@@OutsidebySide who makes the frame for your rig? I noticed the new 2025 22MLE, GD switched to BAL Norco and any idea if you can run the AC off of the batteries if you got a 3KW inverter since its prepped?
We have a 22mle 2021 and absolutely love it. Stay for four months in winter in Florida and Travel about 2 months the rest of the year. Congratulations on your 2024 and safe travels!

Thank you for a full review of this camper. Just saw this model on the company website. Appreciate real feedback from real owners of these campers. This is definitely on the list to look at in person. Continuing prayers 🙏 for your husband in recovery/good health from his cancer. My husband had testicular cancer bank in 2019 and had a tuff treatment plan but thank God he has been cancer free since then. It's a scary process to go through and makes you appreciate life more. Great video and that is an Awesome floor plan! My wife and I traded up this past fall for a 2023 Imagine 3100RD and love that floor plan as well. The lights under the camper are absolutely genius and I think I’m going to do that as well. We arrive at campgrounds often after dark and that would be so helpful.

We have this trailer and it’s the 2022 with the Murphy bed. We had a very hard time trying to make a decision on this trailer or the one with the Murphy bed . At the end of the day we went with the Murphy bed one for two reasons. You get a couch to add to the two recliners and the big one that my husband just couldn’t deal with is having a bathroom with the kitchen. Congratulations on your new camper and I hope you have many years traveling the world and enjoying life. 😊

, Rockwood 2318 g. We love it but we recently got a truck and it’s time to step up a little. I’m wrestling with the thought of Murphy Bed. Also the thought of having bathroom off kitchen. Love your opinion

Very nice! Lots of features I've never thought about that we could have used so many times before! It's hard to find a camper these days with good build quality and this one seems built really well. I think we are like you folks. We (me and Bill) are starting our 5th season with our Winnebago Mini Drop. It's not a couple's trailer, I think it's a one-person trailer. I wouldn't even add a dog. Small cat maybe. We've been looking at Grand Design and this was one of them. I like the size 22 feet. I don't want to jump to 25 feet. Keep it simple. No more than what we need. I don't need to square dance in the kitchen, but dancing cheek to cheek is nice.
Bill wants the 25-footer that has a DOOR across the bedroom. I like the curtain. It helps to keep the weight of the RV down, less wood, and I want to make a pretty colorful curtain. I do not like slides. We're never had one, so we've avoided all the hassles (breakdowns) that I heard about. I need a pantry so I can stop digging through overhead cabinets that I can't reach. So I've enjoyed watching this video since you are not screamers like so many videos from sales people do.
One more thing: Your map needs to show you've been up here on the right coast. Our map is a little less than yours although we have been as far as Yellowstone and Grand Teton in our Winnie from here in New Hampshire. What a trip that was!! . Maybe after retirement we'll go.......

We have a 16' Hike 100 1316TB so like you small - but a bit bigger would be nice and this would be great other than we'd need a new vehicle (we tow with a 4Runner) thanks for sharing! We sure like the plan of our 2024 22MLE … but it’s was a little disappointing after the second trip the refrigerator had to be replaced, the black tank flush didn’t work, the gray tank valve leaked … all have now been fixed …. Hopefully this refrigerator works as we are ready to pull it but want to make a couple of local trips …. Great video

Hi, you advised you can sit on your recliner with the slide in. Can you confirm that to me please. I was under the assumption that you could NEVER out any weight on the slide in the retracted position. I am buying this exact model,

@arlenewolf5260 Yes, we have sat in our recliners while the slide is in but we do not recline them. We do prefer to have our stabilizers down and it’s not often. We will definitely have to do more research on this! Thanks for your input. Congratulations on your new camper & happy camping! 🥳
@@OutsidebySide I am told that it doesn't matter if the recliners are reclined or not. I was advised that any weight in the slide above the furniture and built in items in the slide can lead to catastrophic failure. I hope I was misinformed since the entire interior is accessible it would be nice to be able to have a seat when parked between two tractor trailers in a rest area.
This week we just bought the 2024 XLS 22 MLE and asked the dealer this question and he said there was no problem with sitting in the recliners when the slide is in.
We just bought our rv that is just like yours. When we bought it the salesman told us never to sit in the recliners with the slid in. Said it puts stress on the slid rails. Have you ever heard this? We absolutely love our 22 mile.

