Hey Beth like you I came late to the game. I'm 65 with dry skin, and I have found that using the Miracle Balm as my primer has been a huge success. I first apply Miracle Balm all over my face (Miami Beach, Dusty Rose, or Sunkissed, depending on my mood) and find that it gives me a sheer veil of luminous color. This is great on those days when my skin is dull (lack of sleep, etc). Then I apply WTF in Medium and it gives my skin a nice glow. If going for a more matte look, I apply powder. The bonus is that after using this for a little more than a month, my skin has improved. It's more soft and velvety. I also found the Face pencils great for more coverage and so convenient - I keep them in my purse for touch ups. Mascara - great! Wears very well. I have several more of her products and overall am very pleased. This is now my go to brand. BTW, love your videos, keep them coming!
Thank you so much for this super thoughtful comment, Anne. 🥰😘 I’m so glad you’re here. I have definitely noticed that my skin has improved in the past few weeks. It’s been so dry where I live, so the extra hydration has been a godsend. So you would use Miami Beach all over as a primer? 🤔🤔🤔 I have to try it!
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK Yes, I use the balm all over. It doesn't dry down on my very dry skin but it does 'settle in,' so to speak. The formula is very sheer so I can use different colors, which is fun! Works very well for me. Might not work as well for people with oilier skin. What I love about your videos is you are objective, unafraid to address the negative as well as the positive, and you manage to be factual as well as entertaining. Pretty much spot on in your assessments. Keep up the good work!
Many influencers have been hired or given credits by Bobby Brown promote this product. It is a travesty. The cost alone is absurd. And all it does is make the face sticky with very little coverage. Shame on Bobby Brown.
I’m waiting for my orders to arrive. As a 60 year old, I’ve found out that less is more makeup-wise for my skin. I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Just turned 60 and have dry skin. I used to wear a thick creamy foundation when young (1970's 80's)black eyeliner, red lipstick and it looked great! No so now. Less is definitely more. I go for a beautiful, moisturizing lighter coverage foundation, natural lips, no eye makeup and, most importantly, CREAM BLUSH! Just started using Jones Road Miracle Balm and I love it!
This is a really great review. I think that you’ve managed to showcase how the brand was hoping for their products to be received and worn. I’ve seen others put this line in such a negative light, when it’s obvious that the person using it is a lover of and expecting the products to provide a heavy coverage matte look. That is something which Bobbi Brown has never been about. Since I personally prefer a more satin finish, solid medium coverage foundation, I think the Jones Road WTF wouldn’t be for me, but appreciate how it could be perfect for others. After all there is truly no shortage of high coverage foundations that are available right now. I believe that Jones Road is filling a much needed niche in beauty market. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Love this comment! Yes, WTF is not for everyone but I do think she made a very good product that some will love. I was surprised by how much I ended up loving it.
I use the Miracle Balm, and after getting used to the newness of the textures, I really like them! I use Au Naturel over my whole face and Miami Beach for cheek color. I just turned 71 and my old routine was just making me look more dry and a bit dull. My skin is very dry and these products do what I haven’t found in other brands. I use them over my sunscreen and other skin treatments. It lasts all day, but is easy to touch up too. After your review, I will try the eye shadow. And maybe another color of the Miracle Balm. Thank you for this comprehensive review!
This is a really informative and well presented tutorial for Jones Road makeup. I ordered and have been using the WTF foundation, miracle balm and face sticks. Watching this helped me put it all together for a pretty everyday look. Thank you for sharing the history of BB and your knowledge of makeup application. Well done and fun to watch👏🏼
I bought the Face Pencil and Miracle Balm as soon as they came out and have built my JR kit. I am almost 61, with very dry, sensitive skin that tends to be red around my nose and center of my face. The WTF and Face pencil are all I use for a no make up make up, I also have the Matt shadow in Ash, Just A Sec (when I use eye shadow it usually only eye primer then a light pat of pressed powder and a brown liner) and The Pencil for a liner. I have the Brow pencil but I use a fine eyebrow brush and run it over the pencil to use on my brows. I have the Lip and Cheek color (it stays in my purse). I have 3 Miracle Balms now (Au Naturale, Dusty Rose and Tawny). You do need an eye primer when using the shadows- the one thing I noticed is that the shadows are saturated so starting lightly with them and building up is a definite requirement (I do the one shadow look where it’s very light on the lid but I build it up in the crease and in the outer corner. The products I use not JR is my mascara (Physicians Formula Diamond in Black), brow gel, and from Fresh Beauty Studio I use the pressed powder in Nikita Banana (just in my t-zone) and Eye Primer in Light/Medium, and finally, Blistex Lip Vibrance Tinted Lip Moisturizer in the Rosy tone. So that is 10 JR products that are buildable, and 5 non-JR products. And the majority of people ask my secret to my clear and healthy skin but it’s my no makeup makeup look they are seeing, not layers and layers of product. Other than my La Roche-Posay skin care regimen, this makeup has my skin feeling hydrated all day and it has not slipped at all or separated during the day.
Just bought 200 dollars worth of Jones Road products. All before watching any videos. I haven't received them yet . I am 67 and love, love BB's new concept. I have only used bare minerals cosmetics for the past 15 years. Your video gives me good vibes about the products. Thanks.
Same! I have also only used minerals, but have found that the older I’ve gotten, the less amazing it looks on me. I have been using WTF for a week now and cannot believe how wonderful it goes on my skin and looks absolutely gorgeous!
