My favorite recording of this number. When they start doing the iconic dance combo, you can almost feel the high of the audience. It's the feeling that made me want to do theatre in the first place.
Years ago I auditioned for it on a university level. While I didn't get a part, they kept calling me back during the process, which was enough to make me feel good ! I asked, what lacked.......they said, a little too 'shy', nothing some basic acting classes couldn't help with !
I totally agree. The vision that he had to come up with this masterpiece as well as the execution, all on a shoe-string budget, was nothing short of phenomenal. The undertaking of creating a musical is one thing, but to also take on the topic of sexual identity at that particular time was a HUGE gamble. It took lots of guts to do that. This is why this is my favorite musical.
I didn't see this version of the show yet, but I've never seen it with that ending. Usually, their kicking, and fades to black. Still a great version of the song and dance.
Loved this performance, but when recording a Broadway musical , yes, zoom close enough to frame out the stage but let the camera sit. No need for panning or close ups because it's not meant to be seen that way.. We lose a lot of images that should be seen as a whole uniform vision..panning sometimes excludes what other performers are doing maybe in non verbal ways that are meant to augment the performance of another character on whom the cameras is focused.
I always wanted to be in this show. One problem, ok several problems. I can't sing, I can't dance, I don't have any rhythm and my butt doesn't look good in tight dance pants.
DE LOCOS...!!!. DE LOCOS....!!!. GRACIAS AMADO MICHAEL BENNETT POR ESTA MARAVILLA TAN INCREÍBLE QUE NOS REGALASTE...!!!. TU TOCAYO QUE ACÁ TE ESCRIBE, TE DICE QUE OJALÁ LO ESPERES ALGÚN DÍA CUANDO A ÉL LE TOQUE VIAJAR PARA ESE MUNDO TAN ESPECIAL DE LOS INOLVIDABLES...!!!. THANKS AT LOT HONEY...!!!.
I don’t think this show should have bows like this. It goes against what the effect that the endings was supposed to have. Nevertheless great performance.
It was a technical issue. The lights didn't go out...usually the lights are down way before then and so some stopped kicking after the right amount of kicks and some kept going because the lights were still on.
Channel Three I really don’t want to be rude, but the mistake at the end was obviously a technical error as there would never be that level of confusion at this level if something technical didn’t go wrong. The stage was probably supposed to go to black before the bows. In addition, it’s quite impressive given they likely only had a week to rehearse, as it is with many of the Hollywood Bowl performances
Rebecca V. Are you aware that one-off live performances like this on a massive Symphony stage require tons of rehearsal because of spacing issues? Are you aware that this Orchestra was thrown together last minute and that's why it sounds like it's underwater? Are you aware that a one-off performance like this requires special attention to the modified curtain call and that usually these poor cast members are shoved into some rehearsal room for one day and then thrown last-minute onto this massive stage in front of an audience requiring perfection? Horrifically under-rehearsed. An actor's nightmare.

They do the iconic dance number true to the original choreography. 😊
Why do people zoom in when they film bootlegs? Just hold the camera still

have you done any shows since?
Amazing
Never get tired of this great musical! Michael Bennett was a genius & taken too young.

So true!
What a delight! So glad I was there! Kudos to all!!
That's exactly how I felt. What a great show!
3:04 onwards is when the whole thing is just a dream. love it!!!!
But that’s AFTER they do the circle thing!
More like 2:30 onwards! Wow
Thank you for the recording so I can watch it over and over!!
Constant shivers of admiration for this true discipline, wonderful and thanks for the video.
What a beautiful cast! I wish they had an official recording you could stream
These dancers are just magnificent!

jc2354 I much prefer it that way. It ties together the whole meaning of the show. This ending kind of discredits the idea behind a chorus line
It was probably an accident, I'm guessing, that's why the one girl kept kicking lol
@@ChelseaBannister i definitely agree

I completely agree with you, there's no need to zoom in so much, bc of that a lot of things get lost.. and we can't really appreciate it that much
seriously? go away
totally agree, I can agree with zooming on who is important in the moment, but if it's a group number perhaps not?
Seriously - now I know what it's like to have ADHD. Totally ruined this performance...

I wondered whether they'd fade to black but instead they all just kinda stopped :)
So great! Thank you for posting this.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed.
This video is not shaky enough.
I thought the cut dancers from the opening number usually get to join the finale with their own gold costumes
they made this a larger cast to fill the space of the bowl
Gosh cant stop looking at Ross!!! He´s sooooo hot
Which one is he? :)
@@rileykaplan3470tall, blonde
such a great cast
いつまでも忘れられない最後のシーン…コーラスラインは青春時代そのものだった。✌️
Gap for Jason as a dancer by nature thank you loved it I love a chorus line
Why didn't they turn the lights off.. i mean people were just dancing not knowing when they had to stop, that was messy
Yeah that threw me off too. I think it was something extra that they added in last minute because it may have been the final performance.
Thank u for posting this xo🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩
I WAS THERE
XD
Gooood ❤️❤️❤️❤️
3:38 Poor Ross and the girl 3 to his right put on their hats too early
how hard can it be to record!!
Pretty cool

May have been closing night
@@MNBluestaterI was going to say that
lo mejor en musical
Is that Ross Lynch?
yes it is
random q but can someone give me a timestamp for mario lopez bow?
The start of the video, or 0:00 - I believe he bows first.
Am i seeing stuff or is that austin moon ?
I don’t remember this episode of Austin and ally
They fucked up a bit, but still great.
TheMavieneT Enlighten me were they fucked up?
When they form the kickline one of them at the end tripped and broke the synchronization.

Joni J I clean toilets for a living and I noticed it.
@@kelsey3198 idk, they had a planned bow and the other dancers came out. seemed intentional
👏👏👏👏👏
ROSS LYNCH???
16 high kicks at the end, no?
A few overly enthusiastic dancers!
Horrifically under-rehearsed, like everything in Hollywood.

Rebecca V. They can always do a second take. Lolz
Channel Three Are you aware that this is live theater, not a movie or TV show? You can’t do another take during live theater

The men's costumes appear to be poorly fitted.

bruh can the crowd pls shut the up :clown:
Worst production of this show. I've seen high school productions that were better
Ngl this kinda sucked
Never see anything this exiting again. Seems to me that the vocal and steps are out of sync in places.
