OMG! Honestly, almost all the people who talk about journaling are boring, but you are hilarious! I watched the whole video and you are extremely fun to watch!!! Definitely subscribed!
I do this thing called morning pages. where every morning I write a minimum of 3 pages in my journal. I do 3 because by the end of the first page I'm really inside my head and I work out quite a few things. I usually do it when I first wake up too so I start the day with a fresh mind. thanks for this video I'm glad I'm not the only journal obsessed person around here :)
erin dillman when i first started journaling what's what i do too! but after a while i realise i'm not a morning person on school season and hates routine so i ended up writing whenever i want sometimes past my bedtime lol
I keep a journal and I try to update it a couple times a week. A lot of it is just stickers and rants, but I also talk about my life. I try to doodle in it but it's a mess XD I actually really enjoy it, but for some reason I randomly go through a long period of time without writing in one and I just end up buying a new journal. I need to learn to actually finish them! And looking back at old journals is so fun for me because I was really weird kid lol...you never know what you'll find in there..
I've been journaling since about 4th grade ('99) about my thoughts and what I did that day. I've also been scrapbooking since 2002. It's awesome to go back and look at everything. They are my prized possessions. :)
I love journaling so much! I mostly just use it as a therapeutic outlet, but I also love writing about random things I think of, dreams I have, and documenting big events in my life! I also make a lot of lists all the time in them.
For all those who don't always find the time but want to see their development over the years: There is an 'One line a day' journal which can be bought on the Internet. It's like a calendar over 5 years and it's got 5 boxes per day to write in, so after 5 years you can read one phrase of septembre 5th in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 e.g. It's great!
You make such a good point - the actual type of journal doesn't matter, just whatever makes you feel good.People seem to get so hung up on a certain type of journal or planner and all the stuff...but you don't need a special format. Reading back on the thoughts of your childhood and the years you are going through right now will indeed be so valuable in years to come. You are doing great, I hope you keep journaling in whatever way makes you feel good!
I started journaling again after a while and best believe it has helped me work on my mental health and its very fun and rewarding to look back at when you complete a note book.
OK. First of all, I have to tell you that you are so SPECIAL! And you're just a kid! I have got to follow you so that I can see how you turn out. You're talented. You're brilliant. You're a natural in front of the camera. You're sweet & caring. You're a shining star. It's 7 PM & this is the first time I've laughed all day. What am I talking about! This is the first time I've laughed out loud in days & days. Your video came up automatically because I was trying to find a good method of bullet journaling in order to be more organized - not your type of journaling at all. I went part-way through 5 or 6 videos before yours, & I was falling asleep in my chair. OMG, why are so many boring people, with nothing to say, who don't even know where to place their cameras, making videos??? And why are people watching them????? I am so happy that I found you, & I can't wait to see what you have to say next.
+WhittyNovels You're very welcome. You're a beautiful, multi-talented, young woman with the world at your feet. Keep up the good work. Follow your bliss (read/watch Joseph Campbell). BTW, if the desire is there for drawing, take a class, keep searching for a teacher who believes in you & encourages you; read, observe. You can do anything you want to do. Anything.
Amaze balls I started journaling when I was fifteen, and have not stopped since It really is therapeutic. I try to write every other day for at least fifteen minutes.
I envy the fact that you have all of your journals. I probably had 10 filled journals from Jr high and high school that I lost during a move and I would give so much to have them back. Thank you for sharing! 😊
+novelexperience Don't throw them away just stash them away in an allocated journal box. You will be happy looking back at them and seeing how much you have evolved. xx
I keep a journal since i was 10 and i have a collection of 15 journals! I have to say that it has helped me so much through the years. I organize my thoughts when i'm writing in my journal and tjen i feel so good, like i've talked to my best friend!
I have an idea for you~ It's not exactly my idea but..... I suggest you to record your dreams after you wake up. I find them very exciting to journal about so I thought you'd like it too.
+Jae Trinh I've been doing this for one year now (I'd say) and it's interesting which little thoughts of my day are integrated in my dreams. But I most like the dreams which aren't related at all to my daily life/thoughts/experiences.