Ditto! BareMinerals is not the same company it was 16 years ago and I’m no longer loving it on me. And since they botched their skincare line, I switched to Mario Badescu and (at 45!) have been getting more and more compliments on days that I don’t wear makeup. Now that I’ve gotten a small taste of Jones Road my trip out of the country in two days is the only thing holding me back from buying every item they have! ❤
Lol, I just did the same thing 😅. Mine got here yesterday, I tested it, and I know I'm going to love it. Thank you so much for an informative video. Yes, I subscribed. You did a great review!!
This is such a fantastic review/tutorial! I grew up with Bobbi Brown in the 90s/2000s and I love how you point things out about her style and products and challenging the makeup industry with these new revolutionary products. I ordered some last summer but was not knowledgeable on how to use them, so I am coming back to them and videos like yours are so helpful!! You are gorgeous. I love your hair, too.
Many thanks for the honest review! I appreciate that You are doing it after wearing everything for three weeks, which gives You enough time to form a true opinion rather just first impressions..
Thank you for the kind comment! I find it always takes me time to learn a product and see what I really think. My first impressions are usually different from what I eventually think, even if just more nuanced. 🥰😘
I was very excited to find your channel! I just started using Jones Road and love it. Also I’m 48 and transitioning to my gray hair this month. You look beautiful ❤
Hi Beth! Hope you’re doing well❤. I’m so glad you made this video. I have wanted to try this foundation for so long (love Bobbi Brown!), but I refrained because of Angie’s review. I’m so glad you shared this!!🤗❤️
Oh, good, Jessica! I'm so glad you found it helpful and valuable. Her line had my interest immediately, but I usually like to wait a bit. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Jones Road.
This is a fantastic detailed honest review! Looks beautiful on you . I agree with others one of the best articulate reviews of her products! I think Bobbi Brown is a genius when it comes to the no make up look that enhances a Womans face. I have purchased several of her products and I love the scent of the WTfoundation.
Thank you so much! I try hard to put my thoughts across clearly, so it’s nice to hear that you are reviving them well. Thank you for watching! I’m a BB fan, too.
Hi Beth! I'm so glad you are reviewing the Jones Road products. I've heard many, and not very favorable. I hope that you like the foundation. Great. It looks gorgeous on your skin. Right now, I'm loving the new Saie Serum Foundation. So nice. And the liquid highlighter is gorgeous. The eyeshadow looks stunning, but it definitely is on the higher side. I agree with you. Most days, for me, it's one or 2 colors, some mascara, and I'm finished. I'm out the door at 5:45 on the days that I watch my grandson. So, it's a simple makeup look. I don't want to scare him! LOL Wow to the mascara!! What a beautiful, natural look. You look gorgeous, Beth❣💖🥰
Hi, Rene! Yes, you leave your house and report to duty very early-my hat is off to you. I’ve always struggled to rise early. My close friend loves the Saie Serum Foundation, but I haven’t tried it out yet. She swears by that brand 💖💖I hope you’re staying dry-we’re having April showers today ☔️
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I wish I could sleep in. I used to, as a teenager! Most days, even when I'm not on "duty", I'm up by 5. I would definitely put the Saie Foundation on your list to try. I like it better than the Hourglass. We had a major storm Saturday night as we were coming back from dinner, but it was beautiful yesterday, and today, we're supposed to hit 70°! Enjoy your day. Hugs. 💖
Hi Beth! 🙂 I'll respond to your invitation to discuss makeup in general. I've been thinking about using color theory to counteract the "washed out" effect many of us with paler complexions try to avoid when we have silver hair. When painting, we know all skin tones can be made by combining paints with various ratios of the primary colors: red, yellow and blue. And then of course adding white will lighten the tone if the painter wishes to paint paler skin. Another way to think of it is combining pink (red plus white), pastel yellow (yellow plus white), and pastel blue (blue plus white). Here's what I think: for those with paler skin, we will look "washed out," if our skin tones lean cooler and grayish-blue next to our cool silver hair. Subconsciously I think the blue-on-blue effect makes us look sickly. But if there is a bit of contrast, such that our skin tones lean warmer and yellow-tan next to our cool silver hair, I think subconsciously we'll look like we've had a healthy bit of sun. And I think if our skin tones lean pinker next to our silver hair, we subconsciously look capable of a flush or blush, indicating a healthy blood flow (bluish skin subconsciously appears as though there is not enough blood flow). I have nine months of cool-toned silver hair growth crowning my head, which transitions to brown hair ending just below the shoulders. Coincidentally, I also have pale neutral-olive 🫒 skin, and hazel eyes. When I'm not tan, my olive skin naturally leans slightly cool-toned and blue/gray. When my hair was brown, I think the contrast of the warmer toned hair helped. But now that I've chosen to go silver, I don't necessarily look my best if I use foundations that are an exact match to my skin tone. I like to warm up my skin tone just a touch with slightly yellower/tan foundation, to create a healthier contrast with my increasingly cool-toned hair. And of course I can add the pink tones on the cheeks and lips to create the healthy flush look. Looking at you in this video, Beth, I see the colors of your shirt and eye shadow resemble colors in your eyes and hair. To me this simplified color palette makes it easier to see how your skin tone and foundation contrasts with your silver hair. To my eye, your skin reads a bit warmer than your silver hair, ergo to me your skin does not look washed out. So to me, I believe you're subconsciously looking healthy given this subtle contrast between your skin and your hair. So that's my little theory about how we can avoid looking washed out with silver hair. But I'm not an expert at any of this. I've just been trying to think this through given so many who discuss things like seasonal color analysis seem to add silver sisters in as an after thought. I think when choosing colors of clothing I'll wear whatever I want, as long as the clothing doesn't seem to emphasize the blue aspect of my olive skin. As always I appreciate your product review and application demo today, Beth. Thanks so much for trying the Jones Road products so thoroughly before describing them. All the best. 🦋🧡🦋
I am also an oil portrait artist and whole hardily agree with your analysis of color. I am also your same coloring (hazel eyes, with olive undertones, with thin skin dark purple deep set undereyes). The color contrast of black clothing with pops of accent colors like the scarves and the brighter lipsticks @InfinitegardenbyBethK wears compliment so well because it draws the viewers eye to the face with the lips and check color coordinations. A HUGE HAPPY SMILE works well with any color. Thank you for sharing this information.
