I love that line, "I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!"
Yeaahh 😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸
BEST LYRICAL LINE EVER IN A ROCK SONG!!! SO BADDASS
Same, but "a loaded six-string on my back"
Best part 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's my favorite line!!!♥️🌹💖💕
I think this song is just about the touring process, about how it gets overwhelming at times, but at the same time you have to appreciate it all because you never know when it ends.
It reminds me of turn the page. Touring hell.
It is.
nailed it.
Bon Jovi NEVER had to worry about being a 1 hit wonder- 😉 💛✌️
Except before 1986
"I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all" One of the best lines in music ever written!
I have a 6 year old grandson who was shaken by his father at 9 weeks old. He has a lot of disabilities. When he gets fussy, my daughter (his mama) & I can sing this song & it calms down & listens. I am positive that this is probably his favorite song, period. Every time I hear this song now, I think of my love bug, Charlie.
Pamela Scott prayers for Charlie
Shawney32123 thank you so much . We appreciate prayers for him.
My god! Slippery When Wet was the first cassette....yes cassette I bought. I still have it! 😉✌❤🍻
hold on to that relic
@@daviddrouant2852 hell yes lol
Lol..I had the record! My grandfather bought it for me
@@mebefore9103 do you still have it? Holy crap that's cool. 👍👍✌

Bon Jovi was tops in the 80's. Women loved Jon and still do. They had some great songs.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
I think the first line "It's all the same. Only the names will change", is in reference to the different city names that change.
This is one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs. "Living on a prayer" is an anthem song DJ's still use in their music mix today. They are definitely worth investment to listen to. I grew up with this.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
He was reflecting how his life was like an outlaw back in the old West .
Always on the run .
They used to put up posters of men “wanted ... dead or alive ... “
He's still doing shows after 40 years. They are an amazing group live.
They had actually recorded two albums prior, but "Slippery When Wet" was definitely their breakout one. "Livin' On a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name" are a couple more great songs from it.
Jon Bon Jovi does a great job on vocals, and Richie Sambora kills it with his guitar. Sambora unfortunately left the group a few years ago, but he still accomplished quite a bit with the group.
And "Never Say Goodbye"
It was a band effort but....Jon Bon Jovi was the head of that band and his co lyricist was his guitar player, Ritchie Sambora.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
If you haven't heard Living on a prayer or you give love a bad name, you should.
One of the greatest guitar solos ever,
I'm happy that you finally got around to hearing this classic. ✌
pretty simple guitar solo, but youve gotta love those squealing pinch harmonics
@@DaveWhoa yeah pretty simple but very powerful and hard to copy
@@jonathanong4538 pretty much sums up Richie's solos. Simple but powerful and fun to play.
My favorite Bon Jovi song. The trials and struggles of touring life. No joke for sure. You got it right. Sacrifice.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
The irony of a bunch of guys from Sayerville,New Jersey singing about being cowboys.
The song isnt about being cowboys. Its about touring and being on the road
It was also used in the cowboy movie, young guns soundtrack
@@jarrapara8596 your thinking of blaze of glory
@@daneosborn3476 wanted dead or alive was also in the soundtrack
The song's title pays homage to Jon's admiration for Old West heroes, and how he identifies with them as being hated and loved at the same time ("wanted dead or alive", so to speak). During an interview on Inside the Actors Studio, Jon said he got the inspiration for the song early one morning when he could not sleep while riding in a tour bus. The "lifestyle of every rock band" was similar to that of outlaws in that each was, "a young band of thieves, riding into town, stealing the money, the girls, and the booze before the sun came up.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
I am so happy you found Jon Bon Jovi. When this song came out, I was a run away. Living on the streets. Hiding from an abusive step mother, and a father, who denied me. I felt "wanted. Dead or alive" This was my song. "its all the same. Only the names will change. everyday, seems we wasted away. I KNOW THE PLACE WHERE THE FACES ARE SO COLD! I WOULD TRAVEL ALL NIGHT TO GET BACK HOME! (my grandmas. where I was LOVED!) ANd I listened to it on my walk man everyday! lol The whole record, is full of great songs. But this one was my theme song!
