- It is no secrete that AMD 5000 series cards have had some issues, in the video I show how I fixed my RX 5600XT from constant rebooting and almost 30 days of testing later I am proud to say it works!

@The Last Game Hunter SOLVED!!! This is my solution...
1.Instal DDU from Guru3D
2.Run a safe mode (press shift + restart)
3.Go to Troubleshoot, and Go to Safe Mode
4.Run your DDU, remove your AMD/NVIDIA Driver. if u have history with 2 card of that, remove both
5.Now Download your driver VIA YOUR GPU BRAND (This is very Important)
Make sure that match the name of your name GPU (example : my gpu Gigabyte 5600 XT Gaming Oc 6GB) Go to Gigabyte web, download the same name of your Gpu, search (Gigabyte 5600 XT Gaming Oc 6 GB, dont just 5600 XT, check and recheck your gpu name, then instal, and run, Problem Solved.
I think we should first delete the drivers from the list of programs ourselves and then use the ddu to clear any remaining debris and files that may cause a new installation problem.

Was having BSOD every day at random times, even when not gaming. I did this and it seems to have worked so far. Was running games all day and not one BSOD yet. Ripped some maxed Call of Duty for 3 hours (which would normally cause BSOD after second match) and it ran perfectly fine. Thank you for this!

Super gracious for the tip on this... The concerns here are more so with fan control while the cards running smooth as now... It's also not ramping up the fans with heat ... note: MSI Afterburner was used to correct this issue

Had to come back and tell you and anyone who will read this. IT WORKED!!!!!!!! I had been super frustrated, as this was my first real build. I thought I had a bad GPU and I was about to return it to Microcenter, but like you I felt like I know this stuff, not as well as you, but I do. After watching your video I tried to replicate exactly what you did, and I was successful. It's working great (Knock on wood). I just fished playing a decent game of Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 and that is a super intense GPU game. I cant thank you enough for putting out this video. You have a subscriber in me.. Thanks.

For real man, thank you, yesterday COD was stuttering all the way with BSODs and crashes and reboots. Today i removed drivers with DDU and installed the way u did, and it works like a charm!

@@RukaShrimp yes. I mean. After many experiments, i assumed that if you leave it as it is (no manual oc, no “gaming profiles”) the gpu will not crash. While as you try to do even a minimum oc, it will crash. So, if you install manually, like explained in the video, or a classic install with radeon software without any tweaks after the install, the gpu will not crash. Maybe you can tweak the fan settings, but i do not raccomend to tweak clock speed and memory frequences
@@RukaShrimp ok today i played a bit with gpu settings. So, now im with manual installation and msi afterburner. After some tests, i understood the problem of my gpu (it can be yours too, who knows).
I found out that if i tweak memory speed the gpu will crash no matter what, while the gpu clock speed can be tweaked without problems. So, try manual installation and go for msi afterburner, give that 20% plus of power consumption and max out the clock speed (afterburner will automatically set the maximum safe clock speed and the voltage required), but do not touch memory speed, and you should be fine!

Thank you so much, after 2 days the problem seems to be solved here too. It used to black screen and reboot at least twice a day, gaming, working or watching videos. Had a problem with chrome too, which I solved disabling the hardware acceleration in the browser options.

Im so happy that i found this video. After 3 years of constantly having problems with my rx 5700XT and around 10 "fixes" tried, this is the only fix for me. This Radeon Software always crashed over and over again at several games (Valorant, Modern Warfare, FF14, Apex Legends). After 3 years i can finally play this games without fears of crashing and rebooting. Thank you so much!

What issue would you have? Would it crash to desktop or show "no signal" on your monitors or what?
I tried this about 3 months ago, it fixed about 99% of the problems I was having with this card. I still have a few extremely rare crashes/restarts, but that is only when playing a game called "Osu!" but that could be due to other issues. Other than that, it does not crash anymore and works fine! Thanks so much for this, it worked for me!