Thank you so much,@@cforester!! Reading validation from a silver sister who combines oil paints to create images of human subjects, let's me know I might be onto something here! Yes, I too have what I call the Mediterranean undereye area, which is a bruise-tone blue. I believe I got this from my grandmother who was 100% Southern Italian. (Love you, Grandma!! 🦋🧡🦋) I live in a northern state where we get very little sun during the winter. (Matter of fact we've been getting more snow this week. 😒) So I apply a foundation shade that's ever-so-slightly warmer than my natural skin tone, and I bring it down on my neck and decolletage. A little bit of bronzer doesn't hurt either. I choose the warmer tones carefully so I don't look unnatural and orange. Subtlety matters when choosing a foundation that's not actually a skin-tone match. Once I add blush, my makeup has erased that blue-on-blue "washed out" effect. To my eye, I look much more healthy this way. 🦋🧡🦋
This is a lovely comment thread for me to wake up to! My mother is a classically trained artist and so is my closest friend--I have a small amount of working knowledge about color theory, but I love learning from you both. In the winter I am often looking to warm up my face, and I've loved the Gucci bronzer in O1 because it is rosy toned and not orange, so I feel it is more subtle. Thank you both!
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I have yet to use a bronzer. I have ordered the new Hermes bronzer (Atlas 02) and the highlighter (01 Rose Atacama). They will arrive tomorrow. I look forward to seeing the results. I have only one highlighter (Victoria Beckham stick-felt tacky) which was the most subtle I could find. My cheek bones are high which can draw attention to the darkness of my eyes even with my "concealed" hollows. The applications thus far on YT has given their faces some of the glow I am looking for without the greasy/tacky texture. Also, from what I can gather is it will need to be applied with a light touch for a very natural appearance. I am hoping this brings my summer look into focus. I am not into self tans.
@@cforester All the best with your new makeup. I hope you get the look you want. I don't lay out in the sun to attempt a natural tan, although I do get a tiny bit of natural warm skin tone from being outside a little bit each day even with sunscreen. Like you, I don't use self-tanning products, apart from the occasional subtle lotion-style tanning product that just gives a very light warmth, and fades within a few days (eg Jergens Natural Glow). I sometimes use those before social events when I don't want my legs to look extra pale. All the best! 🦋🧡🦋
I literally just purchased some of the Jones Road cosmetics, opened UA-cam and read your review. I've read others, some positive, some not, and made up my mind to try them in my "mature" years. You have an excellent eye for colors that work so well for you - my hair is more white and I'm very fair but I'm certain I made the right choices for me. I just hope they don't take refuge in my, what do you call them? Oh yeah - mature wrinkles!! LOL That it is Cruelty-Free is important to me and I always double-check with Cruel Kitty and PETA. Thank you for your video - can't wait until I receive my products and start playing and practicing! 🤩
I would love to hear if this product settles into your “mature wrinkles” lol. I haven’t noticed it at all around my eyes. It’s rare for that to be true for me. So glad this line works for you and aligns with your ethics. 🥰😘
I’m a new subscriber and found you as I was looking for a Jones Road WTF review. Thank you so much for your intelligent, informative review. So much information delivered in such a pleasant and thoughtful manner! I have several miracle balms and eye shadows which I love. My most used balm is Magic Hour which I pat all over my face for a lovely glow. I wanted to buy additional products and as I was headed to NYC, I decided to go to their brick and mortar store and get some in person assistance. It was such a treat and I purchased the Miami Beach balm, WTF in fair, the Pastel Pink lip gloss, Just A Sec eye shadow in Golden Peach, The Best Eyeshadow in Champagne and 2 face pencils. As you can imagine, I was thrilled with the results. The make up artist selected the perfect products for me. I told him I was looking for a spring/summer look. Now that I have these new products in hand, I’ve watched your video 4 times! Thank you!
It sounds like we had the same make up artist at the NYC store. I must have the same coloring as you because he recommended all of the same products for the summer look I wanted and I bought every one! Love it!
excellent review. I watched the entire thing. I just started using Jones Road products and am getting a great result. I agree about the mascara... well said.
I’ve tried Jones Road. I have very dry skin. Late 60s. I love WTFoundation. It melts right into the skin. It lasts all day without changing. Works great under the eyes; don’t really need a concealer. Miracle Balm (in Dusty Rose), was a disaster. It has glitter, so exaggerates everything. By itself, on my very dry skin, it would totally dry out in about 4 hours, leaving this stale pink on the face. Tried it with foundation, same results. Tried it as blush - not quite dark enough - but it looks strange oil shiny in those spots. I tried it all sorts of ways. Nothing worked, except on the lips. On the lips it looked really nice and stayed on fairly well. And there is the smell. After a while, it just gets annoying. It’s really expensive stuff, so I kept trying, but in the end threw it away. Nothing I could do with it. That was my experience.
