I really enjoyed your Datsun build series. I also own a 1200 that needs a full resto, which i have been hesitant to do as i am not a skilled person, however i found your videos to be more helpful then most of the other how to videos out there. It also motivated me to a point that i am watching one of your videos before starting to restore mine. Also great to see that you are in Sydney. I am on the Central Coast.
Awesome! Hope you're staying safe! I don't have a mechanical background, I think all you need is the motivation and the right prep and research! :)) The 1200 wiki has been super helpful for me as well!
A little disheartening to see it flooded....glad your equipment wasn't ruined! keep up the good work and determination, its inspiring me to start on my '74 620 👍👍
So glad to hear :) Luckily I haven't started any work on the lower half of the car! Plan is, once I get it rolling again, I'll try move it to a different car spot
Mate… I’ve wielded a couple of times myself but your beading was way better than mine. So congrats on mastering a hard skill-well done. ✌🏻love your work. And I would love to see a detailed video on your techniques, tips and tricks.

@@octobersky329 No you're not coming across like that, I really appreciate the honesty and feedback! I'll keep all that in mind for next time I film :) I'm always looking for ways to up my quality and get that cherry on top, thank you so much! I'll checkout the channel you recommended right now :)
I can feel my skin burning and the horrible burnt skin smell just watching the welding haha get yourself a pair of leather welding sleeves to avoid the rayburn/sunburn, definitely worth the money.
This is so cool Ive been binging your videos since the disassembly of the A12 I have a 1200 sedan I'm doing also rebuilding an A12 as well. I have had the exact same issues with welding on the frame as well! Blowing holes alll the time !! Grr you have a good knowledge for not being a mechanic i aspire your knowledge, personally i see myself a step below you.
Cheers! We all start from the same place 😁 I'm the biggest rookie out there, I picked up a little working on my old bike. Tearing everything apart is also a big learning experience as well! Cheers for tuning in, new video soon!
I think the rubberised stuff is only good if there's no rust on the metal to begin with, cause you then lock the salt/moisture out, on top of that it prevents chips in the paint from debris flung up from the road. Not sure about how salt effects this paint, but its something I luckily don't have to deal with in Australia.
Check out one here www.automotivepanelcraft.com.au/products/datsun-1200-coupe-ute-sedan-inner-skirt-support. Looks good, I wish I could afford it! haha
Hey bro. Something is not ok with your welds. I think you should turn up your welders voltage, and turn down thw current if you are worried of making holes. Are you sure the polarity is ok? Are you welding on galvanized steel? If you're using gas and the metal is clean, your welds shouldn't be having craters on them. Turn up the voltage! You are not getting good penetration
Thanks for the info dude. My welds have seen slight improvements since here, but yeah I've checked the polarity of the welder. I'm also constantly learning about the adjustments in settings for different situations. Its a real steep learning curve haha
I've just brought one in similar if not worse condition this has given me inspiration to fix mine now
I just absolutely love the fact that how detailed your videos are
I can't help it, there's so much to do! haha
Also excited to see you tackle the engine bay and get the engine in there!!
Can't wait to see the wheels on!!
Bro u really have patience with this car keep up the good work
Cheers! My viewers really have patience with my upload schedule haha. Cheers for watching!

Yo, your work is incredible! Is it possible for you to list all the material and tools you used during your restoration? I’m begin to restore at 510.
Interested to know if youve had many complaints from neighbours? Haha. Just recently started watching your vids, awesome work man
Haha no complaints yet!! Cheers!
i hope u finaly turn up the heat.

Thanks!
Doesn't rubberized undercoat will lock the salt/water that stick on the body and finally cause the rust ?for me its pretty risky :)