WhittyNovels I read this book called a little bit of dreams and it tells u a way to interpret your dreams too!! even if you don't believe the spiritual things it says u can still get something out of it (:
I’m 13 and I’ve been journaling since the start of 2016 and I’ve completed 2 big chunky books so far and will hopefully continue to write journals till I’m older, if you’re ever stuck on what to write about here are some journal prompts - Journal prompts ✨☁️ * write about all the zodiac signs. What they are like, have you met any, what they are in your life (best friend, friend etc) * Pick a year, maybe a year you/ friend/family was born find our important things that happened that year. The top song that played on the radio, the movie that won at the Oscars, any notable inventions? * Draw a alternative world. Maybe it’s the same current world but some of the people have horns? Maybe it’s a world in a hour glass? * Are you superstitious? If yes write/draw about your biggest superstition if no, write/draw about one that interests you. * Write/draw about how you feel at 3am. - Hope you find these helpful! Always remember that you don’t need to write about something “important” journaling can be about just letting your emotions out or making something creative it’s really up to you because after all this is YOUR journal and you are in charge just think of it as your space where you can express yourself however you would like! - If you’ve wanted to start journaling but want inspiration or even if you already journal I really want you to watch sosonia’s video on the channel “soulpancake” about journaling. whenever I’m out of inspiration or just want a creative boost I watch her journal flip through and it gets my juices flowing! I was on Pinterest the other day when I came across a paragraph about journaling and it really inspired me to get back to journaling when I wasn’t really feeling it so here is the paragraph! - I tell everyone this and I mean it. Buy a journal. Carry it with you wherever you go. And I mean everywhere. Write about your favourite moments, your least favourite moments, ideas, grocery lists, people you’ve met, strangers you’ve walked pass on the street, favourite quotes, words to remember, what the sky looked like at 7pm, new songs you’ve discovered and what they mean to you, your childhood, places you want to go to or places you have been, how you feel in the exact moment, draw out the mountains, scribble over the pages and then when it gets full, buy a new one. Reread it in 2 years, 20 years, when you need a good laugh, when you’re crying on the bathroom floor, read it to your children. You need to remember these moments in you’re life. They are so important. - Hope you found all this helpful and remember, all you need is a pen and a journal 😌
This video made me grin from ear to ear! I did a journal keeper series on my channel where I showed all my journals and how they evolved as a grew up, I agree it's fascinating. My journals are being passed down to my kids, I have a shelf full of finished books.
Interesting that I came across this video. Yesterday I went through my old journals, and they were so entertaining. I mean, they're definitely sooo embarrassing and I would never share them, but I'd enjoy them when I'm older for sure
I've always been interested in doing this because I talk way to much so I've been writing everything down because I might as well be constructive with my thoughts. You have inspired me and given me more ideas for things to write about! I had no idea that journaling was more than just writing about your day! Thank you!!
I loved your video! I keep a journal too. I don't write in it as much as I would like to but you inspired to keep writing and perhaps search journaling topics as you suggested. I love it because it's a nice experience when you look back at what you have written. I keep two seperate journals; one is only happy thoughts and the other one is to write down my negatibe thoughts. I think writing in journals is therapeutic in expressing your negative emotions in a healthy way.
I'm so glad you made this! I've been journalling on and off since 2000 but haven't since my horrendous breakup a year ago. This has really inspired me to start again so thank you!
It was so cool to learn that you love journaling! I do as well. I've been keeping all different kinds of journals and notebooks for as long as I can remember. This video was so inspiring to me to get back into writing in my journals!
I used to keep a journal everyday through out middle and high school. Since graduating I've stopped. But when I had my son and put him up for adoption I've started another just for him and my emotions surrounding his adoption. He turned a year old this month and it's very therapeutic to write and go back and read what I've written. 💜💜🐳
my problem when journaling is that i hardly ever use the same notebook when journaling. I'll buy a new notebook, write on the first five pages, then toss it aside and buy a new one lol. I recently got a new hardcover journal that i've actually been loyal to, and it's the second hardcover i've used. i had one when i was 12-13 and every time i go back and look at it, im thoroughly entertained. I use my journals for diaries, song writing, and novel ideas. journaling is very fun to me, and i intend to get into it more.
This was such an interesting and unique video. I have been journaling sporadically since ~2007 on my computer. I just keep folders for each year and create word documents for each day. That works out really well for me because then I can go back and see how I was doing a year ago on that date. It's therapeutic because I can see how much I've grown and developed over time, as well as themes that have permeated my entries for years. When I was younger (age 8-14) I used to write in paper journals. I still have all those. They're painful to look at because I was going through hard times, but I'm glad I still have them.