Yeah A2020 is also a very large and intrusive program. If it conflicts with anything, you get squirrely issues like that. NEVER use the beta drivers ;)
What I found out is that this issue is present with Dual VBIOS cards, it's definitely a software/Driver issue.

I haven't finished the video yet but just want to say that you seem like a really good dude. I went through the same issues as you. black screens when playing video games, out of return window, pain in the a** to send it back to OEM. ended up just turning the silent bios on mine and it worked but obviously had a huge performance hit. Eventually got a new RTX card.
Now I'm here a year later seeing if there are any solutions and it's looking hopeful. Best wishes ser.

Tried this about 4 days ago and no crashes/reboots so far... it tends to happen every 1-8 days for me or even longer so if it runs for a month with no crashes, I will consider this fixed :)

I've also found in adrenaline setting FPS lock to whatever your monitor refresh rate is instead of using vsync is much better gameplay with no stutters and gpu will run at lower temps.

For me it was the damn bios. They released a new bios forcing the cards to do 14000 MHz on the VRAM instead of 12000. I installed back the old BIOS, works as new!

Just did this, so far it's working and hopefully stays that way. I was really bummed when my new 5600xt black screened but it's a bit a relief to see the adrenaline software has been problematic.

@@LastGameHunter So far so good! BF5, Fallen Order, Warzone are all playing very well. The one instance I had before was on Fort where I blacked screened with the mouse cursor still displaying but hasn't happened since.

@@LastGameHunter Hey just a quick little update, it seems some games needed adrenaline installed to not crash (Borderland 3, Fallen Order, Fort) but could just be specific to my PC. I wanted to love it but I ended up selling and going with a NVIDIA card.

It’s been working for me for a while now, a week without any black screen / bluedeath. I uninstalled with DDU and then installed the latest available version without the readeon software (12.1)
Also, delete msi afterburner or any overclocking thing on your videocard, maybe you can underclock your ram speed, thats helped me too.

@@gorkman5697 Hey, yes these things solved my problem, i manually installed the driver, without radeon software, remove all oc things like msi afterburner, and remove things like vibrancegui and underclock ram speed a lil bit, what type of cpu you have? if you have the ryzen gen, you should reinstall the chipset drivers, that helped me once, ( you can download from official amd site) you should test your powersupply with another high powerneeded videocard. I know the problem is very common, and sometime hard to make it to work normally. I am so sorry for your loss..:(

I came across this video a month before I actually tried it and I have to say I regret the month I spent with the black screens and constant crashes. This method worked flawlessly and kept the extra AMD software that causes the black screens off my PC. I honestly feel so stupid because it got to a point where I thought it might be a CPU issue which lead me to buy a new CPU. A day before my new CPU arrived I fixed the issue. For those wondering I still kept the CPU because that 3600XT performance was better for my 5600xt. And my trusty 1600 was donated to a good friend of mine .

@@LastGameHunter still having Overwatch crashes but not sure if they are GPU related, played for a while to test it and it crashed but wasnt a black screen, then i played some more, disregarding the crashes and then unfortunately i got a black screen with a buzzing sound. I just bought a brand new Sapphire Radeon 5600 xt, and began to have these issues from minute 1. I use Windows 10. Weird, it has never crashed or froze while gaming or heavy testing (Benchmark, OCCT, etc,) but while writing an essay in MS Word, searching Wikipedia with Chrome or watching UA-cam videos. I tried this fix and this happens definitely less often, but still, it is a pain in the *ss. Guess if we can hope for an official solution from AMD.

Just tried this, as I was having non-stop problems with MSFS(2020) yet could run other newer games without issue. I'll post back after doing some flying, but huge thanks for the video, I have heard very good results for us flight simmers using AMD GPU's(I'm on a RX5600XT), so I'm giving it a bash! Thanks again!

@@LastGameHunter Spent quite a bit of time stress testing last night and today. In both normal mode and in VR, performance was both smoother, and more stable. Flew in a large group flight over Las Vegas in VR on a European server(I'm classed in the East US) and things went very well.

