If its paid for, keep it for as long as you can. We plan to keep our 2019 Reflection for 10 years or more and we are about 1/2 through that now . Just so much loss of money if traded in to soon. Of course then there is the point of no return if it becomes a money pit. Hard choices, but you know what? You always make the right one!
We know the pains of of Schwintek slide issues & RV life is amazing but comes with it’s pains too! Staying cool when it is hot out is important! Good tips and stay cool 😎 Glad you got the parts so fast!
Hey there Joel and Deb! Yep- you have to take the good with the bad I guess. Sorry you have had to experience the pains of the schwintek! Thanks for your support as always! - Mike and Shelley
Goodness, Goodness.. That slide gave you guys a workout..I vote 🙋🏾♀️ purchase the 370DV😂 Amen Mrs. Shelley..Handy Dandy neck fan is a life saver when there's a power outage during the Summer..2 👍🏾 for the stairs..Oh the laughter y'all bring with those jokes 🤣 I keep warning folks about those Camping Gremlins 🤣Glad to see things were beginning to look up for you guys ❤🙂
Thank and Janice. I will also keep the neck fan in mind for the next power outage. Reason to make sure it’s always charged too! We appreciate you so much! - Mike and Shelley
How frustrating about your slide. Good tip, stay hydrated. You guys stayed so calm through this process. I think I would have lost it! I can see maybe a neck fan would help me not lose it. 🤣 After watching this, I have to say, I'm really glad we don't have a slide! -Michelle
That is one of the appeals to the Airstream for sure! It wast going to do any good to lose it. Like my friend said - maybe we weren’t supposed to go on that trip for a reason. 🤷♀️
That is one of our biggest concerns. Slide issues. (We fixed the suspension worries by a Morryde I.S.). PRO tip on using dryer sheets. Use used ones. For some reason unused one's left a slimy film. Great work guys!
Glad you were able to get your slide fixed, great job Lippert for the quick build and shipping. Makes me wonder how long a dealership would take.. I really like the new stairs, we just had a similar situation this past weekend where our solid steps were too tall, Rats! Safe travels friends!
We had the exact same thing happened to us.And we have the same brand of slides. Personally , I think the pushing while holding the button down was really bad advice. We had a neighbor that came over and helped us that was really smart. He had had the same issue. Lol. He helped us find the reset button. We did it in and out until it lined up. We also learned that if you bold down the button after it is used to the count of 5, it resets. Doing this, we haven't had any more issues. I'm sorry yours is more severe. If it's not one thing it's another. ALWAYS! 😅 Lynn and Danny
You are absolutely right about that! And someone told us a long time ago about holding the button down after opening and closing and we have always done that. With all of the problems with those slides it was bound to happen I guess. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! - Mike and Shelley
Wow, what a nightmare! I remember you commenting in a previous walkthrough video that you weren't a fan of that slide system. It seems to have its issues, known issues, which can be frustrating no matter what the product. The stairs are intriguing, but I'm curious to see them a year from now, we'll have to keep an eye out for future updates.
Lippert even admitted to that it was a bad design and still didn’t recall it. Smh. We feel confident about the new stairs. We have friends that have had them for a while. Now we have two sets of MORyde stairs in our garage 😂! Thanks for watching and safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
We've been having issues with our slides too. Ours is from rust/salt damage on the Lippert thru-frame teeth. So far we've been just babying them because we are full-time and really can't just drop the RV off for repair. My best advice? Don't live next to the ocean/salt water for 8 + months a year.
Yeah there is no way our rv is ever going to a dealership again. They want to hold on to it for months at a time! I’d say being near the ocean is worth it! Good luck with your slide issues! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
Slide breaking is a big fear for me. We have just a small one but a concern. Really want a RV with out one but they are hard to find used and does make for small area inside when using. Good luck with getting the Slide fixed. Really hate you guys having that big issue.
Thanks for sharing. We have also thought of going something without slides for the same reason. They are just so small and we are preparing for full time so I don’t think we can do that. Guess we have to deal with stuff breaking.
That stinks that you had to replace the whole mechanism on your slide! Hopefully the mobile tech was able to get it installed so you don't have to take it in.
We hated missing the Glampout! I admit while we were poolside I did think about how all of you were sweating your butts off playing cornhole. At least you got in the lake!

We hope so! They break down at the most inconvenient times- but is there really ever a convenient time??
I don't own one yet ... But I say after 3 very expensive repairs.. I'm on the hunt for a new RV.. What's the saying 3 strikes and your out 😂
I totally agree! There is never a dull moment in the RV life. Beating the heat is a must. --Jen
You just gotta roll with the punches! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. We really appreciate it!! - Mike and Shelley

Interesting to see you use a power washer. I thought you shouldn’t use these on RVs so I’m supper excited to wash my rig.

Thanks! I never noticed that with the dryer sheets before. Now I need to do a comparison. 🤞🏻you don’t have slide issues!

You and me both! We love the new stairs! Safe travels until we meet again!

Oh no
This makes me rethink
I’m wondering about Airstream and no slides
@@ournexttrail that is a benefit of Airstreams for sure. I just love the roominess you get with slides. It’s a tough choice.
Thanks for sharing thixx as video.
You’re welcome! Thank you for feedback! Stay safe! - Mike and Shelley

Need to go outside and push on the side of the slide that is further out when the other in fully in, while it in going in.
Nothing worked! It was a mess.
That stinks that you had to replace the whole mechanism on your slide! Hopefully the mobile tech was able to get it installed so you don't have to take it in.
Yes it was frustrating that we couldn’t buy replacement pieces. Stay tuned for next week as we share what happens next!
Ours is busted too.
Ugh! So unfortunate. When do you decide it’s time to cut your losses and trade it in??
Hope not. Only a little over a year old and only 5000 miles on it. Still trying to deal with Lippert
Sorry it ruined your plans, it def was hot that weekend
We hated missing the Glampout! I admit while we were poolside I did think about how all of you were sweating your butts off playing cornhole. At least you got in the lake!
We’ve always heard that the schwintech slides don’t do well on large slides. Sorry y’all had to find out!
We will make sure our next rig doesn’t have it on a big slide!
Where is that reset button. I don’t see that on mine. Mine is a 2023 model though. Is is under the slide?
Ours is in the pass through on the drivers side.
