    I don't really understand whether I would have to use my phone to turn lights on and off. Can I just set all the lights to my favourite colour and brightness, and then just flip the switches like I've done my whole life when I want 'em on or off? Or will turning the lights off with the switch reset the bulbs or something?

      @SeanJ2A Місяць тому

      The main switch would reset the lights and take them out of sync with the app. Phillips hue makes a switch (battery powered) that you place next the regular one, it keeps everything in sync with your colors and brightness.

    Wish you could group more than one light together. GE allows you to do this

    Can you sync lights to Apple Music?

    • @jaafersa

      Unfortunately no, but you can sync them to your TV or monitor using HDMI. It requires one of their accessories but it seems to work pretty well.

    Can you switch your lights on and off remotely, say when you're on your way home, or even when abroad?

    I also have this setup, but how is it possible that I can control all my lights in the app with my mobiledata on and WiFi/Bluethoot off?

    Can everyone at home control the lights in their own phones or is it just one person in control?

      Anyone that you invite to the app can.

    I don't like the design of these light bulbs, unless they're used in a floor lamp under a lamp shade. So that you can't see them.

    do hue lights work on 5htz wifi when using the hue bridge?

    • @morzee94
      @morzee94 Місяць тому

      The hue bridge doesn’t use WiFi to connect to the lights. It creates a ZigBee mesh network to connect to all the lights. That’s why you need the Ethernet connection to the router so that your device can send the commands to the router through WiFi and it can then send it to the lights via ZigBee. In my experience, this makes the lights much more reliable than the competition that uses WiFi, which is more susceptible to interference and range issues.

      @@morzee94 maybe I'm not asking the right terminology, I had a hue bridge and hue lights (bought in like 2021), when we switched to fast broadband (5htz) they stopped working with the bridge, I was told it was because the lights/ bridge (whatever) don't work on 5htz. All I'm really asking is if i buy another hue bridge will the hue lights work when I use then with the hue bridge plugged in to the wall socket that claims to be now super-fast🥲

    I recently bought philips hue, but one of the 2 bulbs that came in the package becomes inaccessible by itself. I reset the bridge and tried again. It comes on once in a while and turns off after 10 seconds. What could be the reason? By the way, when the bulb goes out, it is also inaccessible through the app.

      Did you resolve this? I have two strips on the ceiling but the controller is close to the TV. When i've noticed when i start streaming a movie to the TV I have this issue and assume it's the signal to the TV "blocking" the signal to the hue strip.

    It went all good so long bridge was added, and then it asked for updates, and went in "preparing (1/2)" where it was over 2h before I went crazy and turned it off.
    Hue Essentials app did connect bridge and it all works well, but it cand to updates.
    So...how can one appreciate Philips Hue, when it is peace of 💩 from the first experience!?

    Why would I get another hub just for lights?

      Because it does way more than lights and is really reliable.
