Here's a link to a video that will help with the assembly and installation. ua-cam.com/video/F4vpnOtf3rg/v-deo.html
I love your videos!! You are knowledgeable, ensure the information is broken down in basic steps, quickly respond to emails and provide some incredible visuals. You dont have to create these videos but you do and I thank you :)!!!!!!
Awesome, thank you!
High winds pull fences over. Try placing a loose fitting scaffold board, on edge, under the fence panel. When the wind picks up the board is knocked over letting the wind travel under, as well as over, the fence panel.
If you can, email me a picture of what you're referring to, but don't worry about it if you don't have one. If I'm having a difficult time figuring out what you're suggesting, others might also.
What about a small vertical center piece to help keep planks in place. Protecting against warping?
Definitely a good idea and you could also space the fence posts closer together, maybe 4 foot or 6 foot on center instead of 8 foot.
What if I wanted to use 2x12’s and have the tongue and groove run vertical on the post with a 1/4-1/2” gap between each board ? Has anyone ever done that before?
I think that might be over kill, but it should work.
What do you think about cutting a drip edge under both edges of the cap?
I think that's an excellent idea. One time I installed a 3 x 6 that had a small slope starting from the center and working its way towards the edges to prevent water from accumulating on top of the upper board or cap also.
I'm thinking about pouring a few inches of concrete in the ground to run along the fence - 1. So my dogs can't dig under my fence. 2. To keep the soil away from the lumber to hopefully make it last longer. 3. To make it easier to trim the grass around the fence since grass wouldn't be growing up under it and immediately around it. Thoughts? Any ideas on a cost effective fence to put in?
Use weed membrane and butt a railway sleeper up to the fence so they cant get under
@@uBmaniac But that's ugly. lol
@@GridIndustries lol not as ugly as a few inches of cracked concrete ..
@@uBmaniac If you do it right it won't be all cracked. I could just as easily use landscaping bricks or something as well.
@@GridIndustries oh yes .. landscaping bricks would be good but will have to make sure you compact the ground first.
If you do go with concrete I would go deeper than 4 inches and look into moulding/imprint kits
At 5:23, how would you install your pickets? Just toenail them into the posts?
Good question. You can always use a finish nail gun or stapler to toenail into the post or into the trim. If you don't have these tools, you could always use small nails or screws. I will make another video explaining the fastening process and put a link here when it is completed.
@@gregvancom What about a groove cut into the posts?
@@GridIndustries See if this helps ua-cam.com/video/F4vpnOtf3rg/v-deo.html
So easy on a computer.......
Isn't that the truth.
