I was a Puppet Painter on Wildwood. I cant wait for the world to see this beautiful film.
Looking forward to it! The only thing that worries me is if they pick the same Swedish distributor as for Missing Link. That DVD (there was no Blu-ray) did not include the original voices, which was really disappointing.
I ended up importing an English Blu-ray. Of course that meant no Swedish voices or subtitles, but that seemed like the lesser evil to me!

I bought this book in about 2014 when we went on a family vacation to Oregon. I had begun to not like reading as much anymore, my ADHD was catching up to me and making it hard to focus on reading, but the cover caught me, and so I picked it up and flipped a few pages - soon, I was absolutely engrossed. I loved the book so much, all the beautiful art and incredible writing. It sits on my shelf next to me to this day, 10 years later, as I sit here watching this reveal. I couldn't have imagined this, and I'm so happy that it's happening. Thank you Laika, and I look forward to seeing my favorite story done justice.
Coraline, Paranorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the two strings, Missing Link and now this new film is Wildwood
They haven't made a dud yet I think.
I always thought Aardman made Missing Link due to everything looking like it was made out of clay and Mr Link’s face kind of resembled Wallace’s.
Missing Link was a dud, didn't like much (still have it on bluray) but this one looks great!!!!!

Can we all appreciate how well made this trailer is.. the way they give little glimpses of their previous films yet the way they do it seems like it works with the narrative of the trailer and then the way they reveal their studio name on top of the trees in the sky, and the owl turning its head and backing out revealing the title from the fog.. its so well done. The narration, the music, the way the trailer is composed... everything. I haven't seen a good trailer in a long time and whoever made this deserves a raise. they know how to do trailers.
Yup, I'm already adding Wildwood to my most anticipated films just for LAIKA alone!

every once in a while we get news that an amazing book is getting adapted by the perfect studio for that story.
Now, this is a way to show off a new movie can't wait to see it.
We picked this book up in a Michigan book store back in 2018. Never thought it would become a movie and now not only is it one, it's by my favorite animation studio. We are beyond happy and excited for this.❤❤

I'm so excited!!!! The Wildwood chronicles were my childhood and I swear I remember seeing an obscure blog post years ago talking about this film being in development. I thought it would never happen, so I was SHOCKED and SO EXCITED to see that IT'S REAL!!!!
Incredible, another classic in the making. While so many studios keep producing such lackluster work, Laika keeps being a shining beacon in the world of animation, so inspiring.

i read this book when i was maybe 12, i’m 18 now and just repurchased the book like a month ago and i’m so so so pumped to see my favorite studio turn it into a movie!!!! absolutely overjoyed crying at work

Wildwood is already my favorite Laika film. I’ll be there NIGHT ONE when it comes out, right after taking a hike through the real Wildwood trail here in Portland to see the real-life locations! Highly recommend reading the book series before it comes out.

I was very young when i first saw paranorman on cable tv, and it told an encaptivating story that still has a place in my heart. When I first saw coraline, I related to it because of my own personal struggles and it has become a comfort movie I watch whenever I'm sick or sad etc. I'm just learning that lakia is a studio, and they've made other movies and I cant wait to watch them (hopefully enough to hold me over till release of this one). And if this movie is anywhere near the quality of the others I've seen, I will most definitely see it multiple times in theaters now that I can actually buy tickets and go on my own.
I love studio Laika so so so much. I'm going to drag anyone and everyone to see the new movie with me.

I’ve been a massive fan of your studio since the Kubo and the Two Strings Jordan giveaway. I was a lucky winner and in turn, became a fan of your studio for life. I became so fascinated with Laika’s stop motion work after going back and watching all of the movies. What you have done, movie after movie, is beyond impressive and is visually captivating. I was most impressed with the scenery built out in the Missing Link. That bridge fight is something else. I CANNOT WAIT FOR WILDWOOD!!!!!! What a spine tingling trailer that celebrates other Laika movies in the process 🥳 WAY TO GO!!!!

There is no other studio whose success I wish for than LAIKA. Everything they do is so special and interesting and I will always be there on opening night. I'm so glad to see them ready with a new project.

This previewed before Coraline (15th Anniversary)! I went for both 2D and 3D on August 15 and 17, and they both had it. So cool!
