It's impressive for sure. If they keep iterating existing platforms into highly competitive vehicles, people will take notice. The Chevy Trax for example has been well received and is excellent for the price. The new Chevy Equinox looks promising. This is a huge improvement over the outgoing Chevy Traverse. They're definitely going in the right direction.
@@sansin6250 While the Z71 looks fantastic, I'd probably try to convince Megan to go with the RS for the features (cooled seats are nice down here in Georgia) and the slightly crisper ride and handling balance, along with slightly better steering. Plus it's gorgeous in the red and black combo, and we're big UGA fans.
My main complaint about the choice of options for the traverse is, if you want the bose sound system you have to get super cruise. From what i read for super cruise you have to pay for a subscription for it to continue to work after a free 3 year trial. I just want the better sound system.
Go to a stereo shop... I'm waiting for my RS to arrive and I am considering it even with the premium sound system as I have that in my current Acadia....
100% agree with you. however, i test drove an RS with the premium sound and even the premium sound sucks compared to my cherokee's premium sound. so bad that i'm definitely going to get aftermarket audio installed.
Yes, the Traverse appeals to me. We are looking to start a family and want a larger vehicle that puts us higher up in driving position, has great safety features, and is able on trail roads as we go 'glamping' and take trips often to mountain retreats and nature parks. This looks great and seems to have all we need. The interior is actually fine for me. Not looking for luxury, we're looking for utility, comfort, reliability, and a sense enjoyability. Will probably test out a Traverse when we opt out of our Subaru. Had it 6 years now and it's great, but want a beefier ride. Thanks for the video!
It’s May 6th waiting on delivery of a Silver RS fully loaded had the order in January 8 I might be the only one riding in it it’s just Me & my Wife. She has an Infinity. QX50 Sport around Christmas she said you should get back in a Tahoe and I seen this model and I’ve been sold since.. my sales person says he has the Vin number so it should be any day. This dealer here in Indianapolis got one in last week. He says mines should be next. But it was a LS..
Great Review, My RS is being built as I type. I can't wait!! Going from a 17 Acadia to the Traverse RS and I am excited... Needed a little more room and the styling combined with tech is why.
Nice long review. My question is with this for towing and the 4 cylinder…can it tow a 4,000lbs trailer for 500 miles no issues? I’m told to stick with v6 for long term health of engine. Also, what the heck is the max tongue weight on it?
Thanks! Not sure about the max tongue, but I'd probably trust the new turbo 4 more than the old V6, which didn't have the best reputation. The turbo 4 is new but based on the 2.7 used in the trucks, which I would imagine has higher duty ratings than the old V6
“I would seriously consider buying a vehicle because it was equipped with Super Cruise.” That’s exactly what I’m doing this week, buying an Acadia with Super Cruise sight unseen after having tried Super Cruise on a Lyriq and a Yukon. That the feature is now in a mainstream vehicle, that’s like “would you like a Model T?” Hell yeah. And, I don’t care what that T’s engine sounds like.
No HUD? No Deal! Although, it appears the top of dash may be considering a HUD. (Waiting until second year for HUD? Maybe a good decision?!) A V6 would be my second wish (towing). Why doesn't Chevy offer a Midsize 4 x 4 ? (What happened Blazer? Bronco nailed it! Sorry)
That course is hardly an off road. Its too level and pose no challenge to really test the vehicle to see how good it can handle when pushing it hard. That front of the car just doesnt flow with the rest of the body period. It just look kinda funky with that rectangle hood. That super cruise is just a convenien e feature that i can live without. As a driver you should be the one in charge of your vehicle and not let the computer do the work as sonetime they aren't as reliable for safety reason. I much rather be in control of the car then letting that feature be the eye. Panaramic roof, super cruise, lane keep assist, etc all just an added axtra cost for temporary convenience. I wouldn't rely solely on those foe safety. If they malfuncation out of the blue and youre not in control. Your chance of vehicle collision are high. These newer traverse just doesn’t look as appeal nor made any logical sense. It just look very out of place and funky shape. The first model 2018 Traverse looks much more sportier and sleeker in design. Super easy to work on without all that fuss nor headache because everything is in their proper layout location all within reach.
If you need all those "safety features", then maybe you should'nt be driving period. Accepting these type of tEcKnoLOgIes, as "Baked into the Cake" is not where I want to be at. That said, The Z71 is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) SUV's I've seen so far this year. Have to see how the new engine holds up.
All the hype over the new Traverse gadgets to cover up the small 4 cylinder turbo engine. Turbo says the engine is too small, they are pressurizing the small engine to make it produce more power giving false impression you have power. We were interested in a new Traverse but never with a 4 cylinder. We have a 2017 GMC Acadia with a V-6 and have gotten 34 MPG on the highway. No way will the 4-cylinder be able to maintain its power over the life of the vehicle, as the engine wears it will be much less than a V-6 as it wears. GM has lost this customer. Reply
Best in class...pfffft! Hardly. It's gotten uglier and funkier. Doesn't matter what trim it is. Funky is the description for these newer traverse. This is hardly an off-road driving on dirt road that pose very little challenge. Any vehicle can go off-roading on dirt road. Driving on grass is NOT off-roading. You do realized you're just driving on a flat mild dirt road. You're giving these newer traverse too much credit for very little
Love my 2024 Chevy traverse RS!
Chevrolet has been doing things right for a while now. People need to see it and try it. Not sure why it doesn't happen!

@@jax1079 If you were to get a Traverse, which trim would you get? As a family hauler, which trim offers more overall comfort for long road trips?

Several of us at the event noticed that. Seemed like an odd pairing. 🤷🏼♂️

I dont understand what buying with super cruise and that expiring has to do with the bose system which runs without paying for super cruise
No fog light even on the Z71?
Yes, I would purchase the all-new Traverse. It is amazingly beautiful.
Any video or photos of the ambient lighting?
Sadly all of our content was captured mid day
My rs has ambient lighting

No Hud, or fog lights?
Strangely no, not on the ones we tested anyway
That vibr.ation in super cruise could be from traffic getting to close in opposite lane. I've noticed this in the full size Tahoe and Subberban
Good tip!
I might have just found my new SUV! I think I like it more than the new Jeep GC or VW Atlas. I'm curious to see how the new GMC Acadia will look.
GM design is definitely moving in a good direction.
Will that 360 camera turn off at higher speeds?
Yes, I believe it will. I just never exceeded it.

5000 pounds rated from GM
Can you review the GMC Acadia Denali and share your thoughts on it vs this?
Will do! As soon as we get our hands on one 👍🏻
You hit the nail on the nose. The noise level drive me nuts.
It does some to be a curious oversight considering how thoughtfully executed so many other details of the vehicle are.
Great review buddy. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
They are trying to force you to pay $800 a year for supercruise, by pairing it to the bose sound system.
If you road trip a few times a year, it's totally worth it

You're not wrong. The Ford Bronco is awesome.
It needs a 3.8liter supercharger engine.
Doesn't everything?
Reason I am going for the Travers over the Telluride is supercruise
Worthy reason. If you road trip, it's very worth it
For me it's the moom roof if that's what it's called. The telluride cuts it in half

Disappointing that no 6 cyl option exists.
To some for sure, but more power and torque with better economy is nice
New Equinox interior is tastefully designed..in traverse looks very bland except their common signature screen
Maybe, but it's a MUCH smaller vehicle.
Price is just too much
Compared to what...? Top trims of its competitors cost the same
Sounds like you never own a near luxury vehicle before and you just exaggerating it too mucb.