@@Kelevelin Hi bro, it did not work for me sadly. But last dec 28, 2020 i reformat my pc and using the latest stable drivers with adrenaline and it's working 100% eversince. No reboot, black screen and whatsoever. Unlike before that there are blackscreen once a week.

Seems like that program cause the problems
For real, I thought my RX 5700 XT was broken and I did so much troubleshooting and replacing RAM and Power Supply didn't work, etc.
I watched this video 2 weeks ago and tested this setting 2 weeks. Now I write this comment.
This! This solved all the crashes and freezes for me. Not a single problem! So simple to do, but so effective! After almost 2 years my system is finally stable. Thank you!

Oh Man I have this black screen issues with s gaming x video card, did this and it fixed the freaking damn and annoying restarts. I was also contacting MSI for warranty and this fixed it. YOU ARE A GENIOUS

I fought with this problem for a year. Unfortunately your advice didn't help in my case.
But I noticed that default value of P3 frequency by Radeon driver is 1780 Mghz. Despite my vendor (Gigabyte) writes that maximum boost clock is 1750 Mghz.
I lowered to 1750 and stayed 2 weeks without crashes.
Lowered to 1740 and finally I'm crash free

A fix worked for me on adrenaline, that is reset all the settings back to default. Go to Gaming -> Games -> Global Settings, on the top right there is a reset key press it and reset the settings ( Make Sure you select standard gaming profile with everything turned off). Then go to Performance -> Tuning, then reset the settings. Then restart your PC. This fixed the issues for me. I hope it helps others.

Hey! I have a question, I also have random crashes but most of my crashes happen when I play specific games like overwatch and valorant and it crashes with an error message of "graphic driver crashed", and then I would re-launch the game and my whole computer would restart, would this fix my issue?

I used DDU v18.0.0.6 to clean nvidia drivers, uninstall Msi afterburner, and it works! I installed drivers by this way, and the Cyberpank 2077 started without green screen!

I can confirm that this does work, I have a XFX thicc 3 5600xt and I tried everything and it was to the point, were I was thinking about going back to nvidia, but since using the steps in this video, my gpu has not crashed at all in 2 weeks and has been running perfectly fine, big thanks!!!

I wished it did for me, I also have XFX 5600 XT Thicc iii. tried the fix seemed to help a bit for a week or so then it started happening again, reinstalled win 10 clean, tried again and still the same. Sadly I have to give up and return it to Amazon. I have to go back to Nvidia RTX as don't seem to have issues with those. Glad you have yours working!!

5600XT Sapphire Pulse here.
I will be playing a game and the Black screen will come up and I can still hear the game running but can't see anything. Other times the whole PC will lock up pretty bad.
I am pretty defeated about this and wanted to give Radeon a chance as im a fan of AMD. I'm not sure what to do anymore but to just end my grief and go team Green.
I don't have much time to play being a Truck Driver. I get maybe a couple days out of the month and I rather not waste it trying to fix a companies mistakes.
Im going to give this a shot and see if it works... Shame that I can't have the Radeon Software though.

Keep in mind im a truck driver so i could only be home long enough to test it for 4hrs, but usually my GPU would of crashed 2 or 3 times in the first hour and once or twice almost every hour after.
When I get home on Halloween I will play all day and send an update here how it went.
see after i fixed the issues with my rx 5600xt i love it but the only issue is i hate that adrenaline is just a whole lot of shit dumped in 1 program i would much rather have what nvidia does and have your control panel and then something like geforce experience. and i would also prefer if i could overclock using msi after burner my overclocks on Adrenalin always reset and its really annoying

