I crashed my drone! DJI Mavic Pro Crashed During Attempt at Real Estate Drone Videography

Braving mosquitos and mad cows, I was able to capture spectacular drone footage of a barn and then . . . . my DJI Mavic Pro crashed into a tree branch.

You were looking down at the controller when the crash occurred. You have to basically keep your head on a swivel between looking at the drone and the footage you are capturing on the display. Personally I would stop the drone while looking at the display.

Survey where you are going to shoot your video first. Be aware of obstacles that could give you obvious problems. Be patient in scouting and surveying where you are going to fly. Always keep your drone in line of site . If you can't judge if and obstacle is to close to your drone stop and walk to see how close the drone is to the obstacle or just retrace where you flew in from with the drone. In this case that would be moving forward since you flew backwards into the obstacle.