I'm going to be starting college in the fall and I really want to start journaling! I used to journal when I was younger but I gave up on them but I really wished I had continue writing. Great video, Whitney! :)
I just stumbled across your video and I must say I love how you present yourself! I just bought a too expensive sketchbook journal and I have been struggling for days on what to put in it. Plus, I am guilty of looking around to be inspired by other people books and trying to figure out how I can make mine look like theirs. But, like you said, there is no need to do that and I'm going to stick to that! Thank you for taking the time to share your world with us and just so you know: My name is Whitney, too!
i wrote a journal of my senior year of high school wanted to stop after about three months but i pushed myself and finished at seven full notebooks so happy i did it
This was awesome to watch! I've only got one journal going and I try to only write down positive things to keep me motivated, what I did and things that make me happy like : what I'm reading (how much I've read), what I wore that day & jobs that I feel accomplished doing! Thanks so much for creating this video it really helped me a lot with my journalling :)
Try using two journals- one for stuff that's not so deep and you don't mind her possibly looking at and then keep another and hide it as well as you can and put more personal stuff there. Or you could get an app to write in that requires a password? Good luck!
Same :( im back from college and i started a completely blank one so if she ever sees it its only recent things and she cant really read anything prior to this 10 days
I always have these grand aspirations to journal and then I get lazy lol but I did keep a few when I was in 3rd and 4th grade and I've looked back since. Hopefully I can get back to how often I used to do them because it was wonderful seeing what I was like back then
I used to keep journals years ago, and i just stopped. You inspired me to start again! I'll try to start an artistic journal or something idk. Loved this video!
I love my journal. I write in it not everyday but when I need a place to let out my feeling and thoughts. Its very helpful. I only started journaling a lot since September 7th of 2014 but I love it! I love my journal even though it's not the happiest cause I have been going through some stuff right now but I'm still happy to write in it when I need to. I can't wait to see what my next adventure will be when I have to start a new journal. Its adventure that takes you so many places in you mind and is fun. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't start journaling. I loved this video. It should inspire more people to just pick a journal and write!
I loved this video. My ,,realtionship" to journals had always ups and downs. Sometimes I started a journal then I stopped after two days cause I just didn't feel like it. This video really motivates me to start jorunaling again, so thank you for your video. (I'm sorry if there are mistakes my first language isn't english)
I started writing a diary when I was 16/17, I was going through quite a tough time and felt like I had no-one to talk to so I thought it would be a good way to get my thoughts out. Writing really helped and now 6/7 years later, it is really great to be able to look back over what I was doing and what I thought. Apart from really helping at the time, I think it also puts things into perspective. If something is bothering you, you know you're probably going to think it was a silly thing to be annoyed/bothered about in the future. I still write in it now but not very often, although I would like to change that after seeing this video!
I'm turning 23 and a part of me regrets not keeping a journal even though I tried so many times. Another part of me is actually thankful because I was very self destructive and severely depressed , and reading through it now would most likely trigger me. Watching this video I realized there are many types of journaling that I could have done that wasn't necessarily exclusive to internal thoughts and emotions. The kind of journaling I regret not keeping is definitely the lists and prompts and fanfiction and art and video game ideas.. You've really encouraged me to go back and start over. I love how passionate you are here, it shows a part of your personality that you usually hide with sarcasm. I hope you get to where you wanna go in life because you really deserve it (even though at the beginning I didn't get it and considered you to be just another privileged white person who has been able to do so many things in life but was still being a privileged white person about it. I understand it a lot better now, especially from your tumblr)
You inspired me so much to start journaling! I'm immediately going out to buy one. I'm thinking of doing it in English (I'm German, btw) to make it better! Thank so much for this video!
I love your idea for having a journal to write down things you've learned. Im a high school student and I keep a journal where I write down everyday after school, what did I learn today? Sometimes I wrote down the title of each class I had then write down everything I learned in that class, like a summary. It's how I study because I go over my notes as a reminder and its really helpful since I started it I remember like everything I learn in school.
I used to journal quite a bit when I was younger but I always threw them away :/ Definitely going to pick it back up and keep it this time :D Thanks Whitney !
awesome video, I just began journaling a month ago for stress relief, I've gone through around 200 pages with pent up thoughts :P from where I am we aren't allowed to show emotions too much so this is like talking to a good friend. I'm so much calmer and collected. I'm getting into the bullet system for productivity and maybe get into some art. I like your style, you're very honest. kudos!
