The ending really is the best.. it's easy to forgot the struggle of a DPS with near instant que-times as my SCH. XD
So true, i remember struggling with queues soo much when I used to play by myself !
The video is shorter than my average DPS queue time :/.
And then it resets after 45 seconds because someone didn't Accept, 7/10 times it's a DPS. When that happens to me, I like to visualize that scene from Taken: "I don't know who you are, but I WILL find you, and I WILL kill you."
I actually do the same thing when I wonder who was in charge of designing the game play loop for Eureka.

No joke, this video made me remember to use my ranged attack as DRG while avoiding AOEs.
@@muffetmissulena6540 to be fair, I understand why people do not want to break their combo.
The good news is, in Endwalker, you can now use your ranged attacks without breaking your combo!!!!
Now people really have no excuse not to use them. Of course, a grace period to adjust to this will be needed, but this is a great addition.

Every time the Que fails because 1 DPS missed que i scream "YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!"
I always imagine them walking away from their pc for 3 seconds and then they pop, has happened to me too many times!

Yes my job is to queue in stuff wait til it pops and withdraw at the last possible moment for you to feel pain. And if I get a penalty, I wait it out and do it again 30 minutes later.

I’ve had a tank get mad at me for getting my buffs up as samurai before aoeing. On the other side I’ve seen a double digit number of dancers in all forms of casual group/alliance content who don’t use technical step.
Come endwalker we can just straight AoE and get the buff XD
I've been there, and I had to genuinely ask him if he has ever touched samurai
ok so...to be fair...since technical step has a bigger cooldown and is FOUR buttons to hit (with cooldowns too even if they're mudra speeds) that's so much less damage i'm doing at the moment my brain sometimes refuses to remember i have Technical Step.
Also i'm STILL not used to it being such a short duration and it stacking with Standard...
As a DPS main, this video is exceptional.

That queue pop joke was so inaccurate... There's no way it only took 6 minutes to pop
Must have been queuing for Main Scenario Roulette.
Deliberum Reginae really stepped my game up.
If you get hit by 2-3 avoidable AOE's, you get "Doomed" and killed in 3 secs.
Not only that but whenever you get killed, you lose SO MUCH mettle (Bozjan Exp).
If you hit "Return to Starting Point", then you'll lose a CRAP-TON of mettle.
So in conclusion.
Do Not GET HIT. If you die, you better hope you were nice to your healers and rez mages!!!!
You don't loss a lot of mettle though.
It only becomes slighty noticable if you release, but if you are ressed it is a non-issue.
Zadnor gives so much mettle.
@@Elidan1012 That's after unlocking Zadnor though. Most people who haven't gotten to unlocking Zadnor because they died in Bozja or DR can't recoup that mettle yet, which could definitely delay their progress into getting into Zadnor.
Plus, the higher rank you are, the more punishing death is, technically speaking. It's still rough to die and then lose all that mettle if you ever plan on maxing out your ray of valor/fortitude/succor stacks for DRS or just speed up DR for relics. lol
I found Bardam's Mettle a pretty great place to practice dodging Mechanics. The first boss is literally just a dodge mechanics gauntlet.
People look at the OGCDs and see cooldowns like 30 seconds, 60 seconds but they should also be reminded that the regular global cooldown between skills is 2.5 seconds. So just doing a 3-button combo on repeat takes 7.5 seconds for every combo
the thing about button smashing is:
the game registr and holds a button presh for a few miliseconds
if the circle is like at like 7/8 finished, you can press the button and the game will then act like you press it at the moment it was avaible again.
helps a bit to cast other stuff as well
That whole part about not only making the healer do less dps cause they're healing you resonates so deeply with me.
pressing the wrong button once really punished my as i did it 2's in a row on Eden today.. 1st as a GNB i exidentally shot myself.. then i exidentally pressed the LB and stole it from the healers as halve the group was already down.. when we restarted i just deleted those 2 buttons of my hotbars and on to the side. >