Thanks so much for your review of the Miracle Balm, Susan! It sounds like the glitter might be the culprit-might be similar to the Face Shimmer oil. I’m loving the foundation, too! 🥰😘
@@barbaramazzocca4605 Some have more glitter than others. Don’t know if any have no glitter. It has a bunch of natural products in it. Go to the website and check it out.
I LOVE the smokey grey eyeshadow...it's one of the best shade and formula-wise I've ever tried. And I totally agree with you about the mascara - I found it to be really clumpy and really not related to the rest of the line.
It really is an excellent eyeshadow formula. I find myself reaching for it all the time! So pretty. 💗 I finally threw the mascara out today. I did my best with it, but as it aged a bit it became more unmanageable.
I’m a little late looking at your video, but I’m so glad I found it! Such an intelligent and detailed review. I have most of the products you chose and in the same shades. Miami Beach, Pastel Pink gloss, WTF in fair and same eyeshadows. I love how you applied each of them and with great tips! Thank you!
How kind!! Thank you. How fun that we tried the same products. I’ve recently tried the lip and cheek in both English Rose and Tawny [something like rose or nude] and it’s a standout favorite from the line. I’ll keep trying it out!
I recently purchased 4-5 items and am excited to try them. Awaiting their arrival. I wish it were in store to really decide the colors I wanted. I’m mostly excited about my bronzer-Dusty Rose!
Thank you. This is the first review that I’ve watch that actually explain the product to me how is intended. I bought the WTF looking for a foundation that will be nourishing without being greasy. I live in Florida, but winter has been rough this year. So far I been loving it, even without powdering. I have a miracle balm on its way and I think I’m going to buy all natural miracle balm as a highlight and as a primer for this and some of my more matte foundations. I was wondering about the concealer pencil but I think I will give them a try as well. I’m a product consumer, not a make up line consumer, but this line speaks to me.
Personally, I have never really liked eye shadow pallets. I always end up using only one or two, never touch the rest of the pallet, and it goes to waste. So I really appreciate the idea of getting one or two shades in a large long-lasting size. I haven’t found but one of the Jones Road shadows that I would consider purchasing…so I’m waiting for more. Thanks for the thorough review.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I’m not very adventurous with eye shadow. I love just a clean natural look and she is leaning into that with her color choices. ❤️
Thank you for thisnreview. I have been playing around with wanting to try this product but most of the reviews claimed it is very sticky and/or tacky. Your review is the first positive review I have seen. I am not interested in foundations or anything like that. Just the Miracle Balm for a quick sheer look with a hint of color. I may try it because it comes with a 30 day money back guarantee so if I don't like it I can send it back no questions asked. You have given me hope so thank you. I am 55yrs old.
6:34 You actually don't need a primer with this product at all. Many professional Makeup Artists don't use primer unless under very specific circumstances on certain parts of the face under very specific conditions. This is a tinted skin care product, so direct application is ides. As a tangent: Bobbi herself says not to use moisturizer first if our skin is oily.
Loved your review! It was honest and I appreciate how you added in bits of info I thought were important. Probably the best I’ve seen. Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
I love everything I have tried so far! The foundation is magic! My foundation and miracle balm has no scent. I’m kinda disappointed, I was looking forward to that spa scent! .
Thank you for this review. My hair color is very similar to yours. I just turned 60 and I’ve not worn a lot of make up. I really like how easy the eye shadow was to apply….
57 here and just getting around to thinking about trying this line. I am hoping this brand will be good for incredibly hot, dry Arizona summers. I hope the products look half as beautiful on me as they do on you! Thank you for this outstanding review.
Thank you, Scarlett! 💗💗Yes, my mother lives in the desert SW and I know how dry it can be. I would think this foundation should keep your skin hydrated all day. Please let me know what you think.
Hi Beth, really beautiful products, they look great and flattering on you. I really loved the eyeshadows. The only things I like on my face are the Ordinary serums, Charlotte Tilbury’s magic cream, a little concealer, eyeshadow, mascara and of course lipstick 💄. Sunscreen when I go outside 👍 I think the new products will do great 🎉
I was so happy when she launched this line. I loved her in the 90s and I love her now. Low maintenance, natural (in different ways in both eras) and glamorous. I really plan on it carrying me through my 40s for as long as it’s around. If you’re willing to play a little more with the shimmer oils I would like that.
Same! I remember the excellent book she released in the 90’s that defined her perspective. I’m loving WTF after finishing two jars-repeats rarely happen for me with foundation.
These products look great on you. You always give a very comprehensive review with in-depth research on your part. In my quest to find a replacement for my Cle De Peau radiant cream for a lighter summer texture, I have thought about this line. My research has been with my mature age group (65 and up). In that group this brand did not make a good impression. Most of us need fresher dewy skin, but TOO much is not a good thing. I made the choice to look at the newly formulated Sublimage (after seeing you review and others) and now the CDP new cushion. I am currently on the fence. Have been using the samples supplied from the Chanel counter in both B30 and B32. Either works beautifully, but the CDP foundations have a prefect shade match for me. All of them are pricy, but worth it to me if they enhance me without looking made up as you describe the new era emerging.
Thank you! I would love to try the CDP foundation since it sounds like we might be shade twins. Can you remind me of your shade? The Sublimage is simply gorgeous. I don’t mind the fragrance. I can see what you mean about Jones Road pushing into the too dewy range. It’s very emollient.