Seen them 5 times in concert at a sold out 100,000 seat stadium. Imagine all those people singing so loud you can’t even hear Jon Bon on the 🎤. Richie and Jon Bon are THE ORIGINAL ROCK COWBOYS👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This song was a mega hit you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing this song and it was in the sound track for Young Guns
Yeah that’s true! Followed by ‘more than a feeling’ from Boston then sweet home Alabama! Those were the good old days.
Blaze of Glory was from Young Guns 2. This song was in neither movie. ✌️
You're thinking of Blaze of Glory from Young Guns 2...this song wasn't in either soundtrack..
Great movie!!🥰
this song was in harley davidson and the marlboro man
Yes, Jon was hot BUT Richie was yummy as hell in that hat!
Jon is such a stand up guy...still married to his high school sweatheart, love it.
Richie was dreamy
In my opinion Richie is also a better singer than Jon 😎🎸
❤️❤️❤️
@@bigbow62 The real reason Jon booted Richie out of the group. heh heh
Love me some Richie!! 💋🔥🔥
More fun facts? 😁
This song was written when the guys still lived at home. This one, at Richies house. This and living on a prayer came together quite quickly.
The recording process, not so much.....
They kept doing take after take and couldn't get the vibe they were looking for. They decided to take a break, and hit the streets of Vancouver, where they were recording. Being the gentlemans club Capitol of Canada at the time, they hit some up, grabbed some drinks, and got their buzzes on.
When they returned to the studio fueled by their alcohol induced emotions, the very. first. take. was what they were looking for. That is what we are listening to here. 🤘🤘
Still one of those lines I'll always remember because it encapsulates the whole grind he's gone through...... "and I ROCKED them all."
My son is 19 years old now and he knows the hell out of this song seeing that he played the hell out this song on Rock Band as he was growing up.

The " Steel Horse " is his tour bus...
Are you sure? I always thought a Steel horse is a motorcycle.
@@jacksprat418-ju5qo this is true steel horse always been motorcycle... And ride is generally horse or two wheels....BUT you have a bus ride !... I'm interested to know myself 👍
@@jacksprat418-ju5qo He talked to Howard Stern about it a while back. He got the reference from his bike but said it fit the bus for this song...
@@Robert-vc3hr Thanks for the info!
@@Robert-vc3hr that's brilliant thanks for sharing the knowledge !✌️🇬🇧
Bon Jovi was and still is one of the biggest bands of all time. A steele hoarse can be a bike or a plane. They are certainly not hurting for money, this song is about the cost of bringing their music to millions and the toll it takes....
I love your breakdowns of these songs. You get them .
Jon bon Jovi is such a good man, he owns the soul kitchen who helps out people in trouble and you pay what you can afford he's also helped build houses
My favorite Bon Jovi song, and my daughter Jordan's first requested album----she was 5. She & the little neighbor girls used to sing "You give love a bad name" in the back yard". We called them the Bon Jovi Pre-Pubescent Memorial Choir. It was hilarious to hear their little, girly voices shouting, "shot thru the heart, and you're to blame, honey, you give love (pause) a BAD Name." Our little girl group is so grown up now. My two are 36 and 37. Whew. Anyway, your interpretation of the song is right on the money. Life on the road is brutal. Especially for people with families. Jon Bon Jovi has been married for 31 years to Dorothea, who teaches karate and runs her own karate school. They have 4 kids, and I've never heard a single rumor of infidelity there. Good people.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
This is a song about being on the road and touring. I remember Jon saying that after all those years of the "Slippery When Wet" tour was over, they were so burned out that they all took different directions back home. No goodbyes, just walking away. I was in high school when this came out. I remember being on my way back from the county technical school on the bus. It was our theme song for being overworked, under-rested, and living the life of a teen. Hahaha!! What we didn't know back then!
