Leofric's character so short lived. If he lived for atleast 3seasons it wouldve been epic. Imagine Leofric and finan, sithric and osferth going to battle together.
As much as I loved Leofric as a character, I don’t like the “ghost leofric” scenes. I mean it would be cool if characters mentioned him every now and then in memory, but to bring the actor back to do “ghost scenes” always feels like an admission from showrunners that they messed up and killed off a character they shouldn’t have, and those scenes are essentially them backtracking in the only logical way available. A similar comparison, would be like when the show “the 100” made the mistake of killing off the character “wells” in the first season, not realizing he would end up becoming a top 5 fan favorite during those episodes leading up to his death. You gotta remember GoT made a name killing off a character like that, because nobody has ever done it intentionally before (because usually that’s not how the original book is written, but in GoT case Ned Stark also dies there in the books). So these other shows that came out around the same time period didn’t do it intentionally, they kill off characters like Leofric and Wells early in to the show, because they genuinely don’t have a good understanding of their audience and think these characters to be little more than kinda likeable side characters meant to enhance the plot. But to us they were part of the main story, and therefore should have been preserved a few seasons. Example : Aetholwold didn’t die in the first 2 seasons for a reason. Because (genuinely speaking with GoT obviously being the exception) you don’t build up a likeable character, and give them significant screen time and lines, just to kill them off a few episodes later. And this is unrelated, but I also dislike the way the first few seasons just kept switching out Uthreds woman. It felt like every 5 episodes, he would meet a new woman, fall in love within 2 episodes, and then she would die like 2 episodes later. It felt like they just couldn’t find an actress/character they wanted on screen long, or are just rushing through the source materials characters. (Which I wouldn’t know because I haven’t read all the books) moral of the story, you can only “subvert expectations” so much and so often, otherwise fans start to feel like the cast is constantly being shuffled every season just for the sake of “surprise”.
I would have been happy of they kept Leofric in for more seasons. Easily the best mate for Uhtred in the series, and that's saying something. Uhtred, Alfred, Leofric and Beocca really elevated the series 😁
It felt like they pulled him straight out of GoT This was the hounds younger brother he never knew he had, his father had him with a random tavern wrench
Besides uhtred, leofric is my favorite character of the last kingdom. Wish he would of lasted more than 1 season, heck it would of been amazing if he lived and made it to the series finale.

Leofric's ghost still a friend and not letting Uthred to give up and die. Miss the guy. Will forever one of my favorite TLK characters, Sir Leofric!

Lol Leofric is jokes but the fucking GOAT. This was sick. We definitely needed more of him in the show
The king of the show in my mind.