In the middle of this video I picked up the notebook that I have been sort of starting this summer and just started writing about my day and this was very inspirational and informative - and I am excited to be your newest subscriber yay thank you for making this!
I have a journal from 2008 is, and I wrote so much! I really want to get back into it, I just need to motivate myself to do it! I am always writing to do lists and find them littered all over the house, my mum got me a listogrophy book one year and I have just told myself to go and fill it out or at least start... I think I am always scared that I am going to ruin it... like wreck this journal and when I see everyone else beautiful journals and wish I could be that artistic but you are right don't compare your journal to others.
I always loved the thought of journaling and having something to look back on and connect with our past selves. Growing up I always kept a journal and talked about my day but I stopped mid high school. I am now entering my first year of college and I am so inspired about everything in life and I really have been looking into journaling again. Watching your video has inspired me to pick back up an interest of mine and to accept myself for how I am because I think a big reason why I stopped was because I really was comparing my journal heh heh.. Thank you for inspiring me
So Glad I just found your page!! I am an aspiring journalist and writing is my favorite thing to do. I do have some anxiety and writing is kind of my creative outlet that helps me which is kind of the same reason I love to read. Seeing how you said that your journaling helped with anger and anxiety kind of helped me know that I am not alone with the whole writing to relieve stress and stuff like that so thank you !!!!
Next time I go home I am going to raid my dad's office for All my old journals. I have a box of loose leaf from middle school and early highschool and then boxes of journals from age 9 to now. But I think I journal the same way I did when I was younger. I just like scribble down all my thoughts, like whatever I'm thinking, every word, peroidicly through the day.
OMG!!! This is your first video I've seen and you are me!!! I love writing and discovered around the same time. And I was also my classes random horse obsessed person. I hope to finish and publish something soon... Finishing being the hard part.
This was actually great inspiration and I want to go out and buy some journals now! I tried to journal once before when I was like 9/10 and I remember it being the most pathetic and embarrassing thing ever.
i was that one weird classmate who was obsessed with horses too ha i kept journals a lot - i think my first journal was written when i was in second grade. it was just a small collection of poems and stuff i've tried to keep an artsy journal but that didn't really work *awkward laugh* i wrote my first novel in a notebook when i was in fifth grade. it sucks but it's still nice to look at and see how my writing has improved since then. i haven't been journaling recently lately, which saddens me. [however, i have been writing fanfiction and considering doing nanowrimo this year] i'd been planning on getting back into journaling this summer, and this only inspired me more! this video is absolutely wonderful by the way! thank you!
I started a journal recently and it has basically everything in it. When I have a problem I write, when I have a good day I write, when I have a strange dream I write, I make lists. Everything. Pictures
there's no wrong way to journal! except when you vent and talk about problems but never give a solution, because it's unfinished work. It feels better to have a solution to your problems! Also, I think combining the types of journals into one is a nice idea! maybe, you could make sections for different types of journals. Section 1: Thoughts S2: Everyday explanation S3: Workout / Diet journal S4: Dream journal S5: Goals journal Etc.
I love all your different journals! I wrote this song about how I hate camping a couple of years ago called "I'm Over It"....then when I went on a nationwide house concert tour last month, I screenprinted moleskine journals with a tent, a couple of trees and the words I'm Over It....for those rants and thoughts that can't go into a typical gratitude journal. :o)
YAAAS! This video was exactly what I needed! I've been considering getting back into journaling so thank you girlie for reminding me of how fun and therapeutic it is!
Very inspiring video! I love your ideas and journals. I am planning to integrate journaling into my daily routine and eventually my blog. I just purchased a couple more regular composition books. One will hopefully become a planner and the other a chart book. I love making webs and flow charts with my ideas, it makes my blogging easier. So, thank you for enlightening me. I thought I might have been too much of a perfectionist for wanting to work on several journals at once. Its a relief knowing that I'm not alone!!
I have some of my journals from late middle school/early ninth grade. So much embarrassment! But it's also nice to see how my writing has improved. (And that I don't complain as much!)
i have been doing a lot of journalism, two weeks ago my best friend moved to Florida and i live in Texas so we live 981 miles away from each other. she was always the person i went to for advice or if i was having a bad day. we would spend everyday together so we could journal together. her move has been so hard and their is a lot of things that i cant do anymore because i cry or music that i cant listen to because it reminds me of her. we do a thing were at the end of everyday we would rant about are days and text it to each other. we talk on the phone at least once a day, we write letters to each other. lately i have been doing a lot o ranting in my phone.. my notes are filled with rant, after rant, after rant. i will write in my notes at least two or three times a day. lately i have been really wanting to start writing inside of a journal and write everyday but i don't know how i would.. my phone is always with me so its the easiest thing to get to.. i would really love to be a writer when i grow up. i want to take a journalism class when i get to high school. i feel as if i would be good at it. anyways.. how do you always remember to journal everyday?