we were all just so young when this was new
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
Bon Jovi's, song "Dead or Alive" was from the movie Young Guns 2. Emilio Estevez requested this song as the theme song for his up coming Billy the Kid sequel, but Jon Bon Jovi ended up composing an all-new theme song for the soundtrack instead. Also on the album was, "Blaze of Glory" which was featured in '"Young Guns 2"
This should be the anthem for every artist. This describes how they feel to make us happy.
ua-cam.com/video/_fz8YL6ynP4/v-deo.html
I like how she breaks it down for you.
But I that she takes the time to listen to the music to.
"Sometimes you tell the day by the bottle that you drink" One of the coldest lines ever
At the height of their popularity, Bon Jovi, played 300 concerts a year. Think about that. 300 shows a year. This video shows how the touring process is EXHAUSTING. A great line in the song is "I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back". Fame is fleeting and even the best groups never know when it will end. This video shows how much touring takes it out of everyone on their tour. Great, GREAT song!!!!!
No wonder Jon's voice is pretty blown out these days. 300 concerts a year means basically every weekday and 30 (of 52) weekends playing.
Bon Jovi was my first Stadium Rock concert! I was 13 years old and Skid Row opened up for them. My mom waited in line for hours for the tickets for us. (my older sister and our 2 teenage cousins) Imagine 4 girls from 13-19 yrs old in our ripped acid washed jeans and black concert tees. Mom hooked us up too - we had 3rd row seats. It remains one of the best music memories I have. So good!
They had a number 1 album and was so busy touring that they didn't even know it.
I was a teenager when this came out... They hit it big pretty fast, and this was about the life of touring... They ride a tour bus (steel horse) from city to city and no matter how tired they are, or if they are sick or not they are expected to perform because its another show. They get homesick, deal with their demons such as alcohol and such.. This song is all about the struggle of being on the road touring.. and the demands that puts on the band as people... It was a very touching song when it came out, because there were so many bands that were feeling the same way.. it honestly changed the view us fans had on the bands.. made us realize how much they sacrifice to provide us the awesome show we got.. very humbling song from an artists point of view.
Ahh thanks India!❤️👍 I’m 56 years old I remember when he first started singing I had a HUGE crush! Still do!😂😂Thanks for sharing! Made my night!! Love ya girl!
"Steel Horse" is also slang for a motorcycle. 😁
Nope.. Steel horse is the tour bus. Everything else is in reference to being a rockstar they are not riding motor cycles to their gigs.
@@carriechilders4416 The topic is "steel horse".
Steel horse in this song is his tour bus
Clarence McGraw thought that was an iron horse 🐴..or is that a train 🚂🤔
I know what you're saying because everytime I hear this song I do want to buy a motorcycle.
The lead singer is Jon Bon Jovi and the name of the band is Bon Jovi.Richie Sambora, the lead guitar player and second singer was once married to Heather Locklear, the actress.
The steel horse refers to the planes and limos they take to shows. He said he would drive all night to get back home because they get tired of staying in different cities, away from their loved ones. The song came out when they were huge so it's about how exhausting physically and emotionally touring can be. Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer. He once said they would tour for years without a break and it takes it's toll.
this girl ...took my heart ... left me in the dirt . i am going to go to AZ now ... im gonna play some blues . this girl got me trippin. she is amazin. i cant even .
One of the greatest songs to come out of the 80’s.
hands down, definitely one of the greatest :)
to me, they were the last great band. Shortly after, grunge came along and killed the entire genre.
I love that you do this. When its songs like this, that were my teenage years, it's like you help me remember alot of good times and good people that were in my life.
Damn this song reminds of Heather Lockyer .Most people know what I’m talking about
@Wayfarer She was also married to Richie Sambora for quite some time after divorcing Tommy.