I have ordered the foundation, miracle balm, and face pencil. I love the foundation. I am 62 years old and am very, very picky about my skin. I have since a very young age taken very good care of my skin and still do. I have never used any products from Bobbi Brown but I am very impressed with these products. The moisturizing of the balm and foundation is good for the older skin. I am not greasy, etc., and knowing what the skin needs to stay without speedy aging, is to give it moisture. I am getting ready for my second order. The foundation is NOT for full coverage but just to enhance and blur the skin. Because I used to make soap I understand the effect oils can have on the skin. I think if people want to have a full-face foundation get yourself a full coverage one. This does not fall into that category. Once again, I find these products a plus for my skin. I don't get the stiff feeling halfway through the day when the skin is asking for more moisture.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’ve definitely found my skin to love the moisture the foundation provides. My skin is always thirsty and this product works well and looks great. 🥰😘
Thank you so much for this review! My order of Jones Road is on the way and I'm getting excited! My skin is dry and i want fast, light makeup, so this line is what I'm going for 😊
Hi Beth, thank you and great review. I have been wondering if Jones Road could work for me. My skinn is olive and has a lot of moisture still, too much actually. Currently I have been trying out Trinny London and love her stuff- I get a lot of compliments. I appreciate your reviews. New sub!
Hello! I’m so glad you’re here 💖I’ve heard a few comments about Trinny London. I want to learn more. If you’re olive, you might like the lip and cheek shades.
Can you please try their bronzer too? If we look at the before and after bronzer (26:30 ish) - it ruined it. Your face looked fresh and gorgeous before and muddy and dry after. The products don't seem to mix well.
I might! Bronzer is a very challenging category for me because of my Olive undertones. They always seem to take on that kind of muddy appearance. At best, it can look like orange powder. It’s not my favorite no matter who is doing it. I can try it for science tho!
I have the miracle balm and really love it. I have tried the WTF but didn't get it. Felt very greasy.... But I do want to try out some of her other products.
I’m 63 and have be been using it for 3 days . I also powder it a bit with wet wild setting powder and I def apply less than you. lol 😆 actually like the foundation. I just think I’m applying moisturizer to my face . Tfs
I might apply more than I need to, but I think it’s because it’s moisturizing and my skin loves it. Normally, I am pretty lightheaded with my foundation. It’s definitely like a moisturizer! Thanks for watching!
I'm struck by your description of how Miracle Balm feels to you. Another reviewer said it felt just sticky all day, and that never went away. That gave me pause as I'd not like to shell out that amount of money for a sticky-feeling product. You seem to have a different impression of its feel. Interesting.
Great review. I'm 49 and my skin is changing due to hormones and curious about JR. My skin was always dry but now I'm becoming combo. I like that it would be light coverage. Less is always more. Seint applied lightly has been my go to lately but Im always in search of better. Informative video but the focus variation was distracting.
I have a few "miracle balms" from another brand because I wanted to see if I would like them. Right now I don't know what color(s) to purchase. I'm not into wearing a lot of makeup and never have been one to use a lot of face products in my skincare routine I had very oily skin, and now since I am over 50, it's more combination-like. I did contact JRB and sent them a makeup-free picture of myself in hopes that they can be of assistance to me. I don't mind spending a bit if I can get a product that works and I can use for multiple things. (I.e., cheeks & gloss)
What number face pencil do you use? I’m struggling as to which one to start with. I am planning to purchase the fair WTF and we seem to have the same skin tone so I am curious to your recommendation.
I will be able to report back to you shortly! I have a new order coming in the mail. The first face pencil I ordered was in number seven, and that was too dark and too yellow for me so I couldn’t find any way to use it. I have ordered two other shades that are scheduled to arrive at my home this week along with some other Jones Road products I have not reviewed yet. Please stay tuned for an upcoming Jones Road review.
I found that I too enjoy wtf. Bought porcelain which has a greyish tone on me which I quite like. My favourite shadows are biba and nars climax. I didn't pick up the shadows as I noticed they faded off my hand quickly - Was that the same for you? Great informative video
Biba is a masterpiece of color and formula 🤩🤩 I think if you’re a Natasha kind of girl, Jones Road’s eyeshadow might not measure up. I think this is for those who want something super simple. I do like the shadows I selected and like to use them when I’m pressed for time. I might like porcelain-I have olive undertones that respond well to desaturated tones.
Hello! I watched the a few reviews and then guessed. Fair is my exact match for depth, but it is a bit pink. ivory is perfect in neutrality and a better match. I would have preferred to test in store. (My best matches are Chanel Beige 2.0, Armani 5.0 and pat McGrath Light 5.)
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK Yes I appreciate you showing it, Just watching the advertisements about it made me think it would not be for me, but your video confirmed that for me. Thank you for sharing,
This is an interesting question. I hate to answer “it depends” but I think it does. If your skin is naturally oil-prone, I think it might feel that way. If your skin is dry, you might find it is your dream product for keeping your skin hydrated. I have combination skin and find it works better for me on my dry cheek area than on my oil-prone forehead. I hope this helps. 🥰😘
I would not say sticky. It does feel like I have heavy moisturizer on, and it can easily be scratched off with a fingernail (I discovered this accidentally 🤪). I always set it a bit with powder but I like that it doesn’t dry down because there is no breaking up or caking.
Well I was going to get fair but now undecided 😂 so I am fair with neutral undertones. I don’t currently use foundation so I don’t know what to compare it to.