I've already got a notebook and started writing in it by the time I finished watching xD I think this will be a nice thing to read in a few years. I've got a little art A6 notebook from an art shop half a year ago, but I haven't filled any pages in it cause I felt it was too pretty to ruin with doodles, so this is a perfect opportunity to fill it.
Thank you for this video. I used to journal a lot but the last 2 or so years, I haven't written anything. But I realised that I really do burden my friends and family a lot with the things that I'm going through. After watching your video, I realised I should just journal. Thank you. Liked and subscribed
Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience, I just decided that this next year (2016) I want to start journaling for the very first time in my life, and I enjoyed what you said and encouraged me to start...also I'm Mexican, so if you want to practice Spanish or know something feel free to ask. I'm happy to help if I can...
the funny thing is, I don't journal I have a diary. I don't quite get journalling. Or what people call journalling, because I always call it a diary. I always want to put on the cover of it MY BIG BOOK OF GRIEVANCES. Friends reference. Anyone? Anyone?
I just started a journal today to try and write about how I feel so I can start recovering from self harm, depression, and anxiety. It's blue with flowers on it and quite pretty and I got rainbow pens with it lol.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO. I have a lot of journals that I've kept since I was fourteen. I had more before then, but I think they were thrown away - we have moved a lot since then, I miss them, I wish every child to keep their most valued items like journals or a teddy bear because they're going to be upset later on. I needed that advice, thank you, I never write because I feel like nothing I write is interesting and stuff. I loved it. Also, with the art journalling - do it anyway. it doesn't matter if you're bad at art.
I love to write fiction, but I need to start journaling because when I'm older I want to look back and think, " Aw, Lauren was a crazy little weirdo." I feel like I will majorly fangirl and also talk about things in my day.
randomfreckles1831 you will be so so glad you did. just write all your thoughts and fangirling and in 10 years i promise you'll be like "omg who was i"
This inspired me a lot! thanks :D I have a couple of journals to but, most of the time I'm to busy with school aaarrgh....... I always try to write in them once a week because it's really relaxing for me lots of love from the Netherlands!
Before watching your videos, I had no idea that others kept journals. I' would discuss them with my friends and even some family members and they never really saw my passion for it. Recently, my life has been pretty constant and that resulted in empty journals. I even considered stopping. But to know that there are people out there who do the same thing and have the same thrive really made me want to journal way more often. So, thank you.
You transmit a lot of positivity and happiness!! I have only watch 34 seconds of the video and I already have a smile on my face. here's a new subscriber! :D hugs and kisses from Spain!
I loved your video! You were so on point! I used to keep a Journal until I was about 18 years old, and then I stopped because I thought that I had nothing else to say. Now, I'm trying to pick up that old habit back. The scary, and most beneficial, part (at least for me) is that you really have to be honest with yourself and ready to talk through pen and paper. It's not easy, but so worth it!
i have Dislexia and ADD and i have trouble keeping a journal because i don't really stay engaged in journaling because i can't spell a lot of things right. i also just don't think my life is interesting enough for me not to get board. So instead of killing the idea of journaling i decided to keep a dream journal and i can decorate it! also to me dreams are way more interesting because anything is possible. please leave a comment telling me what you think about my idea. Thanks
Hey! Of course I am not the creator of this video but I wanted to say, that as a young person you dont have to look for confirmation from others. If you think something is cool, if you like the idea, go for it!! You will never regret trying something. And dont give up on journaling! My friend has dyslexia and ADD too, but she keeps a journal and loves it. Go for it, have fun with it! Write about your day. My own journal isnt interesting to anyone else, its interesting to ME because its MY life and MY thoughts. Good luck!
Thank you so much! I decided to start a real journal other than dreams and its going great!! thanks for your advice about how i should just go for it! thank you again ;-)
+Girl Helper jounraling isn't for others it is for you! It's something people do not get to judge or see. So if you do not spell something right or announce to your book that you aren't perfect guess what it stays in the book! :} Have fun with it and don't worry what others could possibly think about it. They can only know that you have it if you show them!
