I tend to do that in most games, explore and everything first then do the quests. It's just the completionist in me. One particular game was quite funny in that regards, greedfall. I ended exploring and lvling and doing all the stuff i could. Then once i started doing the quests it took me to all those spots i had already done and explored lol.

I find it amusing that 8% of people think they are not reliant on technology and 6% of people would bring a console to a deserted island.

If I may offer some advice, no spoilers, but there's some (well, just one really) circumstances where stopping to read the articles will *severely* punish you. Unreasonably so. I feel like the game lulls you into a false sense of security with this, so I hope that it's something you keep in mind. Believe the game when it tells you to wait for something, don't waste that time reading an article because you will miss something absolutely critical otherwise. It's this game's one major misstep, IMHO. You can check a book and then immediately put it down, and its contents will be available to read in the menu later when you have more time.
    Excited to see more!

The most eerie thing in this episode is when Marcus approaches the piano for the first time when you explore the room and starts playing. The first two notes at 29:16 are the exact same as in the Mass Effect song you have playing in the background in your intro and outro (e.g. at 3:22). Also played by a piano. I guess someone else loved this piece of music as much as you and we all do. 😄

Lance Henriksen is not only the voice of admiral Hacket and the voice of Carl here, it is as well the actor who gave his body and face to Carl... When you see Carl, you see the actor Lance Henriksen (who played several roles in the cinema like Aliens (he played an android there called Bishop)-, The Terminator (he played a cop in the police station), he's got the main role in the TV show Millennium (he played Franck Black, a kind of extralucid medium) for the most famous of them)

This game really hits close to where we are going in reality. There are already fast food restaurants that are replacing people with robot workers. And there have been videos of people kicking delivery robots and vandalizing them in LA. The timeline is a bit further in the future, but the next 20 - 30 years are going to be quite interesting to say the least...

    • @kaliwali

      I definitely agree..

    • @harryballsak1123
      @harryballsak1123 7 місяців тому

It's not even robots. You can already order McDonald's and pay via an app or use the kiosk inside. Eventually the drive through will be a touchscreen and/or Ai. They'll need people, just fewer. Most newer fast food places or having small indoor eating or none at all anyway. I mean factories that needed 2000 people 100 years ago can get by on a 1/10th that and produce 10X as much. Should be we go back to having 3 dozen people boxing up candy bars at a Hershey factory when a machine can it it at the same pace or faster? Let's face it machines work 24/7 don't need vacation or time off don't need health insurance, don't call in sick. Don't show up tired or high or drunk. This is why UBI will be necessary in the future. Companies will get by with few workers and unless everyone else has money there will be no one to buy their products.

That whole sequence of how they build Kara and her conscious awakening was shocking! Glad that guy let her go in that moment, but wasn't she repeatedly reset afterwards? I wonder if she somehow retains some identity from before. The interactions with Carl were so good, though I was just waiting for him to say "Hackett out" at any moment! 😅 That went really went at the end with the escape, but it seems yet again your playthrough is so unique, with such low percentage of how many did it exactly like that. It's scary to think what the alternative routes would've been like...

Even if the androids didnt have any shred of humanity and ability to feel, it still wouldnt justify mistreating them. Insects dont have nervous system, which should suggest they cant feel any pain if you rip away their wings or limbs. But it does something to you, if you hurt it. It makes u less sensitive. It may not make you a bad person if you can kill an insect, but if you cant even kill an insect how could you kill an animal or a human? Or if you rip of their limbs for fun, what does that say about you?
Its important to do good, even just for your own sake. Protect your humanity and empathy unless violence of any kind is necessary

I don't think by "most anticipated" would mean "most wanted", but the technology you expect to happen soon the most probably, whether you like it or not... If it was about what you personaly want, the question would have been more precise in that sense
About "relationship" with a humanoid, I think it is about relationships in general, that could include (or not) sexual intercourses, romances, friendship, co-workers, family...

I totally believe that there is life in the universe, it's a statistical fact. Now, that's one thing. Pretending it's common, or that it will ever appear close neough to us to find it, that's something else entirely. The universe is just way too big, and life seems to have a lot of critical conditions to appear. We know that because there's only one example of verified appearance life on earth. All life on earth comes from the same cell. We can see that in how similar our dna is to EVERYTHING else's.

Oh I remember this game. This was an interesting one. Personally I didn't like the gameplay style. I'm not saying it was bad, it was just not the sort of gameplay that I generally like. But the story was very engaging and more than made up for that in my opinion.