I have the miracle balm in tawny and I plan to use that for a natural glow in the summer. It works well with my moisturizer which is oil of Olay. And then, of course, I always wear sunscreen. ❤
Thank you for your input! I am curious about Tawny, too. One of my all time Favorite blushes is an ancient Bobbi Brown powder blush in Tawny. It’s the best, most natural color and I’ve been curious how the Miracle Balm compares. 🤔🤔🤔
Hi Carol, I use a wide variety. Everything from inexpensive sets from beauty supply stores to Japanese Fude brushes. I can do a video in the future of my favorite brushes-they’re definitely a mix of high and low.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK Thank you! I thought you mentioned a brush number in your video. I loved your review..so helpful. I have an order on the way. Already have the miracle balm…love it.
I have almost used up a Kosas Cloudset powder, which I just loved. Before I repurchase, I’m going to use a half-empty pot of loose powder from Pat McGrath. I’ve learned that I prefer the baked formula of Kosas because it’s a little neater-I can tend to get the loose powder everywhere and I don’t love that.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I once had a colour expert tell me I was a summer when I am a spring. It cost me a fortune to change all my clothes and makeup!
I don’t listen to Angie hot and flashy anymore with foundation reviews. I know what fits her skin usually doesn’t mine and also if she complains about something being to green and gray I also now it will match me the best. Rant over. Jones road open up a brick and mortar this spring near me. I think I will stop by summers end when my skin gets dryer for the fall. Wait where did you get that extra wide pencil sharpener. I thought for sure Elf would have one for their chubby sticks but it doesn’t fit. I even bought the biggest on Amazon and still is too small. It’s like I never got the memo. What the heck
Hi Tracy! Welcome. It’s good to know who on UA-cam has similar skin/coloring so you can adjust the expectations. 😂. This sharpener is from Nars-it fits their velvet lip pencils which I love. I’ve had it for eons.
WTF foundation most times should be applied without moisturizer on your skin bec of all the “beautiful oils,” as Bobby explains. If you think your skin was too dewy, this is probably bec of the extra moisture from your moisturizer. If your skin is extra dry, you may not have a problem. Because you see the need to powder it, try it without your moisturizer and see if the powder is still needed. Also, Bobby describes it as a tinted moisturizer despite its name. Also, I noticed you didn’t break the seal enough on the miracle balm product you have. You need to really dig into it and form a hole, not just a depression like you did. Digging it out of a hole, you’ll see a lot of it on your finger, like a paste that you need to warm between your fingers before application. I think Bobby’s team needs to be more descriptive in how to use it bec you’re one of many influencers that had this experience 😍
I find the need for moisturizer before is seasonal for me. In the winter I need a basic lightweight moisturizer and serum just to get to baseline before WTF. In summer I can go in with just sunscreen.
I’m 56. I had such high hopes for the JR balm and the foundation. It arrived today. I’m sooo disappointed. I so wanted to say it was amazing I loved it. But I’m returning both I did not like it at all. Honestly it feels and looks exactly like I smeared Vaseline all over my face. I hope some other ladies like it. But it’s not for me at all. I wanted a light natural looking tinted face cover. This did not deliver that for me at all. See how greasy her face looks! It’s terrible 😂
I went to the JR store in NJ… got a consultation… purchased foundation/ blush/ eye shadows and concealer.. Nothing of these products worked for me. Too sticky.. I have a combination skin.. it looked horrible.. to shinny …
I can see that, Jean. I think she’s an inspirational person and I’ve loved both brands. The brand Bobbi Brown has some of my favorite products. Jones Road is offering very specific thing, and it just isn’t going to work for everyone.
Big waste of $ ! Could’ve used Vaseline and a crème blush and looked nicer! Big marketing hype… more people do not like it than do.sticky greasy looking and tacky😮 Bobbi brown sold us out on this one. What an expensive mistake for me but not for Bobbi brown!
Hey Beth like you I came late to the game. I'm 65 with dry skin, and I have found that using the Miracle Balm as my primer has been a huge success. I first apply Miracle Balm all over my face
(Miami Beach, Dusty Rose, or Sunkissed, depending on my mood) and find that it gives me a sheer veil of luminous color.
Thank you, Anne! This really made my day 😘😘😘😘
Many influencers have been hired or given credits by Bobby Brown promote this product.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the review! I have not stopped wearing the foundation since it arrived-it’s really working for me. I hope you enjoy it 🥰😘
My box just arrived. I love it!
Fantastic!!
You will love it. Start with a small amount and experiment with it. I’m 70 and I get so many compliments on Jones Road. Less is more!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and review, Kathy! I am interested in Au Naturel, too. I hope you enjoy the eyeshadow! 🥰😘
And it does not feel sticky to you? That is my concern.
and I wonder if your hair sticks to your face
This is a really informative and well presented tutorial for Jones Road makeup. I ordered and have been using the WTF foundation, miracle balm and face sticks. Watching this helped me put it all together for a pretty everyday look. Thank you for sharing the history of BB and your knowledge of makeup application. Well done and fun to watch👏🏼
Thank you, Kelley! I really appreciate your kind words. 🥰😘
Thank you so very much for this super thoughtful and helpful review of these products. 🥰🥰🥰
This is by far the best review I’ve seen on jones road products! Thank you!
Wow! Thank you, Katie 💖💖💖
Great review. It’s nice to see one that is so articulate and well thought out, refreshing in the makeup review arena. Thanks!
How kind!! Thank you. I’m glad you found this worth your time 🥰😘
Just bought 200 dollars worth of Jones Road products. All before watching any videos. I haven't received them yet . I am 67 and love, love BB's new concept. I have only used bare minerals cosmetics for the past 15 years. Your video gives me good vibes about the products. Thanks.
Yay! Please let me know what you think? I’m really enjoying this brand. Did you pick up any of the Lip & Cheek sticks? I’m loving the two I chose.
