After stressing over the zipper doing this for the past week I finally found something that can get his bag to last until the end of the school year! 🎉 thank you a million!!
The cast metal zippers still yield a bit under force - that is usually how the gap opened up in the first place - it is rarely actual wear. Just to needs to be done carefully and don't overdo it.
Utile anche il wd40 ,svitol. Un vecchio trucco è quello di avere sempre un dito sotto la cerniera in modo che non si ingrippi col tessuto altrimenti sono guai.

1.) Toss broken bag in garbage. Zipper tab is made if cheap Chinese pot metal which will crack when you squezze it with pliers. 2.) Purchase a bag with all metal teeth in the zipper (Think Carhartt style construction) Summary: mildly repaired crap is still crap.

Ah, passar o grafite do lapis número dois em qualquer ziper, principalmente os das calças jeans, evita este e outros problemas. A hora de passar o grafite é quando o ziper fica com dificuldade em correr o puxador.
That's cool if you're at home where your tools are but what if you're out somewhere and your zipper gets stuck? I'm not going to carry a pair of pliers in my back pocket. Also that's a plastic zipper. Will it work as easily with a metal zipper?

Se il cursore si è aperto significa che si è rotto al suo interno e, se si strige male o, troppo, si rischia di compromettere la cucitura delle spirali e rovinare definitivamente la lampo. Ma chi scienziato sei che consigli queste cose? In questo caso bisogna sostituire il cursore con uno nuovo e basta.
It is not that easy. There has to be balance between 2 sides. I did this, it only lasted a week of use. If the runner gets defective (a little loose)it will do it again 😢
I'll be gentle when I attempt to fix mine, and thanks for the example. I was about to take to a shop to have repaired. Only used it once and the zipper did the exact same thing as in this video

I've been sewing for over 60 years. This is my 1st time being made aware of this.
Many of them are made of a cast metal which quickly breaks if you do it this way
They likely all are made of cast 😂

I use Vaseline on old zippers also put Vaseline or olive oil inside the metals of the umbrella for longer use..😅

You have to do both sides at the same time or it bends one way, then the other. By that time the pot metal breaks. Then your zipper is really broken.
