result in such a long tournament. Amaryllis can be a tough matchup. As it’s being played more and more, in my late built I’ve put 2 bth in the side and they help a lot both in this mu and bw’s as well
49:12 is there a reason why we dont caius target himself there? the opponent has used solemn, torrential etc and doesnt seem like he would be playing bottomless :/ (if there is a reason, sorry, i am bad)
Honestly i think water art is one of the best cards in the mirror..i also think sea hunter is slept on even though i have trouble fitting it into the main or side...but if your playing regular frog monarchs then why not put it in?
@@imnerdpodcast but, isnt the torrential tribute an illegal activation there? summon happens he decides to activate dustshoot, ladd activates to negate an tt is rn cl4, you should not be able to activate tt here
Hold on does armed sea hunter work like revived king ha des? Like if it kills treeborn or mezuki for example those monsters for the rest of the game they can't be activated!?
@@tonyvazquez7612 Yep, but just to be fair, even if that effect is mandatory, it does activate. This means you have to declare it, so that both you and your opponent know that vayu's effect is negated. Doing otherwise could be seen as you misleading your opponent in their actions and this is a thing we all want to avoid, as frogs don't need to do that to win
Wait. I'm confused. Did you attack with selancer. He plays widespread, then proceeds to battle step to reckless and bounce, you use built in protection, redeclare on replay and allowed mirror force to resolve?
If your opponent has Vanity's Fiend/Kristya on the field, how are you going to get another water monster in play to resolve the Armed Sea Hunter effect to negate them? Unless they're summoning one of those M2 and leaving a frog in play (in which case you could just as easily sack for Monarch as summon Sea Hunter) or you have to have an ECON set behind a frog to protect it for a turn. Even if that scenario does happen, isn't it just way less efficient than spot removal?
First you attack, then you flip, then damage is done, then effect applys. So if it battles the monster and it isn't destined to go to the grave, (hunter) the effect of the monster is negated.
Just a fun reminder that caius can banish itself to burn for 1000 to your opponent, so rather than put your opp on the second rhino, you could go for the W this way.
They probably didn't want to lose on the spot to like another widespread dud or offerings or something (to lazy to look through the grave again)
yeah i was wondering why they didnt try that
@@Froggo_the_Jamyea but worst case they play that on cauis and then you special cydra in attack

Love this series. May I suggest not to skip the siding portion because I feel like there is a lot to learning from watching players side.
This might be the peak deck of edison. Tier 0 territory, no weaknesses and overwhelmingly consistent. Gives me 2008 Tele Dad vibes
Helping some friends promote their tournament. There’s going to be an in person EWCQ in Atlanta on Oct 5th. You should come!

it is
I love the zuczid winged rhynos deck but it literally does noooooothing if you dont draw an unsearchable 3 of :(

Mom, wake up! New frog deck came out!
I like the longer deck analysis’, they’re very interesting
im glad someone does, I can yap for a while lol 😅
With Armed Sea Hunter: you could also pop Dupe Frog to protect ASH and get a free Frog 😊
Yeah I said this during the video
@@imnerdpodcast oh I blatantly missed it 🤣

Doesnt ladd miss timing @23:08? Trap Dustshoot resolves and last thing to happen for ladd to revive a monster is it hitting the grave no?
ladd cannot "miss timing". It does not have any optional effects.