With regards to the survey, I'm fairly certain it meant a sexual or romantic relationship. I think it would have been better for the player if it was worded differently, but I think wording it as such was too long for the developers liking. Essentially what it was asking, is that if an android was absolutely, totally and completely indistinguishable from a human, but you still knew it was an android, could you have or develop a romantic relationship with it. As far as I'm concerned personally, and if I'm being honest, I believe all people should see it this way - if it's indistinguishable from a human, it IS a human. If we allow ourselves to limit what we call human or what we grant humanity to when it's indistinguishable from us, then we inevitably permit ourselves to do the same with other biological humans like ourselves, and as history has shown us - when we start denying the humanity of others, when we start treating others inhumanely, that's when true evil takes root.
We can change the question to like a homeless person and we still have the same moral dilemma. If you are super rich and successful but you met the poorest person ever, could you have a romantic relationship with them despite those differences, if they check all the other boxes? When I say poor I don't mean like they are poor when you meet them and then they go out and get a job and all that. I mean they are poor, and say, refuse to engage in capitalism so they hate money, consumerism, and won't do anything towards accumulating wealth. Most people, the overwhelming majority would say no, they wouldn't be able to bridge that gap with someone so financially opposite, again, even if they checked all other boxes. Even if they match their humor, compassion, interests, if they compliment each other's strengths and make up for each other's weaknesses, most people would say no. This is a very subtle, seemingly benign example of dehumanization where we categorize and stuff other humans into boxes with regards to their relation to us, rather than as beings that we truly experience and appreciate in their own right.
So if you are someone who would be incapable of seeing past that, you engage in the dehumanization of others. Likewise, if you are unable to see past the fact that a sentient, conscious android is a mechanical human not a biological one, that too is dehumanization. Now this isn't to place blame on anyone, because in fact in our day to say lives, we dehumanize others in these quiet little ways, everyday. When we recognize and admit this, we make the first step into building a more compassionate and empathetic world, one more meaningful and less transactional.

Don't worry, the short movie you saw was the demo of Kara released in 2013, it has no link with the story of Detroit except, of course, that she's a humanoid and she's starting feeling emotions, but nothing more
Please, when will you upload the video where you discover the Mass Effect 4 teaser ?

But the writing in blood just seems to psychotic for me i dont get why he did that

I'm glad you even took time for the Extras menu. Especially the Kara Short Movie (2013). This was already Bonus content from one of Quantic Dreams previous games, like "Heavy Rain", which is also worth playing, if you got time for that. Not quite sure, but i think the short movie was only meant as tech-preview for upcoming PS3 and PS4 games. Then fans wanted to have a full game with her, and they began developing Detroit become Human.

Yeah the Kara and the heavy rain "kitchen,' scene are tech preview videos for the games. I believe 'Kara,' was built right after Heavy Rain and was the main factor in how Detroit was made. I still love the Heavy rain kitchen scene and if she watches it there's nothing to worry about because it's not in the actual game.

The way I see it, automation needs to happen, because as many philosophic minds of the past have pointed out, automation is one of the key catalysts to dissolving the class structure. You bring up the working class and you know what happens to them when you replace a bunch of them with androids. The working class disappears is what happens, is what is supposed to happen, and with it, the middle class disappears, and the ruling class disappears. Of course the way automation is integrated is important and we see it being integrated incorrectly in Detroit. If you replace store clerks with just android store clerks, the position itself remains, so the working class as a structure remains as well. That's not what we want. When you replace clerks with self checkouts, the position itself vanishes, the need for a laboring entity goes away, and the class structure begins to dissolve.
The whole point of automating positions like these away is to reach an end goal where money dissolves because ultimately money IS the thing that keeps the class structure in place. When all these positions disappear, and there becomes less and less need to use money as a form of compensation, it's usage in society falls off. At that point (and even before that point frankly) we have the capacity to provide all the things to society that would have otherwise cost money. The only real jobs that then exist under this structure are supervisory positions to maintain production of the automated machinery, making sure nothing goes wrong in the production line, and mechanics who come in to fix machines when necessary. You can automate the latter to a certain extent, machines fixing machines, but the last machine down the line will inevitably need a human to come in and fix it as it cannot fix itself. Frankly I think it's not a good idea for the most part to teach machines, but that's another story.
Positions in education, emergency like police and firefighters, in the medical field, and in basic food production like the actual farming of food whether it be crops or meat, should not be considered jobs but civic duties that the continued existence of society depends on. No matter what, if you're a cop, teacher, farmer, mechanic, automation supervisor - an artist; painter, musician, sculptor, dancer - whether you don't work because you're too young, too old, disabled, or just choose not to - all people will be provided for in their necessities and they will not just have the opportunity, but will be given the capacity to provide for themselves whatever wants they so choose.
Now I might be biased in the desire to see the class structure dissolve because I think money is quite literally the worst thing humans have invented, even worse than nuclear weapons. We forget that every second of every day, people die because of money.

I'm only at the very beginning so far but I do want to say to be very careful when buying "extra's" as you may actually end up spoiling some things for yourself in the game. I would suggest holding off on buying any of the extras atleast until after you've finished the game or rather close to.

I also like how she immediately decided she was not going to stand there like the instructions said. You be surprised how many people just stand there until it's almost too late or is too late. When I first encountered this my instinct was "F these instructions. I'm protecting that girl." Or how some people try to reason with a meth up Todd. Seriously? Have these people never encountered someone high before?

It’s never a good idea to grab the gun when you’ve got someone else to worry about because if you have the gun, the person you’re trying to get away from can always get the gun from you, those are just good instincts plus you never want to actually shoot someone even in self-defense
It’s much better not to shoot Todd anyway and you kind of have to shoot him if you get the gun or else the child will And neither one of those scenarios is good for a traumatic reason and plus you might see Todd around with other characters and that’s always interesting

That short film you watched in extras was the Kara Tech Demo we were talking about in comment section of last video.