We were told the same. The man at the dealership that did our walkthrough had 30+ years experience with maintenance and repairs of tt’s. He explained why but I wasn’t listening. I was too excited. Thank goodness my husband was listening. 😂

This seems like a really great floor plan for a couple. I’ve only viewed this camper online and UA-cam. If I have a 2023/2024 F150 5.0 V8, how would this tow or would I need more like a F250? Would a weight distribution hitch and sway control be mandatory with the F150 V8? Thanks
@leader674 We have had no problems towing this with our F150. We researched the safety of this model for years to make sure it was not at capacity weight wise. We always recommend a WDH for sway control and safety. We created a video on our WDH which might help you. Thanks for watching and please let us know if you have any additional questions! 😃
Try setting your water temp to 106 and only use the hot water valve. That works great on our 2024 Reflection 315RLTS. No need to mix the cold/hot when taking a shower.

Your walls do have wood.... Fiberglass exterior>Luan wood>foam insulation>luan wood again> wall decor.. no azdel.. with that said any leak issues so far?

We have a question about the refrigerator. We do a lot of dry camping, does the solar that comes with the rig keep the fridge running for days without needing to use a generator? Right now we don’t have to worry about it because we are on propane..
@pammortensen8225 We have not tried boondocking for days so we really can’t answer that yet. We have heard the solar panel and the battery is not going to be good enough to keep the frig running for days. We did upgrade our battery to 100 ah lithium so hopefully that will help. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but you said you sit in your theater chairs when the slide is in. You should contact your dealer and ask if that will damage the slide. The general rule is that your not suppose to do that

What tow vehicle do you use and how many lbs of payload is it rated for according to the door jamb sticker? How has the towing been? How close to the GVWR do you pack your trailer?
@gfmucci We have an F150 With the max tow package. It pulls great! Actually better than our last trailer due to the double axles! Payload of the truck is 1,570. We haven’t had a chance to check the weight on the scale yet. Thanks for watching! 😃

I wonder what is different between the 23&24 models?
@@marktucker1651 The 23 & 24 models are very similar. The ABS brakes are new for 24.

Do you lock your battery and propane when you're away and if so what do you recommend?
@Mz.Stephanie We do have a lock for both but typically in the State and National Parks we aren’t as concerned about it as we are if we are boondocking. 😀
Does the TV swivel so it can be seen from the Bed?
@darrenpenton9120 yes, it swivels and you can watch TV from the bed! A bigger TV would be better but it works! 😀
You better hope it doesn’t have frame failure like so many others

What do you tow with?
@oldsalt8011 We have an F150 with the max tow package! 😀
Well you did it right. Yes, add another solar panel, or battery, or bump up the trucks alternator. The 12VDC frig is great. No more running the propane. Best floor plan out there for the money.
Nice trailer and nice head, Tanya! I don't like having my propane on while traveling either. My concern is the flame blowing out and wasting my gas. I'm going to experiment with my portable power station to see if the fridge will run off electric. Prayers Dave!

Ive been looking at these, how wide is the slide? can he stand up in the shower with out banging his head?? I wish him well with the cancer,I hope he is going to the right place for it.I went to the rong dr for my thryoid cancer... now mayo is the go to place for anything like that. nomore slicing for$$$ dr's for us. how many solar panels can we put on the roof? I want 4 or 5 of the 22 watt panels.so the ac can run off of thehem&lithium batterys.

@@OutsidebySide they dont list the slide size thats why I asked. Yes my troid was removed by a slicing for $$ dr that went to law school...yup he screwed me up butt good. 5 surgery's instead of 1. cut some major nerves. the same out fit told my wife she had breast cancer did a biopsy, then said they need to do another one to determine what kind it was..thats when we went to mayo. thats the best place in the world and less$$$ than the local scammers.
I have a 2021 mle and I love it perfect couples coach could not be happier, if you have issues I have dealt direct with GD they are awesome to work with very helpful my dealer General RV not worth a Dam they sell em don’t like to service them so deal with G D direct if you can they are great.

I am going to say this as kind as I can. Do the two of you have your beds in the sand? Do you seriously not know what is going on with Grand Design? I suggest you look up Liz Amazing and what she has disclosed and then look up The DUI guy and his interview called Greg Breaks his silence. There are several other channels talking about these broken frames and Grand Design is the last company you should trust. Sorry folks but you made a poor choice.

Respectfully, this is like saying Ford had a problem with the Explorer so don't buy a single Ford product. Don't over generalize to such a wild extent. Grand Design fifth wheels are made in a completely different facility from the Imagine XLS series with different frames. And this is as much a Lippert issue as it is Grand Design.

