Important Note: should know that there is a statement on their website that says they don't recommend using MB on the eyelids. It's a waxy, moisturizing balm that's got essential oils, and it doesn't dry down. So, it's going to migrate into your eyeballs. Essential oils are not meant to be near your eyes, especially if you have sensitive eyes.
WOW I’m so glad I’m not alone. I am over 60 and proud lol and feel the product is gorgeous, purchased 2 colors. I find I wear less makeup as I mature and work towards healthy clear skin but this was very sticky and my hair did stick to the sides of my face. I was bummed but determined to find out how to apply correctly. Her makeup has always been spot on and the story behind why she started Jones Road is commendable, but I do need a tutorial how to apply it correctly. A tutorial for non-make up artists. I hope a representative from the company actually reads this and can advise.
There's a tutorial on UA-cam from the company, but I feel like it's a disservice to not have it link on the product page, because no one seems to know how to use it correctly. Once I figure it out I love it! Was always oily/combo skin until menopause. Now I am drier this product is awesome! The gal in this video is definitely not the target market age.
I bought one shade, Dusty Rose, love it. Now the thing is, my skin is beyond dry, to the point of being painfully dry, so this product works for me. If you have oily or even combo skin you probably won't feel the benefit of this formula. I want to try an all over tint for simple makeup days.
Dusty Rose is actually one that can be used all over too. I know. I was surprised by this. But according to the chart on the website it's color correcting AND lip and cheeks. So it depends on your skin shade and problems. I think all over probably balances yellow, but not people who are already rosy.
What makeup brush are you using, does that break it down for a smoother and finer application? I did break the seal but not like you I just did a small section but will do it now. What kind of brush please, I can see your hair is NOT sticking to your face so you’re onto something right 😄 Help us that don’t know how to apply.. thank you 🫶

Oh no! We use a brush or just a tiny amount on a finger and build it up from there. Sorry to hear you’ve had a nightmare with it. Try a cleansing balm or micellar water to remove? Will send a link to our round up of the best.

Me too ! It's gross and then my hair gets stuck in it. It does feel like vaseline or crisco. This makeup is good for those with unblemished young faces- like this model. but NOT for anyone with redness or uneveness in their complexions. How do you remove it is a great question!
When you apply it has a tacky finish. If you have dry skin the tackiness goes away rather quickly but if you have oily or combination skin you may want to use the finishing powders over it.

Couple drops of coconut oil, no more, to spread on your face, very thin layer. Next i put my greasy fingers into the balm and it glides on much more smoothly, quickly! I get the color i need and im done! So very little product means i dont have a greasy face. Now that i got that figured out, id like to get her latest shade, i think its "flushed".

I absolutely love mine. It does not dry out at all. It’s a very good quality product. I put it on my eyes cheeks and lips every single day with a tiny make up brush and blend in with fingers on cheeks. LOVE this stuff.

The product is not meant to be applied with brushes. I use finger tips. It has a beautiful hit of fresh color and glow. However if you don’t have very dry skin ( I don’t) you’ll find it sticky if you use over your moisturizer. I apply vitamin C then apply these balms ( not all over my face). I have it, I’ll use it now and then but won’t buy again.

Honestly I love Vaseline like product. It’s all about preference. I never tried jones road products but it’s very appealing to me as I mix pigment and Vaseline as my makeup all the time. I always believe powdery makeup will age me as it is drying. If you put the right amount, it won’t be greasy at least for me. I don’t look good with powdery full coverage makeup. I’m always about no makeup, makeup look. I should try this balm. Maybe it suits me well.
You have a point. This product is really for dry skin ONLY. Even with my dry skin, after applying a thin layer it stays all day. If I apply it right, then I don’t feel the stickiness and my face seems bare. It is quite nice when applied correctly and evenly. I’ll never apply it like she does bc it’s just too much and it sits on the skin if not massaged evenly and this can be uncomfy-

Revolution a brand I found at Target has a nice balm extremely similar to this. It’s like $8 and comes in a metal tin. I don’t wear much makeup, only eyeshadow, liner, mascara, most days nothing at all. . As I’m aging I need some help with a little blush tone or a barely there bronze highlight. This stuff is perfection for me. The dewy look works for me. I can totally see this not working at all for someone who regularly wears full makeup. I feel like it would nut wear nicely over foundation. Reminder that I know nothing about foundation so I may be way off base with that. LOL

Break seal, use fingers. A little goes a very long way. My dry skin loves this product, I put it on with my fingers

Use a spatula, bc this stuff is thick and greasy.