Thank you so much!! This comment made my night 💖
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. 💖💖💖
I completely enjoyed your review. Refreshingly honest and transparent
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback 💖
LOL
Wow to the mascara!!
I live in a northern state where we get very little sun during the winter.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Anne! 🥰😘 Magic Hour sounds perfect. I would very much like to visit their bricks &. mortar location. 😍
It sounds like we had the same make up artist at the NYC store. I must have the same coloring as you because he recommended all of the same products for the summer look I wanted and I bought every one! Love it!
excellent review. I watched the entire thing. I just started using Jones Road products and am getting a great result. I agree about the mascara... well said.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Janet! 🥰😘 I really tried to make the mascara work, but it’s just not for me.
This is one of the best reviews of Jones Road products that I’ve seen! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
I’ve tried Jones Road.
Do they all have "glitter"? What on earth is it made of?
I love Jones Road and thought your critique was clear with good explanations and instructions.
Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful. 💖
Yes, I would have loved to try these in store. The dusty rose bronzer is exactly the one I was looking at. Something that isn’t orange! 🥰
Much appreciated! Been eyeballing these products for awhile now. This video helped a lot!
You’re so welcome, Kristen! Thanks for watching.
First time viewer…really informative review! Thanks. I’ve been curious about Jones Road. Subscribed. 😊
I'm so glad you're here!
I love the WTF so much. I’m almost through a second jar and I will reorder. It’s really good for me in the cold winter months.
Great review. You told me all I need to know to make informed decision on whether or not I'll like this product.
Awesome 👏 thank you
Personally, I have never really liked eye shadow pallets.
This makes perfect sense to me! I do think the formula is excellent, and if you did find your shade, you would probably love to use it.
Fabulous!! Thank you so much. It’s nice that there is a fair return policy because this product does polarize folks. 💖
Excellent review and AMAZING HAIR!
Thank you!!!🥰😘
6:34 You actually don't need a primer with this product at all. Many professional Makeup Artists don't use primer unless under very specific circumstances on certain parts of the face under very specific conditions. This is a tinted skin care product, so direct application is ides. As a tangent: Bobbi herself says not to use moisturizer first if our skin is oily.
Thank you, Violet! This is super helpful. 🥰🥰🥰
I think if you dug down deeper in the Miracle Balm, as they recommend you do, you’d get a more intense color.
That’s a great tip. I kind of don’t want to ruin the surface! *bravery*
I am the same way with being late to the party! Lol I love the way the mascara looked!
I can’t change! 😂😂 the mascara looks incredible, but it’s not my favorite. I could see someone loving it, though. Mascara is so personal.
Thank you for a wonderful review, you're absolutely gorgeous and I love your hair 💖💖
Thank you so much! 🥰😘 I’m glad you enjoyed the review.
Loved your review! It was honest and I appreciate how you added in bits of info I thought were important. Probably the best I’ve seen. Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
I’m so glad!! This is a high compliment. ❤️❤️❤️
I love everything I have tried so far! The foundation is magic! My foundation and miracle balm has no scent. I’m kinda disappointed, I was looking forward to that spa scent! .
Oh wow, really!!? Interesting so glad you’re happy with these products. I use WTF almost every day.
Thank you for this review. My hair color is very similar to yours. I just turned 60 and I’ve not worn a lot of make up. I really like how easy the eye shadow was to apply….
You’re welcome! I’m finding these metallic shimmers nicely flatter my silver hair. 👩🏼🦳 I wonder if you find the same to be true for you.
Just got mine so I’ll be playing later today!!

Great review. I am going to purchase…thank you for your honesty.
I hope it works for you! Thanks for watching 🥰😘
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK oh yes I love it as well. It’s one of the first products I got!
Great review, thank you! I’m really interested in this foundation and the balms.
Thank you! They’re really different. My skin loves the foundation-especially in winter. ❄️
My skin is dry and i want fast, light makeup, so this line is what I'm going for 😊
I hope this works well for you, Meredithia! I have thoroughly enjoyed this makeup line 🥰😘
I want to try all this!! (Bobbi Brown signed a non-compete but once it expired = JONES ROAD!!)
Ahhh, of course! It gave her enough time to develop a brand. Thanks for sharing, Joy! 🥰😘
Love your hair!
Thank you!
I love your hair colour!💗
Thank you!! 🥰😘
Always so lovely
Thank you! 😊
I do have a question do you prefer the au natural miracle balm as highlighter over the Shimmer face oil as a highlighter? Thanks
Definitely the shimmer face oil!!
Great review of the line
Thank you, Amanda! 🥰😘
Pretty! What is your best way to remove the oily Jones Road foundation / makeup? Thank you.
Thanks! I do a double wash-a cream wash and then a sudsy one. I use Sisley White Lily for step 1 and then Clinique All About Clean.
Great review! Thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Kelly! 🥰😘
Thanks for your comment, Elsa. If you don’t mind, which color of the miracle balm did you choose? Do you wear it all over your face?
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK bought it in Flushed and apply as blush....
@@elsagoncalves8461 thank you! I’m still curious about this product in other shades.
Agree about the foundation names: my skin tone is fair but I have to use Porcelain. That said, I love it and the whole brand!!
I love it too!! Thanks for sharing your feedback on the colors.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK BTW, your hair is GORGEOUS 😍
I think it's sticky, but I wear it under my makeup and use a little powder.
Glad it was helpful and yes! Sorry about the focus. It’s a homemade production.
I wonder if they’ll respond! Great idea to ask. 💖
Enjoyed your review…
Thank you, Barb! I’m so glad you’re here 🥰😘
Hi. Do you know how wtf compares to rms uncovered foundation that looks very similiar?