I love this! I'm putting together a video on journaling and I'm making a list of videos to check out and you are on that list!! You're just lovely! Thank you for sharing!
Really liked this video :) I also have some journals that I never touched, because they felt too pretty to be tainted by my writing. This is primarily not because my handwriting is ugly, although it is not particularly nice looking. It is because after writing how I feel about something, looking at it kind of changes how I feel. So I put a lot markers akin to proofreading annotations and add/alter thoughts. The end result does not look pretty like it is seen on some videos. I sometimes also throw some of the pages away when the whole alteration process goes awry. It is for those reasons that I settled for loose white sheets that I collect in a folder. Some day I will have to have them bound. I suppose I am a guy, whose process is not fit for a hard bound embellished journal, who wants to journal anyway.
You inspire me as a person. Love your personality so much! Thanks for the advices, it really guided and helped me. Now I'm going to start journaling!! (; Much love from Singapore!
"I was that one weird classmate that was obsessed with horses" there is always one.
"The horse girl"! 😆
+Scout Strong I read this comment as she was saying that omg
Yeah......that's me 😂😂
+Shawne Marinn the horse girl club
I actually have one in my class wtf
Honestly, I wouldn't function properly without keeping a journal. It organises my thoughts and keeps me sane.

OMG! Honestly, almost all the people who talk about journaling are boring, but you are hilarious! I watched the whole video and you are extremely fun to watch!!! Definitely subscribed!
The Random Channel
The Random Channel yessssss!!
Actually kind of found her to be boring tbh
I do this thing called morning pages. where every morning I write a minimum of 3 pages in my journal. erin dillman when i first started journaling what's what i do too! but after a while i realise i'm not a morning person on school season and hates routine so i ended up writing whenever i want sometimes past my bedtime lol
+kaefitzmag same!!!
journaling makes a good speaker and you are
Thank you
i started journaling because of her and i missed watching her videos so i came back and watch this again ❤
I keep a journal and I try to update it a couple times a week. A lot of it is just stickers and rants, but I also talk about my life. I try to doodle in it but it's a mess XD
I actually really enjoy it, but for some reason I randomly go through a long period of time without writing in one and I just end up buying a new journal. I need to learn to actually finish them!
And looking back at old journals is so fun for me because I was really weird kid lol...you never know what you'll find in there..
maybe you can print and glue on your journal positive comments you get here on UA-cam
TheGabriel2002 Guys remember, we were here before both 1ook a 1million....
Snorlaxing Mepi ???
I've been journaling since about 4th grade ('99) about my thoughts and what I did that day. I've also been scrapbooking since 2002. It's awesome to go back and look at everything. They are my prized possessions. :)
I love journaling so much! I mostly just use it as a therapeutic outlet, but I also love writing about random things I think of, dreams I have, and documenting big events in my life! I also make a lot of lists all the time in them.

You have really beautiful eyes
bengalifob2 omg yeah she does
You make such a good point - the actual type of journal doesn't matter, just whatever makes you feel good.People seem to get so hung up on a certain type of journal or planner and all the stuff...but you don't need a special format. Reading back on the thoughts of your childhood and the years you are going through right now will indeed be so valuable in years to come. You are doing great, I hope you keep journaling in whatever way makes you feel good!
Thank you!
+Phyllis Coppolino This is probably my favorite comment i've ever received in 3 years of youtubing. Thank you so much for the kind words :')
Anything.
You're awesome!
Amaze balls
I started journaling when I was fifteen, and have not stopped since
It really is therapeutic. I try to write every other day for at least fifteen minutes.
I envy the fact that you have all of your journals. I probably had 10 filled journals from Jr high and high school that I lost during a move and I would give so much to have them back. Thank you for sharing! 😊
I keep throwing away my journals sighhhhh BUT THIS MAKES ME WANT TO KEEP EVERYTHING AND TRY HARDER
+Jae Trinh I've been meaning to make a dream journal!! I need to find a cool new journal with stars on it or something :)
I enjoyed your video. I have been journalling for years..since I was 10, it's nice to see other people loving the same things as I do.
I’m 13 and I’ve been journaling since the start of 2016 and I’ve completed 2 big chunky books so far and will hopefully continue to write journals till I’m older, if you’re ever stuck on what to write about here are some journal prompts
-
Journal prompts ✨☁️
* write about all the zodiac signs. What they are like, have you met any, what they are in your life (best friend, friend etc)
* Pick a year, maybe a year you/ friend/family was born find our important things that happened that year.