Hey! You are a genius. I ran the solution in my computer and it worked. I still have a problema though and maybe you can help me. Now the card gives me video signal all the time except at the bios begining, where the screen doesn't show anything (no signal). It's connected through the monitor via hdmi. The weird thing is, if I connect the gpu via hdmi to the tv, it shows the bios screen 😐. I don't know what to do!
that is a weird one, it seems like the monitor is not picking up the card at start and that should not happen.
Hola a toda la comunidad hispana que llegó a este video por problemas de su gpu, compré una gygabyte oc rx5500 xt y después de un mes de uso empezó a dar pantalla negra y me frezeo Windows cada vez que lo iniciaba, la mandé de vuelta , compré una shaphire 5700 xt y luego de un mes ,nuevamente empezaron las pantallas negras.. hice absolutamente todo para hacerla funcionar y nada , otra vez de vuelta , que me pase una vez es mala suerte , pero dos es algo más que mala suerte , AMD y RDNA 1 está roto ! Conslusion No recomiendo por nada en el mundo comprar una gpu de la serie 5000 ... Aún no entiendo cómo nadie aún toma acciones legales contra AMD por vender un producto fallado , claro hay gente que nunca a tenido problemas con sus gpu AMD pero hay muchísima gente reportando errores , y son errores que no se arreglan con drivers , Al final compré una 1660 super y veré qué trae nvidia y AMD con sus nuevas gpu .. ( espero que AMD lance su serie 6000 sin problemas o nvidia terminará ganando el mercado ...
Estaba encantado por las AMD 5000 por su rendimiento en juegos según varios videos. Pero definitivamente no optaré por una. Será mejor tirar por el lado de NVIDIA, la 1660S quizás :/

Radeon Software now has an option for "Drivers Only" install. Just wanted you to know. My Radeon Wattman crashed all the time. So I am going by your solution now to see if it fixes this. Hold your thumbs for me.

you have removed all AMD 2020 software and then you right click Microsoft basic drivers and manually install the driver you pick from the AMD folder?

I’ll try this when I get home later will update afterwards. My problem has been once the driver installs if I put my pc in sleep mode or if it restarts I’ll end up in a boot loop and have to do a system restore from the blue error screen. Wish me luck 🤞🏾

Uninstalling the Radeon Software solved it! Super gracious for your advice! I tried everything both software (fresh re-installation of windows) to hardware (switched PSUs, other hardware etc.).
Now, I'm trying to figure out what may be conflicting with the Radeon Software (if it's not the Radeon Software itself). My guess is my RGB software (Armory Crate Lite Service). I'm going to uninstall this and reinstall the Radeon software to see if the crashes come back.

@@LastGameHunter So after many months, I've realised that I can install the full version of Radeon Software. But the issue actually stems from either using the recording or Instant Replay. If either of these are on, it can contribute to the screen crash, which is very weird. I've been trying to source if others are experiencing this same thing, but not necessarily to any avail. But yeah, full version of Radeon for me can be installed. Just the recording feature shouldn't be used (otherwise, after an hour or so if i'm still recording, it has a probability of leadin got the issue, or if i'm using instnat replay, it may eventually do this as well after a couple of hours to a day or two of constantly being on).

Just tried this on a fresh out of box MSI RX 5600 XT Gaming MX. Even after BIOS update from MSI live updates I was getting black screens shortly after jumping into games. So far after swapping drivers this seems to fixed the issue. Thanks much for putting this together.

Which driver version did you use that worked? I cant find anyone who reccomends a certain version, im running 20.4.2 as anything above that gives me black screens and game crashes so if you could tell me that would be very helpful.

@@benpeckham3491 I am currently running driver version 20.9.2. After my Initial comment I had no issue until I tried to wake from sleep the following morning which resulted in black screen until hard reset. At that point I completely uninstalled MSI Afterburner and Dragon Center and all drivers before before installing Adrenalin completely. For what it's worth no issues today.
Best of luck on fixing this. It's extremely frustrating on a brand new build.