Great question. No I haven’t tried RMS.
@InfinitegardenbyBethK well I may have missed it but you don't set the wtf correct? Do you have to touch up throughout the day?
How did you choose your foundation color from the web site? Did you go by their quiz or send a selfie?
I think this line looks greasy not glowy. I appreciate you showing it, because is shows me it is not for me.
I'm glad to have helped, Kathie. It's definitely on that end of the spectrum.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK Yes I appreciate you showing it, Just watching the advertisements about it made me think it would not be for me, but your video confirmed that for me. Thank you for sharing,
I have heard that miracle balm is very gloppy all day.. what are your thoughts?
This is an interesting question. I hate to answer “it depends” but I think it does. If your skin is naturally oil-prone, I think it might feel that way. If your skin is dry, you might find it is your dream product for keeping your skin hydrated. I have combination skin and find it works better for me on my dry cheek area than on my oil-prone forehead. I hope this helps. 🥰😘
Does this mascara smudge?
No, not at all. It sets really hard.
I love the Chanel Sublimage but it’s now $135😮. I think I. See to try this.
I have another video where I compare them in great detail. Check that out in my Makeup Obsession playlist!
What kind of powder?
Hi. I Used Koaas Cloudset in Feathery.
I'm 51 with combination skin and these products were way too oily for me.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Caroline. 🥰 I can absolutely see that.
Does it make your face sticky??
I would not say sticky. It does feel like I have heavy moisturizer on, and it can easily be scratched off with a fingernail (I discovered this accidentally 🤪). I always set it a bit with powder but I like that it doesn’t dry down because there is no breaking up or caking.
Well I was going to get fair but now undecided 😂 so I am fair with neutral undertones. I don’t currently use foundation so I don’t know what to compare it to.
She just expanded the foundation shade , and I ordered Ivory, a light neutral. I have not received it yet but I hope it’s a better match for me.
You should say which colors you are using
Great tip!
I have the miracle balm in tawny and I plan to use that for a natural glow in the summer. It works well with my moisturizer which is oil of Olay. And then, of course, I always wear sunscreen. ❤
Thank you for your input! I am curious about Tawny, too. One of my all time
Favorite blushes is an ancient Bobbi Brown powder blush in Tawny. It’s the best, most natural color and I’ve been curious how the Miracle Balm compares. 🤔🤔🤔
What foundation and powder brushes do you use?
Hi Carol, I use a wide variety. Everything from inexpensive sets from beauty supply stores to Japanese Fude brushes. I can do a video in the future of my favorite brushes-they’re definitely a mix of high and low.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK Thank you! I thought you mentioned a brush number in your video. I loved your review..so helpful. I have an order on the way. Already have the miracle balm…love it.
Awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰🥰
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK me again…what kind of loose face powder do you use? Thank you so much!
You look great. I think you would look even better with cooler colours.
Thank you! I’m definitely cooler-toned. It’s taken me a lifetime to figure that out-but now I see it.
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I once had a colour expert tell me I was a summer when I am a spring. It cost me a fortune to change all my clothes and makeup!
@@catharineinniss that’s a huge difference! I’ve always been told I’m warm, but it’s clear to me now I’m a winter.
I wish it wasn’t blurry at foundation to see it applied on.
I’m sorry!
What shade in the wtf do you use
Fair. I’m normally Light Neutral, not usually Fair.
It's beauty as skin care.
I agree with this.
Never mind you did say it
Attn: Angie has oily skin. This makeup is not for people with oily or even normal, skin.
I think there’s truth to this. I have massively combination skin, including a super oily forehead. It does work beautifully on my dry cheeks.
Which shade is this in the foundation?
This is Fair
What color WTF
Unfortunately, the packaging isn't durable. Both of the lids on my WTF's have both split for no reason at all. Cheap.
Interesting! I have not had that issue myself, but I can see how that might happen.
Dumped my WTF foundation-a sticky mess with tiny clumps in it. What a waste of money.
I’ve heard about these tiny clumps! I did not experience that but I would likely have had the same reaction.
You have beautiful skin without makeup. You need a camera that doesn't constantly refocus and has a higher pixel count. It's very hard to watch.
I’m so sorry about it the poor quality. I’ve fixed my camera settings, but I am indeed due for an upgrade.
Wow that lip gloss is a miss! What a cheap applicator! Reminds me of preteen makeup.
Yeah, the packaging is giving drugstore for sure.
Honestly it feels and looks exactly like I smeared Vaseline all over my
face. I hope some other ladies like it. But it’s not for me at all. I wanted a light natural looking tinted face cover. This did not deliver that for me at all. See how greasy her face looks! It’s terrible 😂
Different strokes, etc!
I went to the JR store in NJ… got a consultation… purchased foundation/ blush/ eye shadows and concealer.. Nothing of these products worked for me. Too sticky.. I have a combination skin.. it looked horrible.. to shinny …
Do not like fragrance in my make up game changer 😢
Totally understand!!
A bit too shiny not dewy. Looks oily
Yes, that’s definitely the finish.
Sure love Bobbi Brown but not Jones Road.
I can see that, Jean. I think she’s an inspirational person and I’ve loved both brands. The brand Bobbi Brown has some of my favorite products. Jones Road is offering very specific thing, and it just isn’t going to work for everyone.
Outrageously priced rip off. Shame on Bobby Brown a lot of influencers have been hired to promote a product that stinks especially for older women.
It’s okay to think this, but I want to make it clear for the record they haven’t paid me a dime or sent me any free products.
Speak your truth!