-
Hope you find these helpful!
Always remember that you don’t need to write about something “important” journaling can be about just letting your emotions out or making something creative it’s really up to you because after all this is YOUR journal and you are in charge just think of it as your space where you can express yourself however you would like!
-
If you’ve wanted to start journaling but want inspiration or even if you already journal I really want you to watch sosonia’s video on the channel “soulpancake” about journaling. whenever I’m out of inspiration or just want a creative boost I watch her journal flip through and it gets my juices flowing! I was on Pinterest the other day when I came across a paragraph about journaling and it really inspired me to get back to journaling when I wasn’t really feeling it so here is the paragraph!
-
I tell everyone this and I mean it.
-
Hope you found all this helpful and remember, all you need is a pen and a journal 😌
very helpful and inspiring, thanks.
This video made me grin from ear to ear! I did a journal keeper series on my channel where I showed all my journals and how they evolved as a grew up, I agree it's fascinating. My journals are being passed down to my kids, I have a shelf full of finished books.
TheLittleInk omg that's awesome. I must check out your videos!
niicolereads just wondering...have you gottem him back because on your videos theres a baby🙋🏼
•The raising of Jenny• You don't get your baby back if you put them up for adoption (:
You look so young to be a mother in your prof pic. Your beautiful 😍 hope everything is well with your son
It's funny that you say 'look out for me, NY Times best seller' - girl, you have a BOOK coming out, what IF?!
my problem when journaling is that i hardly ever use the same notebook when journaling.
You've inspired me to do a journal.
I definitely need things to get my thoughts out but also find things to keep in one place.
thank, Whitney!
I'm going to be starting college in the fall and I really want to start journaling! I used to journal when I was younger but I gave up on them but I really wished I had continue writing. Great video, Whitney! :)
sandyreadsalot good luck!! (:
I just stumbled across your video and I must say I love how you present yourself! I just bought a too expensive sketchbook journal and I have been struggling for days on what to put in it. Plus, I am guilty of looking around to be inspired by other people books and trying to figure out how I can make mine look like theirs. But, like you said, there is no need to do that and I'm going to stick to that! Thank you for taking the time to share your world with us and just so you know: My name is Whitney, too!
i wrote a journal of my senior year of high school wanted to stop after about three months but i pushed myself and finished at seven full notebooks so happy i did it
Thank you for sharing! I have recently started journaling again. My recent journal is all over the place
I wish I hadn't burnt all my teenage journals! Thanks for sharing. :)
This was awesome to watch! I've only got one journal going and I try to only write down positive things to keep me motivated, what I did and things that make me happy like : what I'm reading (how much I've read), what I wore that day & jobs that I feel accomplished doing!
Thanks so much for creating this video it really helped me a lot with my journalling :)
you said not to cross anything out. it's hard not to when you have an extremely nosy mom.
Try using two journals- one for stuff that's not so deep and you don't mind her possibly looking at and then keep another and hide it as well as you can and put more personal stuff there. Or you could get an app to write in that requires a password? Good luck!
+Spooky Jim josh dun is that you??????
or just find a really good hiding spot.
Same :( im back from college and i started a completely blank one so if she ever sees it its only recent things and she cant really read anything prior to this 10 days
I've got one of those, although at least she doesn't snoop
I hid it behind my books on my bookshelves although other places might be better
I always have these grand aspirations to journal and then I get lazy lol
but I did keep a few when I was in 3rd and 4th grade and I've looked back since. Hopefully I can get back to how often I used to do them because it was wonderful seeing what I was like back then
I used to keep journals years ago, and i just stopped. You inspired me to start again! I'll try to start an artistic journal or something idk. Loved this video!
Pauline Care do it do it do it!!! :)
Love this video! I'm going on 25 this year and my middle school/high school journals are priceless to me!
I LOVE your personality!!!!!
+DogAgLover thank you :D
I love journalling! I mostly just write about my day and my thoughts but I really want to start an 'artsy' kinda journal too!:D
I still write in it now but not very often, although I would like to change that after seeing this video!
i started journaling last month and you inspire me so much not to stop doing it (sorry if my english is bad, im portuguese :) )
Azza A thank you so much
You inspired me so much to start journaling!
***** aw man :( Start ASAP, though! :)
awesome video, I just began journaling a month ago for stress relief, I've gone through around 200 pages with pent up thoughts :P from where I am we aren't allowed to show emotions too much so this is like talking to a good friend.
