this is literally the only video explaining the sleeve placket sewing which actually specifies which sleeve (right or left) is being shown in the video, this can be tricky when you manipulate right and wrong sides of the fabric so great to have it clearly mentioned at the beginning - thank you
I’m really glad you like my style. When I’m learning something I have to know how it relates to other things or why I’m doing it. So I try to proved this context. And if I don’t, just ask! Happy sewing!
Thank you thank you thank you....!!! I was struggling this morning redoing the cuff on a shirt with quite thick fabric and after founding your instructions, I re-cut the cuffs and did it first time properly with your wonderful explanations. You probably saved my shirt from being ripped to shreds 🤪 you're the best. B
This bias option for the placket (instead of the house looking thing the pattern I'm using calls for) actually made sense and on my trial run I got it in 1 try without re watching the video and it came out looking great thanks for the video!
Bless You!! It's been years since sewing in a cuff, and the new pattern I was using was awful. Could not have finished without your help. And, I will never again fit the sleeve in before finishing the sleeve. 🤨
I don’t know if it helps but you can save videos and make a playlist (and you can make it private too). I like doing this for music, tutorials and recipes!
@@SewSewLive I made my tower plackets yesterday and they turned out so much better than my first ones. It really helped me to not cut that little area that you mentioned not to cut.
You know when I was sewing my samples, that spot kept ruining my placket and I didn’t remember having that issue before. You may even be able to skip adding an 1/8 if you don’t snip it. But I agree. That snip is a potential problem in most fabrics! I’m so glad yours went well!
Yes! Lots of folks do that. I think if I had to do these a lot, I’d make a template too. I always waffle on my tutorials-do I want to show the absolutely best way 100% guaranteed way to get good results-or the way I think most people would bother to sew it and still get awesome results. I usually opt for the latter. 😉
Super helpful - thank you Saremy. I also found you through Love to Sew podcast. So interesting and am looking forward to watching all of your videos. The other one I've been having trouble with is attaching a standees collar and making it look neat where it changes from the all layers at the fronts to the under collar only along the back seam. I always end up with a lump when then turning under the collar edge and hand sewing down
Oh I have a dedicated video for that! How to Sew a Collar and Collar Stand. It’s in the How To playlist. Maybe it’ll help a little! I’m glad this one helped 😊

I’m so glad! Steps like this can be so frustrating sometimes. Especially when we’re already a bit fatigued by it 😄
This is my go to video for sewing cuffs! Thank you so much Saremy for making it! ❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊

Nice-I’m glad you got it done!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the super clear video
I’m glad it was helpful Elizabeth!

This saved my life, Thanks! So clear and well explained!
My pleasure!
Excellent tutorial so clear and easy to understand 👏
Glad to hear that!
I'm making an Archer right now and your collar stand and cuff videos will really help! Thank you for being so generous with your teaching.
You are so welcome! Happy sewing!
Excellent video. Thanks for the great lesson.
I’m so glad it helped. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Really good commentary. I've watched a few sleeve placket tutorials, and this is by far the most helpful to listen to.
Wow that’s great to hear! Glad it helped!
Thank you for this great tutorial- much easier to follow than the instructions of the pattern I'm making!
I’m glad to hear that Deb!
That is just what I needed. Thanks I will save to my favourites.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching.
I tried this before seeing this video and made a real mess of it. You’ve got me excited to try again. Thank you!
You got this!!
Ouuu!! Yer gooood! This was super helpful for the project I'm working on right now! Thanks!
That’s awesome!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial Saremy 👍👏👏!!
My pleasure Claire!
Thank you so much! I will be watching this video about a hundred times! Lol...I definitely needed some “hand holding” for the placket.

I also made a card stock template to press the tower part. It is definitely cumbersome area!

Great tutorial. I just heard about you on Love to Sew Podcast👍
Nice! Glad you like it.
Hi- Didn't catch what the width is of the bias strip/ placket?
I like to use bias that is 1.375” wide (a little under 1.5”) 🙂
Thanks!
Well thank you! I appreciate the tip $$!! Happy sewing and thanks for watching!
