I think the noise actually pissed the Bear off, lol the Bear was just chilling until he started making noises. The Bear just texted me and said, "Man I went for a walk after an argument with the Wife and this idiot starts Grunting at me and I just lost it at that point."
That bear was stalking him, as the hunter was stalking the bear. He made a very slow nonchalant approach directly to the hunter, he knew where he was the entire time.
I think he saw the vid where this dude just started yelling at the bear and it ran right off like "wtf man chill" but it didn't go as planned in this one :D
His error was in not being loud when he first saw the bear. By startling the bear when it was close, he scared the bear and it went into attack mode. Most black bears avoid people.

I heard your interview on the CBC yesterday and how this quick encounter really affected your life after you had initially tried to laugh it off, and also it's effect on your family and friends. Despite some of the stupid comments posted here its obvious from the interview you have had some time for real introspection.
@@joblessmf420 Yeah, as posted, don't be a smart ass in the bush. See idiots all the time walking up to animals for a selfie, getting in their space, Darwin award material. If introspection is true, a tough lesson to learn the hard way.
Pretty much. Black bears are nowhere near as aggressive as brown bears/grizzlies. The cliche, old saying, "It's more afraid of you than you are of it", actually applies in the case of black bears. They basically only attack out of being afraid and startled. You see in this video, the bear didn't really notice him until it was already pretty close to the guy, who then made a sound and then the bear noticed him, which startled the bear. This was basically the black bear version of sneaking up on someone and startling them, and they're like, "OH SHIT!", and they punch you in the face out of natural reflex and immediately run away. The bear just smacked him, knocked him down, and then took off. And in some cases, it's just a 'bluff charge'. It won't even touch you. It will charge you in the hopes of scaring you away, but it will stop before it gets to you and will usually make noises and stomp the ground repeatedly to scare you and try to make you retreat. Black bears are giant pussy cats. They're still huge, powerful animals that can literally rip you to pieces if it wanted to, so you still need to give it a wide berth and show it respect. But they're not really anything to fear. Brown bears/grizzlies are the bears that live up to the cliche, stereotypical representation of bears being wild, vicious, blood-thirsty, killing machines. They are the opposite to black bears completely. You will NEED weapons if you have a brown bear encounter, and it will NOT be a bluff charge or quick slap and retreat, like a black bear. It's going to fuck you up. You may possibly survive. It may not finish you off as long as you be absolutely still and quiet as it attacks you and stands over you. Situations like this have happened many times. They get attacked and fucked up REALLY BAD by the bear - but they stay as still as possible and play dead. The bear eventually loses interest and goes away. Then the person gets up after making sure the bear is gone and they get the hell outta Dodge and to immediate medical help. Anyways, sorry about the wall of text. Bears are really interesting animals and when you get interested in them it's hard not to ramble on about them. But fuck brown bears... Seriously....
I'm also from northern Ontario and i had a "run in" with a black bear, but not as harrowing as yours was, but nonetheless, we were camped at a provincial camp site. I had to go to the washroom at around 2:00 in the morning, so the out-houses were only about 40 ft. from our tent, so i took my flashlight and off i went. When i came out of the out-house there was a black bear standing right outside the door. i guess it had crept up 'cause it heard me in there. (had to pee real bad, so like Niagara Falls i guess...lol) I shut the door real quick and it was trying to get in. I was scared to death. I tried yelling out to my husband and any others that might hear me for help to scare this bear off, but no one heard me. (drunkn' night so every1 passed out). Finally after 3 hours of being in that shit hole enduring the horrible smell that comes with out-houses i finally opened the door and he was gone. But i think i would have died if it charged at me outside. So kudos to you for handling yourself well with your attack. Thumbs up!

Надо было на русском орать, медведь бы не напал.
надо было сказать слава путину
Медведи просто на русском языке общаются между собой.
What kind of arrows were they? They looked like simple target arrows. Nobody goes hunting with them do they? How did that guy escape being seriously injured? Crazy.
16 seconds you can see a Broadhead on the Arrow
@@akwfarms Wow, good eye! I hadn't noticed that glimpse of the head. Thanks!
1:16 That's a pretty primal scream
tabarnak, scared me that guy 😂😂
I'm stealing that line😁
What was he hunting? He had no broad head on his arrow. It looked like a field target tip.
He regained his composure well, but the bear was telling him to leave the wildlife alone..
You put yourself in that situation. It was either him or you. You're lucky he didn't do worse.
what is the purpose of the bow if you're just going to yell at the bear?
When you realize it aint yogi bear
Found this using the search words "scare me that guy". True story.
Why did you have the arrow ready only to not use it?
the entire time i was waiting for that bear to send it
That was an oval it has to be a circle
What was he hunting with a field point arrow? Where was the broadhead? Was he after chipmunks?
Glad you are alright . Though the joy you have brought to so many is just wonderful .
Bear should have killed him!