I saved this video as my favorite and now I'm rewatching it!! You should do an update video on your journals! 😍
Thank you for inspiring me
I have a few journals, but I really wish I could find my diary and journals from when I was little. I miss them. 😢
This is like out of topic but like. You’re literally so pretty
I tried to journal once before when I was like 9/10 and I remember it being the most pathetic and embarrassing thing ever.
i was that one weird classmate who was obsessed with horses too ha
i kept journals a lot - i think my first journal was written when i was in second grade. it was just a small collection of poems and stuff
i've tried to keep an artsy journal but that didn't really work *awkward laugh*
i wrote my first novel in a notebook when i was in fifth grade. it sucks but it's still nice to look at and see how my writing has improved since then.
i haven't been journaling recently lately, which saddens me.
Everything. Pictures
I feel like I'm journaling wrong
there's no wrong way to journal! except when you vent and talk about problems but never give a solution, because it's unfinished work.
+SwaggyBling That way you don't have to go and buy so many journals and it isn't as confusing and pressuring!
SwaggyBling thank you! I might use that idea
Just wanna say, you have some of the prettiest eyes I have ever seen. Also, this makes me feel better about hoarding my notebooks 😂
YAAAS! This video was exactly what I needed! I've been considering getting back into journaling so thank you girlie for reminding me of how fun and therapeutic it is!
Aprilius Maximus APPRILLLL DO IT!!!!
You are the most inspirational person I have ever watched! Thank you!
Anyone? Anyone?
I love keeping Journals it's therapeutic, but most of the time I can't think of anything to write. Your video helps, thanks. :)
I just noticed the book on the shelf in the background,, I also have it, "the summer I turned pretty"
I just started a journal today to try and write about how I feel so I can start recovering from self harm, depression, and anxiety. It's blue with flowers on it and quite pretty and I got rainbow pens with it lol.
Congrats to you for that. Hopefully it will help you out. I think I will try the same thing, and get some of this mess out of my head. 😊
Abigail Jensen hey! all the best... keep going.. you'll go through it... May god bless you!! 😊
I love this video! I also have collection of journals starting from when I was 10 that I keep in a box under my dresser lol
LucieReads are they just as embarrassing as mine??? hahaha ;)
haha probably tbh
I love to write fiction, but I need to start journaling because when I'm older I want to look back and think, " Aw, Lauren was a crazy little weirdo." I feel like I will majorly fangirl and also talk about things in my day.
randomfreckles1831 you will be so so glad you did. just write all your thoughts and fangirling and in 10 years i promise you'll be like "omg who was i"
This inspired me a lot! thanks :D
I have a couple of journals to but, most of the time I'm to busy with school aaarrgh.......
I always try to write in them once a week because it's really relaxing for me
lots of love from the Netherlands!
I keep a journal right now but I haven't written in it for awhile but you're an inspiration and I really want to keep up with it!
You transmit a lot of positivity and happiness!! I have only watch 34 seconds of the video and I already have a smile on my face.
here's a new subscriber! :D
hugs and kisses from Spain!
I haven't written in my journal in so long. This has inspired me to start again. Great video Whitney!
I jeep a journal of my thoughts and such. I've been doing I for five years and have over thirty I think. I also have a journal I write letters in.
i have Dislexia and ADD and i have trouble keeping a journal because i don't really stay engaged in journaling because i can't spell a lot of things right. i also just don't think my life is interesting enough for me not to get board.
Girl Helper Nag don't worry... there are NO rules of journaling.
I love this! I'm putting together a video on journaling and I'm making a list of videos to check out and you are on that list!! You're just lovely! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much! If you wanna share that list, i'd love to check out others you have to recommend :)
Everytime i get out my journal, i always start from the top of your journaling playlist. It keeps me so motivated! Thank you!! xx
Thanks for a wondrous video --- my son bought me a gorgeous notebook: so gorgeous that I was frightened to use it....😕 subscribing!!!!!
I am also sorry for making some mindless remarks on some of your other videos. I did not really intend to troll you. I enjoy your videos a lot.
I started journaling because of you. THANK YOU. I am on my second journal now and ahh I love it
I wish I keep journal when I was young. I started journal in college. My English Comp book suggested it. I keep multiple journals too.
You inspire me as a person. Love your personality so much! Thanks for the advices, it really guided and helped me. Now I'm going to start journaling!! (;
Much love from Singapore!
