The REV'IT! Galactic Jacket is a forward-thinking update of the REV'IT! Phoenix jacket that will now come with a waterproof membrane. The Galactic jacket is the perfect choice for the sport rider who wants the airflow capabilities of a mesh jacket, but doesn't want to compromise on abrasion resistance. The Galactic is designed to fit like a race jacket with a tapered waistline, for those looking for the same functionality but a more touring cut, check out the REV'IT! Ignition 2 jacket. The Galactic boasts great temperature and weather flexibility with its removable Hydratex breathable, waterproof liner. For those hot mid-summer days, the waterproof liner can be swapped for the Challenger Cooling Vest option that provides 6-10 hours of cooling. Additional protection is provided by CE approved Pro Life armor at the shoulders and elbows and can accept a CE Level 2 Seesoft back protector. With it's versatile feature set of leather, mesh and waterproofing, there isn't much the Galactic jacket can't handle with ease. Available in Black / White or White / Black and in Euro sizes 46-60.
I don't know how a jacket with mesh panels on the front and rear is "full leather." Putting mesh on the back is especially stupid. Not even my mesh gear has mesh on the back.
The chassis is made from leather in all impact and abrasion prone areas. The mesh, is not your typical airflow, loose weave mesh, but rather a Dynex Mesh that sports 500D Cordura. Thats more than many textile jackets! -CK
No, there is no Velcro, however, the fit is tailor by the zipper at the cuff along with the elastic membrane along the inside of the arm. They should fit under gauntlet gloves quite easily. -CK
Yes, they connect with either the short or long connection zipper. -CK
Really nice Jacket!
If you want to stick with REV'IT!, I suggest looking at the Energy HV jacket or the new Nautilus for cold weather use. In the leather category, I suggest looking at the River Road Scout jacket for cold weather. ~Ali
No, zipper connections are specific to the brand. REV'IT! to REV'IT!, Joe Rocket to Joe Rocket only. Sorry for the disappointment! -CK
Love this jacket. I'm 5'11 and 175 and went with the 52. I would have purchased from Rev-Zilla as they ARE the BEST online motorcycle gear company, but my really awesome dealership D-Moto in San Antonio had one and they are equally as awesome as a company. Thank you to Rev for the comprehensive and complete reviews!
Thumbs up to another awesome moto company! -Hi-Viz Brian
Hey Ali, which jacket around the $250 mark, and suitable for cold weather would you suggest? Are there any leather options at this price?
Can this zip up with Joe rocket ballistic 7.0 pants?
I would prefer it without the brand name on the sleeves and back.
Joshua i just bought this. And they indeed fit EASILY under all my gauntlet gloves. Even my Rev'IT SLR race gloves which, if you read the reviews, almost everyone mentions that it is not wide enough for some jackets at the wrists/sleeves. If you need a picture send me a private message and ill show you how it fits
This jacket looks great. Leather/mesh with lining just isnt common. At least that I can find. Planning on getting this. Its hard to find a good protective leather to wear during the summer. I could wear this almost all winter in texas most likely. As always love the reviews. Keep up the good work Revzilla.
I bought this jacket splincir, it is indeed nice!
Great review as always! Only one suggestion: is it possible to put measurements (like inches, lbs etc) also in SI sytem- metric system. I know i can convert all those US measurements into SI, but it takes some time..
Thanks
It looks better in black.
I love this jacket but also the Rev'it Ignition! What is the big difference between them? i can't choose!!
JMB 24 Besides colors, the Galactic has a slimmer sport fit through the waist and forearm, whereas the Ignition 2 is a straighter touring cut and includes a thermal vest liner. Both have a full-sleeve waterproof liner. -DrewZilla
+RevZilla Thnx Drew! Altough i really dig the slimmer sport fit, i think the thermal vest is more important aaaaah choices!! :S
+JMB 24 I have the original Ignition and never use the thermal vest. Instead, I wear a full-sleeve hiking-style mid-layer. If you like the slimmer sport fit, get the Galactic and wear a separate mid-layer. -DrewZilla
+RevZilla thnx drew! That is some smart thinking :)
Does it fit on the GT trousers?
Their size chart has nothing when it comes to sleeves, what's up with that? I'm pretty sure it's important to know?
Their sleeves run longer than standard apparel, due to the pre-curve of the arm and the intention for motorcycle use, however, Dainese tends to run a bit longer if you need long sleeves. -CK
RevZilla
Actually I need shorter sleeves, till now it seems Alpinestars is pretty much what would suit me best (according to all the size charts I've checked between the different brands)
Yes, Astars definitely runs short. Joe Rocket also runs short, although their jacket runs a bit big. -CK
What product replaces this? It's close-out.
The Blake Air is the replacement, though the style is slightly different. -DrewZilla

Hi guy .... i have this jacket and i am really enjoying it , could anyone recommend some good riding pants to match it with :)
אלכס נחשונוב If the Galactic had a sole mate, it would be the Gear 2 Pants: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-gear-2-leather-pants -Kraus-e
RevZilla i see that there are no more seesoft back protectors for 48 size , any suggestions please ??