Been having that problem with my Ninja this week, servers seem to be lagging a bit and my mudras keep lagging which really kills my combo and output for the next 60 seconds.
DPS not doing AOE on trash mobs is one of the most annoying things out there if your the healer or tank.
To be fair I was in Sohm Kai once and while I don't run Ninja I assumed what the ninja did was put down was an AOE so I dragged the mob into it. Their reply was literally 'huh never had a tank drag the mob INTO my AOE before.'
I think sometimes its just the lack of communication, DPS assume the tank is going to go one or two mobs at a time so they put down their AOEs and the Tank keeps pulling.. and pulling and Oh Hi wall...
@@LadyLunarPhoenix oh yeah i personally am not the biggest fan of wall-to-wall pulling (which is why i've only ever done dungeon runs as a tank with at least one friend with me) but when i play NIN i just wait till i KNOW the tank is done before dropping my Doton cause i already expect them not to wait.
and then when they die i reflexively try to keep the damn healer alive rather than running away...
@@LadyLunarPhoenix and it can happen between healers and tanks as well. Since we have had an influx in new players I like to ask both my healers and DPS if I'm tanking if they want room wide pulls from beginning to end, if they can handle it and often times even with veterans I have found healers and DPS that feel nice to be asked that. Once I had a healer that literally thanked me for asking because he was having a rough day and he wanted to take the dungeon slow to hear the music and the DPS agreed with him so we took it slow.
Sometimes is easy to forget that communication is key for good teamwork even if dungeons are easy. Also when I heal first thing that comes out of my mouth is that "I like reckless tank behaviour" meaning tanks can go crazy and it still surprises me how happy and giddy some tanks can get when they are allowed to go crazy. I remember once in a dungeon this dude asked me if I wanted to raid with their FC since they didn't have good healers and we found out that on Emerald weapon EX if 1 tank and the healers know what they need to do you can get a dps to be a semi tank and have 5 DPS for easy clearing even the thé iLvL wasn't that high at the time. Talking is nice and people appreciate it.

@@gwagner1380 same. I was healing in a run of LotAs once and we had a tank that DCed during the 3 demon keep apart section. Called out the alert to the other two parties, we cordinated right there for each one other teams give up a DPS to go help keep the aggro for the tankless party. Then we healers spread out so we could look after our now detached DPS and the rest of our groups. Respectful Communication makes the dream work!

Yeah as a dps I always say hello and thankyou, I know it can help me get comms. Explains why I get the comms when I mess up alot sometimes too. But I never give up and get back up and try.
Got 3 comms in the newest dungeon 1st run and I died on the second boss, however the 3rd boss the healer died and me and the tank kept going for a while. I think people can tell I lag sometimes and especially this week, seems to be a server overload. Only fights I struggle with are the 24 man raids tbh, died like 7 times lol said to myself I better not get any comms I don't deserve them and I didn't
When I played tank I didn't realize for a veru long time that one of my skills would slow all the mobs I pulled...whoops

From my experience- being alt tabbed in YT or another site because the queue was taking eons for you too and you end up missing the queue pop sound.

Just was in a 80 Dungeon "Spoiler Gauntlet Spoiler" And as a WHM dealt as much DPS and both Reapers together. They didnt know they had AOE. AT LVL 80. Like how casual and basic do you have to be to not know the skills at 80. I just want to tells those people to go back to Limsa and stay there for their ERP Shit.

Imo, duty f8nding as a DPS takes longer than tank and healer. Heck, healer takes a very very short wait
You say healers have to wait o_O. My total wait time with healers (2 between lvl 35 and 40) is 0 seconds.

See, i have been playing healer for a very long time and even i get disheartened when a DPS falls to the same mechanic a 4th time in a row, tho i never says that the the party would be be better off, i do feel it after burning 250% of my mana, on this dumb'ass that cant DODGE!!!.'

There are times when one has to simply accept that being selfish is essential to a healer :p if someone dies THAT much i will not rezz them unless my instant is up, if it isnt.... enjoy scrubbing the floor for a bit, i am busy with Broil...
Thats fair, but remember some people lag and move in time on their screen but still get hit. But 4 times in a row to the same thing, thats easy to predict to move. I also try and use my second wind and bloodbath if I get caught and its my fault, just to help the healer a bit. But your job is to heal

When I heal and a DPS dies I do two things. 1st, is there a RDM and 2nd, is swift cast off CD? If the 1st is true, politely ask them to raise the dead person, I've got Glares/Broils/Malefics to cast. If no RDM and Swiftcast is up, ask the other healer to do it, I can use swift cast to do more DPS. The only exception to this is if we need everyone alive in order to not die to the next mechanic, even then I think about it.
Joking aside, the ending was good.
It's called a Crap guide ..because the creator is JoCrap..it's like saying Jane's guide because of the name Sarah Jane.

"I always read." Sure, in a "Reaction" video, you read your chat more than you should, because JoCat is like the Final Fantasy XIV Trailers, and has a lot of memes so crammed into their videos they go fast enough to make Sonic look like a turtle.
This video is what made me quit the game, TBF. There is just so much performance anxiety as it is... and I'm already scared I'm not doing things right... but this just adds a lot of extra pressure... and calling it a joke doesn't really solve that.