The song is about touring life. The steel horse is plane, tour bus, car I’ve been a die hard Bon Jovi fan since Runaway went National!
truck drivers and bikers used to love this song lol

They have so many songs that are anthems. Love their music.
Listen to Bounce, one Wild Night, Dry County, We weren't born to follow, Have a Nice day, It's my life.
Steel horse is tour bus. It’s all the same. The faces are so cold...the fans. They just want him..dead or alive. He rocked them all.

LOVE this and sooo many Bon Jovi songs, as well as Whitesnake- posters all over our ceilings and walls of them back in the day! HIS name is JON Bon Jovi- The band is called Bon Jovi-😉. ❤️💟💟☮️✌️
i’m pretty sure he’s my number one crush from all old school rock bands. so fire not mention talented 😭😭 wish they still made men like this🥴
I grew up on this band, but every time I hear this song now all I can think is, “Deadliest Catch” is coming on! Lol
There are three other songs/music videos about "life on the road" that you might want to react to. One of them is for the song (no music video), "Turn The Page", by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. Another is for the music video for "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock And Roll)", by AC/DC, when Bon Scott was the lead vocalist. The third one is for the 1970s music video (then known as promotional film clips) for "We're An American Band", by Grand Funk Railroad (aka "Grand Funk").
You should have mentioned he’s comparing a western cowboy or gunslinger life with being a rockstar That’s what makes this song so great. The western sound of the acoustic guitar, and sounds.
❤️❤️love this .. This is one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs..
I have been friends and have even travelled a bit with touring musicians who are on the road 200-300 days a year. This song and video is a great look into that world.
Life on the road, performing night after night for months at a time can get lonely and overwhelming. Great song and great arrangement.
Just saw this and had to comment. Back when this song came out Jon Bon Jovi said the song was about touring and how ardous it is. It's exhausting when you're touring for a full year straight non stop not being able to see your family or friends. And the line the people you meet always go their separate ways was about the people he'd meet every night, the fans.
Love me some Bon Jovi......
i am amazed by this woman. MUCH LOVE .
Blaze of Glory that he wrote for the movie Young Guns II.
But, ALL their stuff is good.
Amazingly talented!
Great interpretation of the song. The steel horse is meant to symbolize a motorcycle. A loaded 6 string on my back... Such great imagery in the lyrics

Yes! Richie has an amazing voice too! I love that version!
Jon Bon Jovi did an interview talking about the song. He said when you watch the video and listen to the Lyrics it’s describing the band at that point in their careers. They almost broke up at that point. He said they were fighting so bad they each had to have a bodyguard to keep them separated from one another because all they wanted to do is fight each other at that point, due to the stresses and pressures of touring constantly. Best Wishes 💐
I absolutely love this song & can't go wrong with Bon Jovi I grew up listening to them the harmonies between Jon & Ritchie absolutely amazing
Your analysis is mostly correct. The whole theme of this song is about the rough life they face on the road. Every day it seems I'm wasting away is just talking about how every day out on the road takes another little piece out of them. Touring is a grueling thing. Days out on the road interspersed with a couple of hours of sheer work and exhilaration every night, that's tough. And most people don't realize but performing a show is HARD work. You're basically putting everything in your soul out on the stage. You come off that stage sweating buckets because of the lights and the movement and the physicality of the performance. It's like running a marathon. And the in between is just hours of boredom.
India your analysis on the song was dead on. Well done, again. Your the best.
Always come back to the best reactor, little India! Keep it up!
Nice! I think you're a hair band fan! So far you like this Whitesnake and Motley Crue. I knew from the start you were awesome LOL
I was in high school when this album came out and my whole world changed. Went from weird kid to acid washed jeans, big hair, hats, and ankle boots. Bon Jovi was such an influence and they have a permanent place on my playlists.

Steele Horse ... is a tour bus. Touring is a new city every day. Different faces places and liquor. I remember they first toured like that for over a year. When the tour was done, five friends left in five different directions. The stress exhausted them and ... they wanted to get as far away from each other as they could.
