- ClevelandMoto gives an initial review of the brand new Kymco X-town!
This scooter represents a shift in the Kymco Scooter Marketing by offering a very high quality product like the the BMW C650GT and other bikes built by Kymco. This $3999 scooter has features only found on scooters over $6000 and could be just what the suffering American scooter market needs. - Авто та транспорт
A new maxi scooter with ABS, EFI, twin shocks, LED lighting and the KYMCO two year warranty and build reputation --- at $3999. ?? ABS was a $500 option on many scoots and bikes just a year ago. Kymco oversees the build in Taiwan and China - my 5 year old Chinese made Kymco has been a great scooter. With KYMCO, you can forget what you thought you knew about Chinese scooters!
Wow! Nice little review. You're talented. Keep on going!
Judging by your closing line, you must love litigation. ;-) Im a little older and past my motorcycle years, but I want to ride again, affordably. This and the Lance Cabo 200 and 125 are my three primary candidates. And thanks for pronouncing it cross town. You're the only one on youtube getting it right. Thanks for the great video. Be well.
Find a bike you can rent, one you really like, use Eagle Rider or Twisted Road and go out and have a great day. We love our bikes around here and we know we're taking chances every time we throw a leg over the machine. Have fun.
Nice review video of the Kymco hope you would upload the test ride of the scooter too in coming days.
It sold 2 days after we shot this video, when we get another one in we can do an on-bike review.
Hello. I have a 2010 Xciting 500Ri and think it's amazing! Completely trouble free. It is not a racing scoot, but a great get you there cruiser. BTW, my and all the Kymco that I have seen are made in Taiwan, not in mainland China, unless that is a new thing. Taiwanese scooters are very equal to, if not equal to in most cases to Japanese ones.
Anyway, nice informative video, and I am glad to see that Kymco has released such a sharp new bike. Thanks.
It's so weird that you don't get the LED indicators at the rear but at the front they give you the LED indicators on the rear view mirrors and not down on the body where you can still see the lenses. In Australia we get the LED indicator in the tail light cluster which are very bright. I'd love to have the LED indicators in the rear view mirrors because they look super bright as well. 🇦🇺
Hello from Kalamata Greece
I own the same scooter in special edition. It has metal covering in the feet thesis.
The flash lights are in different position
Very satisfied
How’s the leg for 5’9”! Is it cramped? 2016 honda forza 300 has a good leg room.
I realy thinking my next scooter will be a Kymco ,,,cause they made parts for many other brands like Honda.
Nice scooter. I'm planning replace my Downtown 300 for this.
Do the rear rack can accommodate a topcase without any accessories? I mean, only removing plastic cover.
Thanks in advance for your comment
Just got this baby in Fuji powder blue and it’s awesome. And this is a step down for me in speed and other things. I went form a ninja 750 to a more comfortable ride and I got that. Soon I’ll drop a lil radio in it and a trunk and it’s perfect. Great on the city and highway but the part that worries me is were they say you shouldn’t idle it or keep it at a steady speed to bring it up and down.
Do you care to elaborate on this please.
Yeah the X-Town 300 is more Accommodating than the Grad Vista , & the DownTown 300 Seating Space wise, but its a step back in the Power Department when Compared to the DownTown 300 . X-Town has a 278cc 24bhp Motor vs. The DownTown 298.9cc
28.5bhp .
Kymco also produces the Kawasaki scooter/bike in the EU. They have the contract for Kawasaki. Kawasaki will not bring their brand to the US market as Kymco owns that market.
This is a nice scooter. I checked one out at my local dealer recently. Unfortunately the riding position is so cramped for me I'd never be comfortable on it, and I'm only 5'9" with a 32" inseam. The seat forces me to sit so far forward I feel like a dog sitting up and begging. The rear passenger section is much longer, but I almost never carry a passenger. Almost every Japanese, Taiwanese or Chinese scooter I've ridden has been like that. When are the Asian makers going to start building scooters that fit normal sized American riders?
You said they've given more room in the passenger area, what do you mean? I love Kymco but even at 5'9 I feel cramped in the 250cc
The Back seat is 3" longer than on any previous Kymco 250cc.
I have a 2018 KYMCO X-TOWN 300i. The BRAKES ON MINE is ABS in the FRONT. Iwasnt aware of FRONT and REAR ABS, unless they changed it on 2019 models.
Kymco's own advertising says front ABS only. I don't know why this would be, since the little Like 150i has ABS on both wheels, but all the tests and reviews I've seen on the X-Town, including official Kymco specs, say front only.
Can anyone kindly give me a rough idea of the out the door price including taxes and other misc fees, going to my local dealer in Ny and wanna know if I’m overpaying. Thanks so much
MSRP plus Shipping (to the dealer), Assembly (Varies by dealer), Tax (varies by your state/county) and Title service/Temp Tag (also varies by state/dealer).
Does it loos freeways speeds with the 2 valve engine?
I don't see why not. I used to have a 260cc scooter and used to take the freeway with a motorcycle group and still be able to keep up well. Just use common sense.
I've had it up to around 92 mph. No problems.
4 valves does NOT mean more power! Only economy
Is it tubeless tires?
1. I wish he started the bike. 2. I wish he started with the seat down so we could see how it goes up (I hear it's very cheap and aggravating).
Just twist the key and the seat goes up. Pretty standard stuff. These bikes are EPA approved and very quiet. None of them sound "Great" especially not on video.
What's the top speed
I've had it up to around 93 mph.
These aren’t Chinese, they are Taiwanese
Check out "kymco xtown 300i USA" Facebook page to get more info. Thanks.
taiwan made is almost japanese qualities..
Holy shit your tall af
Just 6'1" - The bike makes anyone look tall.
It's made in Taiwan by free people, not China.
The X-Town is China, The AK550 is Taiwan.
China?......Kymco is in Taiwan.....right?....I think so....
Kymco has products from both China and Taiwan. Same as SYM and many others.
kymco is taiwan
Kymco is not china..is from TAIWAN !!
Some are from Taiwan, this one is from China.
IT IS NOT MADE IN CHINA!!!!!! FFS!.......TAIWAN !.........same quality as japan!
Kymco does have a lot of bikes made in Taiwan, but, unfortunately, this wonderful, capable and affordable bike is made in China.
@@ClevelandMoto 100% WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its made in TAIWAN ........do u have a brain problem? I own one of these" republic of china" is TAIWAN !!!!!! Do you own an encyclopedia? China is NOT a republic!
@@jimw7916 There's a big MADE IN CHINA sticker right on it. And it costs about 25% less than similar bikes in their range that are made in Taiwan. On top of that the VIN starts with an "L" L=CHina The AK550 starts with an "R" R= Taiwan. Check the VIN on your particular bike, then get back to me.
@@ClevelandMoto the bike is made in TAIWAN.....get it through your thick head!
It still ain't worth $3,500 way more better options out there.
I don't know where you're gonna buy one for $3500, they're $4999 this year. kymcousa.com/2021-scooters/2022-x-town-300i-abs/ It's a damn good bike.
Kymco is made in korea, not in china, better to know better ur products dude,
Kymco is NOT made in Korea, they are a Taiwan company who has productions facilities in many different places, their main manufacturing takes place in Taiwan and China. You'll find I've done extensive research into my products, I've visited the distributors and I've been carrying their products for over 17 years. But, you don't have to take my word for it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kymco