I sympathise completely with the depression this stuff causes; fortunately I was able to rationalise it as a "fun" activity to keep me sane during lockdown. My problem with the Gigabyte 5600XT has been failure to boot into Windows whenever the ambient room temperature is below 21C. Over a period of three months I tried uninstalling the software and just installing and using the driver, as well as trying multiple clean installs of Windows and a replacement card from the vendor. Ultimately found a workaround which is to disable the AMD Display Adapter in Device Manager before shutting down. When I power up the next day, when it successfully boots into Windows I assume the PC is using the Windows Basic Display Adapter with the graphics card as I have no integrated graphics on the CPU; then, if I'm doing anything which requires the power of the AMD display adapter (eg. videos, dvds, games &c) I re-enable the AMD Radeon in Display Manager and everything works perfectly. AMD have been no help. The clue as to the problems lies somewhere between LGH's fix and my workaround - you'd think AMD would have figured it out by now.

I have problem with my sapphire r 390 nitro.i get black screen when it gets hot.
I got the thermal paste replaced.problem still continue
I tried everything nothing works
I don't know why it is happening
I didn't have this problem before
My power supply is 850 watts
I took my PC to the computer technician.
They told me my chipset has a problem
My sapphire card works when i play games if the temperature goes to 65-70
I get black screen.i can hear the sound of the games
I think problems caused because
One day electric went off
It took me hours to turn back on
I changed the bios battery PC turned one
Or it might happen after i install the MSI burner or AMD Radeon software
But thousands of people have the same problems
I don't think their electrIc went off
They have similar problems

this happened to me.. i had to send it back and they fixed it.. works fine now but was without a GPU for 2 months :(

try older versions or maybe Amd Pro enterprise drivers, but clean with DDU first
You are not alone.. I think next step is to do a clean windows 10 install and then install driver manually
@@Mel7832009 disconnecting HDMI plug and reconnecting worked for me... But now I am having incompatibilities with programs like discord (notification says discord does not have acces to graphics hardware, weird) or Among us: stops working.
Thanks a lot man!! I totally understand what you went through.. I was inch closer to throw my 6800XT into a garbage can.. I even cleaned and applied thermal paste twice on my processor as it was almost melting suddenly. This video is GOLD.. I subscribed!

Did this work for you? My 6800xt has random reboots but only ever in Warzone. I can play cold war for hours on end and ive been playing some watch dogs legion too for hours and none of those have my pc rebooting.
I can understand Crashing to desktop, but a full system reboot as if my PSU cant handle it or something. I have a corsair HX750.
@@durimotara3757 yes, it works for me. The Radeon software is buggy. It even messed up the temps of my processor. I first tried swapping my 6800XT with my old 2060S, the problems stopped. Then I saw this video and it is stable. I haven’t tried OC though, my MSI afterburner is not letting me change any values, I am running the GPU @ stock values.

Okay well... ever since I got my 6800xt a year ago I had random black screens and blue screens. I just assumed it was a tradeoff of getting a new tech gpu from AMD... but a month ago my gpu actually fried entirely. I got it replaced under warranty, and when the new one was also doing the crashes I did some searching and jesus... I wish I'd seen this video a year ago. I am sad I won't be a ble to use adrenalin, as I really do like that software, but this is amazing. Thanks for making this video. Absolutely needs more attention.

I totally get the depression bro, my only happiness in this moment that we are living is my stupid pc, and I was dumb enough to open my wallet and waste my precious money into this garbage. Now thanks to amd my happiness is gone, I've failed at everything even at the only thing that gave me fun.. I wish that I could get a black screen in my life

For me the solution on Asrock 5600xt was undervolt and underclock the card to 1650 and voltage 800/800/880 i share this if someone has the same card,this was the fix for everything.

Mine Asrock d2 5600xt run perfectly fine, unless i OC Vram speed over 1770mhz.. Its crashed. Currently run at 1820mhz Core clock, 1770 Vram clock, 870 volt.
@@bamboo9666 I fixed all of the problems it wasn't the video card that was giving me bsod or greeen screen crash it was the RAM,somehow the voltage was lower than normal
