I love how the ultimate message of this song is basically just: "sometimes it's not your fault and people are just shitty"- like honestly, yeah, important life lesson.
What I really love about Krysta's interpretation of the role is that she reinterprets the character. Most of the people I have seen play Morales act as if they were "over it" Krysta definitely isn't.
Usually whenever Krysta Rodriguez plays a part, it ends up being my favorite version of said role. I love that her delivery is so different, especially from the OBC recording. The "Jesus Christ" is what really makes is for me; it goes from "I was so desperate to find something that worked" to "Can you believe he talked to high school girls like this?!" It makes Morales so much older and wiser and done with putting up with crap from male directors. (Hi btw!)
well it's just i'm really new to 'a chorus line' 😂, and since i watched it yesterday 😍 i fell in love and binge watch every performances and this one is really greaaaat. i love how she acted 'i really don't care this bs' 😂
When the real Diana Morales, Pricilla Lopez was told the teacher had died, her reaction was one word: "Good". He was too recognizable in 1975, so they remnamed him Mr. Karp.
I have played Mike in A Chorus Line a few months ago and had never seen this before today. I freaking adore Krysta and am so amazed she did this! I wish I could meat her one today, she's adorable and annoyingly talented!!!!!!!!!
This is my favorite Morales that' I've seen so far. She's a real spitfire but everyone plays her with this bright and young-sounding voice and I don't really like that.
I'm so excited because I'm gonna go to the High School of Performing Arts! I mean, I was dying to be a serious actress. Anyway, it's the first day acting class- and we're in the auditorium and the teacher, Mr. Karp... Oh, Mr. Karp... Anyway, he puts us up on the stage with our legs around each other, one in back of the other and he says: "Okay... we're going to do improvisations. Now, you're on a bobsled. It's snowing out. And it's cold...Okay...GO!" Ev'ry day for a week we would try to Feel the motion, feel the motion Down the hill. Ev'ry day for a week we would try to Hear the wind rush, hear the wind rush, Feel the chill. And I dug right down to the bottom of my soul To see what I had inside. Yes, I dug right down to the bottom of my soul And I tried, I tried. [Spoken] And everybody's goin' "Whooooosh, whooooosh ... I feel the snow... I feel the cold... I feel the air." And Mr. Karp turns to me and he says, "Okay, Morales. What did you feel?" [sings] And I said..."Nothing, I'm feeling nothing," And he says "Nothing Could get a girl transferred." They all felt something, But I felt nothing Except the feeling That this bullsh*t was absurd! [Spoken] But I said to myself, "Hey, it's only the first week. Maybe it's genetic. They don't have bobsleds in San Juan!" [sings] Second week, more advanced, and we had to Be a table, be a sportscar... Ice-cream cone. Mister Karp, he would say,"Very good, except Morales. Try, Morales, All alone." And I dug right down to the bottom of my soul To see how an ice cream felt. Yes, I dug right down to the bottom of my soul And I tried to melt. The kids yelled, "Nothing!" They called me "Nothing" And Karp allowed it, Which really makes me burn. The were so helpful. They called me "Hopeless", Until I really didn't know Where else to turn. [Spoken] And Karp kept saying, "Morales, I think you should transfer to Girl's High, You'll never be an actress, Never!" Jesus Christ! Went to church, praying, "Santa Maria, Send me guidance, send me guidance," On my knees. Went to church, praying, "Santa Maria, Help me feel it, help me feel it. Pretty please!" And a voice from down at the bottom of my soul Came up to the top of my head. And the voice from down at the bottom of my soul, Here is what it said: "This man is nothing! This course is nothing! If you want something, Go find another class. And when you find one You'll be an actress." And I assure you that's what Fin'lly came to pass. Six months later I heard that Karp had died. And I dug right down to the bottom of my soul... And cried. 'Cause I felt... nothing.

Krysta definitely isn't.
This may be my favorite Morales of all time. Holy crap.

Same here! What a fantastic role for her, right? I had no idea she was such a true triple threat. Her voice alone is killer. And, hi! ;)
This is truly the best interpretation of this role I've ever seen. She really looks like a girl from the bronx who fought her way out.
lmao the ending is amazing. She looks all sad then she's like "lmao nope" "and he said I'm not an actress" XD
right! i didn't expect that!
It definitely suites the song better than what you usually see, where Diana is actually sad about his death. XD

lmao same here. I mean I've known about it for like a year and a half but it isnt until last month I actually saw it 😂😂😂

AHHH I LOVE THIS. Krysta makes this role a million times more interesting than it already was! I'm so excited to perform this song!
"See my face? I'm enthused." - what Morales should've said to Mr Carp ;)

wir mussten das auch in der schulr machen und ich habe auch morales gespielt, aber ich fand, dass es bei mir mit sehr viel mehr emotianen war🙈
Gotta say this performance beats the original by Priscilla Lopez.
Wait, If this were for the Orange bowl , She would have had to change bullshit to bullcrap . She's a great version of Diana M ...Though .
Tom Adams dont mind me but whats the orange bowl? this was at the hollywood bowl lol. they wont censor anything, they did hair and rent
The higher parts sound so bland unfortunately due to the audio quality, but I'm sure she slayed

It could have been beautiful if the song was slower it is so fast you cant feel the song anymore.