Hello Tonya and David. David, I am hopping that things are good for you. Thank you for this complet walkaround of the 22MLE. Like you, I have been doing my research and zooming in on either the 22MLE or the 23LDE Image XLS from Grand Design. I saw through you video, that you have a Ford pickup. I just changed my pickup for a F150 2023 Suprecrew Lariat with Max Tow package, 3.73 differential and the 5.0L V8 engine. Is your rig comparable to mine? I am preoccupied on the towing capacity of my pickup and I don't want to rely on an RV seller for this. Is your truck's Specs comparable to mine? How is your towing? I plan to buy a hitch distribution system like the Anderson distribution hitch, which acts both as weight distribution and anti-sway. any thoughts and/or suggestions will be welcomed. I don't want to make a mistake on my choices (expensive errors). What is your personnel take on the quality of your RV? Sorry, many questions here, but like I wrote, I don't want to make a mistake in my choice. Thank you and stay safe.

@@andrebeaule9457 hello Andre, Our truck is a 2020 F150 and does have the max tow package with 351 gears and the 3.5 liter ecoboost. Our truck is very close and yours is newer. It has no problem pulling this trailer and yours should have no problem at all. We think the quality is great so far and we have not had any issues yet. We use the Recurve R3 WDH with sway control and we really like it. We did make a video on this as well. We highly recommend this trailer. @@OutsidebySide Hello David, thanks for the reply and comments. I am leaning more at the Imagine XLS 23LDE rather than the 22MLE. At summer time (I live where there is snow in the winter), we like to bring our grand children camping, so a closed bedroom makes us a little more comfortable, plus sorry to say that I am at and age that I have to get up a few time during the night for the bathroom (you probably understand me 😉). So next spring, I am almost sure that the 23LDE will be behind my truck. In 2 years, when my wife will retire, we plan to cross Canada from est to west and come back via the US. Planning for around 3 months of travelling. Their is a slight difference in tung weight between the MLE and the LDE (30 lbs) and around 300lbs difference in UVW. I think that my truck should handled it comfortably. In regards to the weight distribution hitch, I am leaning towards the Anderson Weight Distribution Hitch. Looked at many videos and reviews and nothing comes up bad about it. One big advantage that seems to come up frequently is the weight (less) then the torsion bars systems, plus the anti-swing is incorporated into the ball itself. So less weight, less pieces in the system and very easy hook-up/un hook-up. Stay safe and again thanks.
@@andrebeaule9457 Another mod we made to help us but not necessary is the Road Master Active Suspension and Bilstein 5100 shocks that helps with squat and bounce. We love hearing you guys are making the Canada trip when your wife retires! Our dream trip is to head up the west coast to Canada & then to Alaska. Yes, I understand the many bathroom trips at night. lol. Also, either trailer maxed out at 7K lbs should still be way under your trucks maximum capacity. Just remember that payload & gross vehicle combined weight are the most important numbers. Thanks again and wishing y’all happy travels! 🤩
Any issue with critters or insects getting into the front pass-through storage via the hose?

@oldsalt8011 If I bought one I would add a 4×6 1/8" box beam across and in the frame above the axle, and 2x2 angle welded to the frame before the fact... when mine bent it also bowed inward.
I repaired mine using a auto body hydraulic kit and additional steel.
@@RealRocdad I have to agree with you 100%. The under carrage is the most important part of a trailer. If I could build one with double axles I would have it so that if one tire or axle failed the other could take the load with no trouble. They do look pretty flimsey.

When you upgraded the batteries to lithium, did you have to do anything else? Change a controller or converter?
@gregdrivingthoughts the converter has auto detect that automatically switches from lead acid to lithium. Also make sure your solar charge controller is switched to lithium as well. Thanks for watching! 🤩
Does your f150 have any issues towing your new RV? What size engine do you have in the Ford?

Very nice presentation and camper. I love the layout and features. The biggest short coming for me is the inside height. I'm 6'5" and that is the ceiling height. I just bought the Surveyor 202RBLE which is very similar but it has a 82: ceiling. Enjoy your trailer!

Hey there. We also bought the 202RBLE this past March and love it. My husband is 6’4” and we did a ton of research before buying. Forest River has just about the best ceiling heights in their couples trailer. Massage and heat in the theater seats? I would never leave the trailer. 😂

We looked this or a similar Imagine at a campground. My wife loved it. Our Gulfstream Cruiser is a 2024 model but it's a 19 ft single axle. We looked at the 23 ft dual axle version but it was heavier than I could tow. This TT is a possible upgrade in the future with a different TV. My only concern is having the entry door by the bed but it's not a deal breaker.
@Stanf954 We felt the same about the door at the bedroom but it’s not bad at all. Our last camper was the same. The Gulfstreams are nice! We have found the double axles make a huge difference when towing. Thanks for watching & happy camping to you guys! 🚌🪵
