I like these for the cord orientation; it's on the right next to my usb port. I just had a comparable set that the mic just stopped working after about a year's use. They were dubbed "Logicool" and i couldn't find those so i'm getting these, especially after hearing your recommend. Thanks

Unfortunately they aren't sound cancelling at all... It's hot, need a super quiet ceiling fan on and all people (and my own ears) can hear is the breeze hitting the mic

It's part of noise canceling. Since it does not have dedicated mic for it. It uses feedback from mic, invert the wave and feedback.
